A MESSAGE FROM THE KEYANO FOUNDATION CHAIR For 30 years the Keyano Huskies have attracted outstanding student athletes and leaders who contribute to sport excellence, community pride and growth. It is only fitting that the One On One Banquet celebrate 30 years of sport by bringing in a panel of guests who were outstanding athletes and who are also leaders in their respected sport and communities. Like previous events, this year s One On One will impress as we welcome Original Six Hall of Famers who will share their stories of how they became legends of the game. On behalf of the Keyano Foundation Board of Directors and staff, I invite you to attend this year s amazing evening with this elite group of hockey players as we raise funds for Huskies Athletics. Keyano Huskies This 2014/2015 season the Huskies Athletics Department is celebrating 30 years of sport development and excellence in the Wood Buffalo region and as a member of the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC). Joining the ACAC in 1985, Huskies student-athletes have competed in a variety of sports. Participation in curling, canoeing, racquetball, badminton and bowling paved the way for our current offerings of soccer, basketball, volleyball, and cross-country running. In 2012 the Huskies Athletics added the long anticipated sport of men s hockey to their roster! The last decade of Huskies Athletics has been our most successful, earning national rankings in cross-country running, volleyball and soccer; as well as hosting the 2009 CCAA Men s Volleyball National Championships and most recently the 2013 ACAC Championships, in both men s volleyball and basketball. Adding to our success rating this year both our Men s Soccer Team and Idris Ahmed from Cross Country Running earned their way to the CCAA National Championships. Keyano College Huskies Athletics is committed to providing training and opportunities that foster the academic and athletic development of our students. To do this, we need your support. Financial assistance is critical to the continued success of our student athletes and the Huskies Athletics Programs. keyano.ca/oneonone PG 7
The Endowment Fund The Keyano College Athletic Program Endowment was established to celebrate our 25th anniversary and create annual awards for students enrolled in an athletic program at the College. In 2013 at the One On One Banquet with Mark Messier the Keyano Foundation met their goal of raising $500,000 for the Endowment Fund. This past September we handed out our first 25 awards to returning student athletes. It is out hope that this award contributes to the continued growth and success of our Athletics Department. keyano.ca/oneonone PG 8

Did you know The Keyano College Huskies are working with thousands of youth in the community each season to share their knowledge and skills in sport, life and leadership. In 2010, our Director of Athletics, Wade Kolmel, initiated a focus on community outreach with the vision of having a longstanding commitment of giving back to the community. Community service not only serves to enhance a student athlete s college experience, but also serves to expand character and leadership. Additionally, our community s youth have the opportunity to interact on a personal level with our student athletes. These interactions become an educational experience celebrating diversity and the importance of community service. keyano.ca/oneonone PG 10
