For two consecutive seasons he was named Midwest Collegiate Coach of the Year. Beal was inducted into the Volleyball Hall of Fame in 1989 and was USA Volleyball s first recipient of the All-Time Great Coach Award in 1995.

Pam Briggs, Capital University Women s Volleyball - Spent 25 years at Capital University with 22 years as the head coach. She holds a career record of 436-298 (.601) and 108-84 (.563) against OAC teams and became the 38th head coach in Division III history to reach 4,000 wins. Her teams were OAC regular season champions in 96 and 03, and also won the 2005 OAC Tournament. She advanced to the NCAA Division III tournament twice in 2003 and 2005. She is the five-time OAC Coach of the Year and coached three AVCA All-Americans, five OAC Player of Year selections, seven Great Lakes All-Region selections and two OAC Freshman of the Year honorees. She also coached 4 ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-Americans and two Academic All-Americans of the Year Krista Cobb, Ohio Wesleyan Women s Volleyball Guided Ohio Wesleyan to a 7½-game improvement in her first season and to its first-ever AVCA Division III national ranking in her second season Pete Hanson, Ohio State Men s Volleyball Currently serves as head coach of the Buckeye men s volleyball squad. Hanson was named the American Volleyball Coaches Association Coach of the Year in 2000, 2011 and 2016, as well as Volleyball Magazine Coach of the Year in 1998 and 2011. Inducted into the AVCA Hall of Fame in 2015 Cynthia Holliday, Ohio Wesleyan Women s Volleyball A six-time NCAC Coach of the Year recipient, Holliday helmed the Battling Bishops for 17 years Terry Liskeyvch, Ohio State Men s Volleyball Coached the Women s U.S. Olympic Team at the 1996 Summer Games in Atlanta. He took the Buckeye Men s Volleyball team to the NCAA tournament Final Four in 1975 and 1976 Mary Parker, Ohio Wesleyan Women s Volleyball Served as head coach of the Ohio Wesleyan women for 26 years, earning a NCAC Coach of the Year honor in 1986 Jim Stone, Ohio State Women s Volleyball Received AVCA North Central Region Coach of the Year honors in 1988 and AVCA Mideast Region Coach of the Year honors in 1989, 1991 and 2004. He was also recognized as the ASICS/ Volleyball Monthly Coach of the Year in 1991 and Big Ten Coach of the Year in 1989, 1991, 1994 and 2004 Monica Wright, Otterbein Volleyball - Led Otterbein to a 172-119 record from 2009-15 with four NCAA appearances in the past six years. A former two-time All-American outside hitter at Witternberg, where she led her team to four straight NCAA tournament appearances TEAMS/ORGANIZATIONS IN COLUMBUS (Championships Included) Collegiate Ohio State Men s Volleyball The program earned its first NCAA championship in 2011, and won again in 2016

Ohio High School Athletic Association As of 2011, 19,000 girls participated on 911 teams and 2,500 boys on 119 teams For 2011-12 season: Girls 801 teams (18,899 players) Ohio Valley Region (OVR) of USA Volleyball The OVR is one of the largest of the 40 regions of USA Volleyball with over 22,000 members participating (1,622 girls, 47 boys and 62 adult teams) Since 1993, Columbus has hosted over 75 volleyball tournaments in Columbus OVR owns 52 sport courts and nets The OVR website receives over 11 million contacts per season from volleyball players and coaches from Ohio and neighboring states After hosting regional and national tournaments in Columbus since 1993, the OVR partnered with the Greater Columbus Sports Commission to successfully host the 2012 USA Volleyball Girls Junior National Championships.
