The cach pitcher may cach the players befre the pitch is released and may nt becme vcal until the ball is declared dead, then the cach pitcher may return t respnsibilities, including caching f the player at bat but nt caching while play is in prgress. The cach pitcher is nthing mre than a pitching machine during the play. The cach pitcher must leave the field f play immediately after the ball is batted. The cach pitcher must remain in ful territry n either the first base r third base side until the play is ver. The cach pitcher may nt be behind the plate in ful territry. Failure t remve cach pitcher frm field f play will result, after ne warning, in cach pitcher replacement. A batted ball Striking the cach pitcher is a dead ball and is treated as a ful ball and a pitch fr the batter. A thrwn ball hitting the cach pitcher anywhere n the field (whether in fair r ful territry) results in a call f interference and the batter will be ut and dead ball declared. If the cach pitcher interferes with the fielding r thrwing f a ball in fair r ful territry, interference will be called and the batter will be ut, and dead ball

Sprtsmanship: All players, caches and spectatrs will cnduct themselves prperly and with respect fr all thers at the Optimist Fields/Waxahachie Sprts Cmplex. All players, caches and spectatrs will abide by the rules f the Optimist Fields at all times while n the premises. Prfanity, assault (whether verbal r physical) r any ther abuse f any persn by anther at any WYBA-sanctined event is strictly prhibited. The Waxahachie Plice Department will be immediately summned shuld any player, caches r spectatrs becme invlved in a fight. A duly elected member f the WYBA Bard may eject any spectatr that is exhibiting disruptive behavir. An ejected spectatr must leave the park immediately. In the case f a parent wh is ejected, must leave the field immediately and wait fr the end f the game at their car. Ejectins Any player, cach r spectatr ejected frm a game must leave the field immediately, including the immediate vicinity f the field n which the game is being played. Any ejected party may have n impact n the game frm that pint frward. Shuld a cach r player be ejected frm a game, this als carries an autmatic ne-game suspensin. The determinatin date f the negame suspensin will be served will be at the discretin f the WYBA Sprtsmanship Cmmittee. Additinal discipline may be applied as determined by the WYBA Sprtsmanship Cmmittee. Players may be ejected fr deliberately attempting t injure anther player thrugh rugh play r deliberately thrwing equipment. These decisins will be made by the umpires in their sle discretin. Player Age Grup Determinatin Unless apprved by a WYBA Officer Directr (President, Vice President, League Directr, Treasurer, Secretary), all players will play within their age grup as utlined under ASA rules. Parents must request a waiver frm a WYBA Officer Directr fr any age grup change. Sibling situatins are always cnsidered, but under n circumstance may a player play mre than ne age grup abve his wn. Turnament r Select Players Playing in the Recreatinal League Select players are welcme t play in the WYBA recreatinal league. Cancellatin f Games / Inclement Weather Plicy In its sle discretin, the WYBA r the Waxahachie Sprts Cmplex may cancel games fr any reasn. The WYBA will attempt, subject t field availability and subject t its cntract with the Waxahachie Sprts Cmplex, t reschedule all games lst due t cancellatin. Depending n when cancellatins ccur, there may nt be enugh time in
the seasn t reschedule cancelled games. The WYBA will attempt t reschedule games, but cannt guarantee rescheduled game times r dates will be cnvenient fr caches and team members. The WYBA and the Waxahachie Sprts Cmplex utilize a lightning detectin device. If the system detects a strm in the vicinity, fficials will be ntified. After ntificatin, all players, caches and spectatrs must leave the baseball fields in an rderly and immediate manner. Abslutely n ne is allwed t remain n the playing fields r sit in the dug uts r stands r stand in the pen spaces r green belts arund the playing fields and cncessin stand.. Players, caches and spectatrs are t remain in the parking lt at their cars until either the "all clear" is given r their team's Head Cach has infrmed the parents f their team that they have received "fficial" cnfirmatin that their game has been canceled. Head Caches wh dismiss their teams prir t receiving "fficial" cnfirmatin that the game has been canceled may be subject t receiving a frfeit fr dismissing their teams prematurely. The all clear signal indicates the threat has passed and play may resume, subject t field cnditins. Once the lightning detectin system indicates danger, caches and/r umpires may nt independently decide t cntinue play, and play may nt resume until the all clear signal has been given by the lighting detectin system. The "fficial" determinatin f game cancellatin based n field cnditins will be made in the fllwing line f successin (based n availability) by ne r tw (in cnsultatin if pssible) f WYBA Bard Members: President, Directr f Umpires, Vice President and League Cmmissiner. One r tw f these members shall make themselves available fr cnsultatin, (by phne if nt in attendance) t any duly elected Bard Member t render the "fficial" determinatin regarding game cancellatins. Please nte that if field cnditins are deemed acceptable fr play fr the reasns nted abve, while rain is falling at the time f the start r the game, the game will be started and the respnsibility fr determining whether field cnditins are safe fr play will be transferred t the game umpires. Saturday games which are suspended in prcess due t weather r by the sunding f the lightning detectr will nt be cmpleted that day if the delay ends after the scheduled time has expired fr thse games. If the delay ends after the time alltted fr the game which was suspended, the next game t start will be the game that has the start time clsest t the end f the delay. Delayed games will be cnsidered cmplete if the games meet the fllwing criteria fr a cmplete game; 5U thrugh 11/12U age grups are cnsidered cmpleted if 2 1/2 innings are played and the hme team is ahead. 2) 13/14U age grup is cnsidered cmpleted if 3 1/2 innings are played and the hme team is ahead. 3) Incmplete games will be scheduled at the discretin f the WYBA based n available dates, times and field space.
