Beat the Twins 7-3 Tuesday night to improve to 12-5 on the road this season, their best road record through 17 games in franchise history the Rockies are now 10-3 in series opening games this season. IT S STILL EARLY, BUT NOT AS EARLY... Colorado is 25-15, tied for the most wins in the National League (Washington Nationals) it is the most wins in franchise history through 40 games and the first time they have been in first place through 40 games. The Rockies are 10 games over.500 for the second time this season (also last Thursday), the first time they have been 10 games over.500 since 2010 (Sept. 27). THINGS ARE DIFFERENT The Rockies are 140-179 all-time in Interleague play, 88-74 at home and 52-105 on the road Colorado is 45-50 all-time vs. the AL Central. Colorado went 9-11 vs. the American League in 2016 the Rockies have not finished a season with a winning record in Interleague play since 2011. Senzatela earned his sixth win of the season on Sunday, tied for the most wins in the National League with Clayton Kershaw Freeland s four wins is tied for fourth in the league. Rookie right-handed pitcher German Márquez has made four starts, going 1-2 with a 4.88 ERA (24.0 IP, 13 ER) Márquez eight shutout innings vs. the Chicago Cubs last Wednesday and took a no-hitter six innings he became the fifth Rockies pitcher (sixth time) in franchise history to pitch at least six no-hit innings at Coors Field (last: Jorge De La Rosa, May 16, 2014 vs. San Diego). DON T LET THE BEARD FOOL YOU Charlie Blackmon hit his ninth home run and recorded his 30th RBI last night per Elias, the only other player in the last 10 seasons to have 30 RBIs from the leadoff spot in the team s first 40 games was Ian Kinsler for the Rangers in 2009. Blackmon currently leads the Majors with six triples, is second in the NL with 51 hits, third with 24 extra-base hits and tied for seventh with 30 RBI. Six triples, nine home runs, 30 RBI and 51 hits are the most in MLB by a leadoff hitter among MLB center fielders, ranks second in home runs (Mike Trout), first in RBI, first in extra-base hits and third in batting average. ONE The Rockies are 9-0 in one-run games so far this season, the only team in MLB to be undefeated in one-run games only Kansas City, also with nine, has as many one-run wins, thus far Colorado went 12-20 in one-run games in 2016. The MLB record for most one-run wins without a loss is 11, held by the 1972 Mets. Acquired from Tampa Bay on Jan. 28, 2016 along with left-handed pitcher Jake McGee in exchange for outfielder Corey Dickerson and infielder Kevin Padlo. Pronounced HAIR-mahn MAR-kehz. ON THE MARQ Earned his first win of the season May 10 at Coors Field vs. the Chicago Cubs pitched a career-high eight shutout innings with three hits, one walk and a career-high tying eight strikeouts. Tossed six no-hit innings before Kris Bryan doubled to leadoff the seventh inning Márquez became the fifth Rockies pitcher (sixth time) to toss at least six no-hit innings at Coors Field (also: De La Rosa, Chacin, Thomson, Astacio 2x).
