Turn left onto road (hidden by hedges) 3.3 miles: turn right 2.7 miles: right along edge of field, then left on wide path 3.1 miles: turn left OFF SOUTH BUCKS WAY on road (not over stile) 3.7 miles: As road turns left, bear right on to South Bucks Way Stage 5 5 Miles: Amersham Cricket Club 5.2 miles: Path goes by stream under road LOW BRIDGE MIND YOUR HEAD! 5 miles: Left around cricket pitch and clubhouse Out of gates, straight over to narrow tarmac footpath Follow path onto Old Amersham Road, keeping on right hand side

Stage 5 Detail 6 miles: Amersham Into Amersham past market hall, cross BUSY ROAD Cross stream and turn right to run between stream and graveyard 6.4 miles: At top of hill, before memorial, path enters narrow footpath downhill between houses 6.2 miles: Past graveyard; continue parallel to stream 6.5 miles: Path emerges suddenly onto DANGER STOP! Cross road onto footpath opposite and continue straight 6 miles: Turn left at church and through churchyard 6.3 miles: Turn left to climb hill on footpath next to field

Stage 5 Detail 7 miles: Raan s Farm 7.1 miles: Left onto main road, then left under railway bridge Cross BUSY ROAD and take immediate right into Raans Road 8 miles: Entering Lane Wood, follow right fork in path (marked by orange painted arrow) 6.9 miles: Path emerges into Stanley Hill Avenue 7.8 miles: At farm, take left fork to go through farm (i.e. do not turn right to farm car park)

Stage 5 Detail 8.5 miles: Latimer Park Farm 9.6 miles: Turn left into Flaunden Hill and continue on road for 2 miles 8.8 miles: At t-junction with Latimer Road, turn right TAKE CARE ON ROAD Follow path as it bears right Path arrives at Codmore Wood Road; turn right 8.5 miles: Follow path out of Lane Wood and left to Bell Lane; follow road downhill 9.1 miles: Immediately after farm, through kissing gate to path across field and over river

Stage 5 Top Tips Race Navigation: This is a tough stage with a few twists and turns, and plenty of roads to cross. Errors in the past have been missing the footpath towards Old Amersham from the cricket club at 5 miles, and in the two woods sections towards the end follow the yellow arrows.
