FIELD CONDITION / RAIN OUT NUMBER IS The tournament Director will email the head coach unless a text is required, WE HAVE ENCLOSED INFORMATION ON SOME ITEMS THAT YOU WILL WANT TO PASS ALONG TO YOUR SUPPORTERS. PLEASE DO NOT PARK VEHICLES IN THE GRASS IN ANY AREA OF THE PARK (except in the designated area near the water tower at Golden Gate Park). WE EXPECT THAT ALL PARTICIPANTS AND SPECTATORS WILL SHOW PROPER RESPECT FOR ALL WHO ARE AT THE TOURNAMENT THIS WEEKEND. MANAGERS/COACHES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ACTIONS OF THEIR TEAM AND SUPPORTERS. BROOKVILLE BASEBALL CLUB GENERAL RULES OUR WEBSITE WILL HAVE THE CURRENT CONDITIONS LISTED. WE WILL ALSO EMAIL AND TEXT HEAD COACHES FOR RAINOUT/DELAY IN PLAY INFORMATION 1) ELIGIBILTY: A) Age cut off for all divisions will be May 1 st B) A player CANNOT be on more than one roster in the tournament. C) Violation of Eligibility rules may result in the player being disqualified, and the forfeiture of games played, at the discretion of the tournament director. 2) MANAGERS AND COACHES Teams will be limited to one Manager and two Coaches. 3) ROSTERS: A) Rosters are limited to 13 players for 13U and under. B) Rosters are due prior to first game and must include birthdates. C) No players may be added after tournament starts. 4) TROPHIES Each division will be awarded individual awards for first and second place. 5) GENERAL RULES OF PLAY: A) No soft toss hitting into the fence. You can use whiffle balls B) For pool play Home team will be determined by coin flip. C) For Bracket Play Home team will be best seeded team D) Only Manager, coaches, scorekeeper and batboy / girl are allowed in dug out during the game. i All players must remain in dugout, except on deck batter. E) Only the designated manager may discuss disputed calls with the umpires. i Violation of this rule could result in ejection from the game. F) Game time is forfeit time. G) All players must wear face mask when warming up pitchers. H) No infield practice will be permitted. I) All equipment must be kept in the dugout. J) Ohio High School rules will apply, except where amended by these general rules or the age division rules. i We will not enforce the matching uniform part of the High School rules. K) Tournament Director will make determination in all matters not covered under High School or amended rules. L) In case of darkness or inclement weather, a game that has not met the requirements of a complete game, becomes a suspended game. M) IF A GAME IS TIED AT THE END OF REGULATION OR TIME LIMIT
i ii IN POOL PLAY THE GAME CAN END IN A TIE THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE WILL BE USED BRACKET PLAY. 1 The player, who had completed his turn at bat when the last out of the previous inning was made, will be placed on second base. Then the game will proceed as normal. 2 The same procedure will take place in the bottom of the inning. N) Violation of pitching rules, could result in forfeiture of game in which violation occur. O) One or more pitches in an inning constitute an inning pitched RULES OF CONDUCT 1. PROTEST a. All protests fees are $50 (CASH). Protest fees shall be given to tournament director. If protest is upheld, the $50 will be returned b. The Umpire shall have complete jurisdiction during the game. c. There will be no protest on judgment calls. d. If there is a protest, based on rules interpretation that the manager and umpire cannot resolve, the tournament director will make determination before the game continues, 2. Any player, manager, coach or spectator, that exhibits misconduct, poor sportsmanship, or Abusive language, risks being removed from the game and asked to leave the park. a. The manager is responsible for the actions of his team and spectators. b. Spectators will not be allowed on the playing field or in the dugouts. 3. No one is allowed to stand behind the backstop while the game is in progress. 4. Any "chatter" by players should only be directed as encouragement to their own teammates. 5. No use of Tobacco or Tobacco products will be allowed on the field or in the dugout. 6. Managers should be able to prove that age is correct, if a protest is lodged. 7. A signed roster by a league official, rec teams only or birth certificate can be considered as proof SAFETY CONCERNS 1. Batters will not throw bat. (Umpire's Judgment) a. After a game warning, any batter throwing bat, In umpires judgment, from either team, will be called out. 2. Runners must slide to avoid, in Umpire' s Judgment, MALICIOUS CONTACT or "give themselves up." a. Failure to do so can result in runner being called out. b. Flagrant violations can result in ejection from game. Note: this is umpire's judgment. 3. All batters and runners are required to wear helmets. a. Runners, who, in umpire's Judgment, intentionally remove their helmets, will be called out. 4. The 8, 10, 11, 12 year old divisions are encouraged to use chin straps on all batting helmets. 5. Anyone on field (player or coach) under the age of 18 must wear a helmet. 6. All catchers must wear full protective gear, including catchers helmet, a. Mask with throat protector b. "Hockey style mask" meets this requirement c. Leg guards d. Chest protector e. Athletic supporter with protective cup
WEATHER CONDITIONS 1. In the event of rain, every effort will be made to continue and complete the tournament. However, one or more of the following formats may be instituted at the discretion of the Tournament Director! Teams must be prepared to play at ANYTIME! i. The run rule will be lowered to eight (8) runs after three innings, six (6) runs after four innings and four (4) runs after five innings. ii. One hour time limit and/or five innings of play. iii. In the event of extreme heat and/or humidity, the safety and welfare of the players will be a primary concern of the Tournament Staff. Games may / or will be shortened to the above mentioned formats. 2. It is not our intention to 'rain- out' games or not allow you to play! The BBC and Volunteers will do everything humanly possible to get games in during the weekend! The Brookville Baseball Club reserves the sole right to cancel the tournament due to weather and provide refunds based on a 3 game pro rate 3. Teams will be placed in bracket based on record in pool play. a. Ties within pool will be broken in the following manner. i. Head to head ii. Fewest runs allowed iii. Run differential (no more than 8 runs per game) iv. Coin toss IT IS TEAMS RESPONSIBILITY TO CHECK BRACKET PLACEMENT AFTER POOL PLAY IS COMPLETED GAME TIME LIMITS WILL BE IN FORCE FOR ALL GAMES, EXCEPTION: THE FINAL GAME IN BRACKET PLAY. RUN RULES AND TIE BREAKER RULE, WILL BE IN FORCE FOR ALL GAMES. There will be a 12 run rule after three (3) innings, 10 run rule after four (4) innings, 6 run rule after five (5) innings. There will be a one hour and 50 minute time limit. No new inning. Teams will finish the inning unless home team is batting and ahead. Games may end in a tie in pool play. Bracket play games must have a winner.
BROOKVILLE BASEBALL CLUB TOURNAMENT RULES 8 YEAR OLDS (Coach Pitch) PLAYERS CANNOT BE NINE (9) BEFORE MAY 1 ST OF CURRENT YEAR. 1. Games will be six (6) innings or one hour and thirty minutes. 2. 60 foot bases and 46 foot pitching distance. 3. Ten fielders will be used. Normal positions, with four outfielders. a Outfielders must be in the grass. b You can start with 9 players. The number 10 spot in batting order will be an out 4. One coach is allowed in the outfield when his/her team is on defense. 5. The fielding pitcher must be within five (5) feet of the pitching rubber and behind the front edge of the pitching rubber until ball is pitched 6. The designated pitcher will pitch overhand from the pitching rubber. The designated pitcher MUST NOT TO INTERFERE with the ball, fielders, OR runner. 7. Six (6) pitches, including foul balls, will constitute a turn at bat. EXCEPTION: foul ball on sixth pitch will not count as a pitch,. 8. Swinging strikes will be called. Three (3) strikes are an out. 9. If a batted ball hits designated pitcher, it is a DEAD BALL, no pitch, no strike. 10 No Walks. 11. No infield fly rule in effect. 12. Batter can not run on dropped third strike. 13. No Bunting. a If the umpire judges, that the batter bunted or attempted to bunt, the pitch is a strike. 14. No leading off is permitted. a One team warning per game will be issued. b 2 nd offense, base runner will be called out if they leave the base before the ball crosses the plate. This will not affect any other play that is being made on a batted ball. 15. Play is stopped when the ball is in control of an infielder and the lead runner has been stopped.
a Coaches, please don't send runners if the infielder is in control of the ball. i ii If you wouldn't send a runner at a higher level, don't send him at this level. We are trying to teach them how to play the game correctly. b Infielders can request time but ONLY the umpire can grant a time out. 16. Continuous batting order and free substitution apply. (ROSTER BATTING) 17. Inning at bat consist of three (3) outs or eight (8) runs. In effect for all innings EXEPT LAST. 18. Ten (10) run rule applies after 4 innings, or 3 1 /2 if home team is ahead.

Once a pitcher is replaced as a pitcher in a game, he may not come back as a pitcher in that game. 6. On the second trip to the same pitcher in the same inning by the manager or coach, that pitcher must be removed as a pitcher for the remainder of the game. 7. Runners can lead off 8. Runners can steal bases. 9. Balks will be enforced only after a pitcher has received a warning a each pitcher will receive one warning per game 10. Continuous batting order. Free substitution on defense. (ROSTER BATTING) 11. Games are 6 innings 12. There will be a 12 run rule after three (3) innings, 10 run rule after four (4) innings, 6 run rule after (5) innings. 13. (Can start with 8, 9 th spot in batting order will be an out) 3. A pitcher may only pitch 3 innings a game. 4. ONE PITCH OR MORE AN INNING CONSTITUTES AN INNING. 5. BROOKVILLE BASEBALL CLUB RULES 13 AND 15/16 YEAR OLDS Eligible Players cannot be over the listed age limit before May 1 st of the current year. OHIO HIGH SCHOOL RULES APPLY (no more than 12 innings of pitching for each pitcher during the tournament. One Pitch constitutes an inning). All Bats must be BBCOR for 15/1 13U may use BBCOR or BPF 1.15 1. A team may choose to roster bat, free substitutions are allowed by this team a. If a team chooses to bat 9 play 9, OHSAA substitution rules apply 2. 9 fielders will be used. (Can start with 8, 9 th spot in batting order will be an out) 3. Once a pitcher is replaced as a pitcher in a game, he may not come back as a pitcher in that game. 4.
