We are dedicated to promoting teamwork, good sportsmanship, and a working knowledge of the sport. PLEASE NOTE: LSLL REFUND POLICY: Refunds will not be allowed after a player has participated in any team practice. LSLL Code of Conduct / Rev. 2/00

ATHLETE'S CODE OF CONDUCT 1. I will attend all practices, games and meetings, and any other team function, on time. 2. I will show respect towards all coaches, adults and players at all times. 3. I will demonstrate good sportsmanship on and off the field. 4. I will not fight, use bad language, put down my teammates, or argue with my coaches. 5. I will stay within the established areas of the sidelines and team bench areas during games. 6. I understand that I risk being ejected and/or suspended from a game or further league participation if I display unsportsmanlike behavior. 7. I will be coachable and ready to learn. 8. I will be a team player and always put the team first. 9. I will obey the coaches and the rules of my sport. 10. I will try my best to learn and have fun. 11. I understand that the use or possession of drugs, alcohol, any tobacco product, or participation in any illegal activities will be reason for ejection from the team and/or any league participation. 12. I will respect my equipment and take care of it; if I don't I will pay to replace it. 13. I will show proper respect for an official's judgment and interpretation of the rules. I will not argue judgment calls by the umpires. Please Note: SIGNATURE SHEET POLICY: Athletes will not be allowed to participate in any team practice until the code of conduct signature sheet is completed and returned to the league. LSLL/Code of Conduct/ Rev. 2/00

PARENTS CODE OF CONDUCT 1. Parents need to be made aware of the Rules, Regulations and philosophy of Little League Baseball. Parents should support the efforts of the volunteer coaches and of the league. Please be a positive influence on the program or be willing to volunteer your services to improve it. Please present your opinions and problems to officers of the league in a constructive manner. Demonstrate that you recognize the effort expended by the volunteer personnel by refraining from unsportsmanlike conduct. 2. The use of profanity, drugs, alcohol, or tobacco during any Lake Stevens Little League event is prohibited. The use of any tobacco products on school property is prohibited. (It is an illegal act.) This will result in your immediate ejection from school property. 3. Never argue with an official or coach during practice or games. Any complaint or concern can be made in writing, first to the head coach, then to the Lake Stevens Little League Board of Directors, if needed. All complaints will be promptly investigated. (The board meets the third Thursday of every month at The Boys & Girls Club of Lake Stevens; meetings are open to the public.) Never voice any complaints or concerns towards coaches, umpires, or league officials in front of the players. 4. Understand that your child will be given every opportunity to participate and to compete; however, the safety of our athletes is our number one concern. 5. Any parent who enters the playing field during a game (except for an injury to your child) risks their, or their child's, immediate removal from the field and/or disqualification from further participation. This rule shall be enforced by the game's officials, team coaches and/or Lake Stevens Little League Board Members. 6. Any parent who displays unsportsmanlike behavior during a game risks their, or their child s, immediate removal from field and/or disqualification from further participation. The game's officials, team coaches and/or Lake Stevens Little League board members shall enforce this rule. Set an example for your child by always showing good sportsmanship. 7. Applaud good plays and overlook errors. Congratulate the winner and encourage the loser. Enjoy the game for what it is. Try to praise your child's hustle and effort. Recognize that Little Leaguers are children, not professional players; they need encouragement, not criticism. Allow your child to have fun and play as a child. 8. Realize that the umpire is closest to the play and that each umpire calls each play as he/she sees it from their vantagepoint. The umpire is a volunteer who has assumed a difficult but necessary role. Parents will show proper respect of an official's judgment and interpretation of the rules. 9. Parents shall respect the equipment given to their child and take care of it. Parents shall be responsible to pay to replace equipment that is lost or damaged by alteration or neglect. 10. The parent SHALL inform the coach PERSONALLY, and provide WRITTEN permission for their child to walk, ride a bike, or to be picked up by someone other than the parent from games and/or practice. 11. In consideration to all coaches, parents please be PROMPT when bringing or picking up your child from practice or games. Coaches may not leave the field until all children have been accounted for. 12. Parental participation is the key to the league s success. If possible, please show your support by volunteering in your child s league. Please join in the total effort. For information contact the head coach or your division coordinator. LSLL/Code of Conduct/ Rev. 1/05
