Welcome Welcome to the second annual Waves Project Charity Match, October 14 th, 2017. Linea de Fuego is honored to team up with The Waves Project to support the great work they do with wounded veterans. There is no way we can truly thank all the volunteers who helped put this together, and all the competitors who signed up to participate except to say that the need is real, the help is honest, and you will touch lives in ways you cannot imagine. Shoot fast, shoot straight, and have a great time! Bart Del Rio, Match Director The WAVES Project The WAVES Project is a 501 3 (c) Non-Profit and has been established to provide an opportunity for American Veterans with service connected disabilities and their families to experience scuba diving. Each veteran and a dive companion of their choice can experience the freedom of scuba diving for free. We take each candidate and their dive buddy through open water certification. From classroom to open water dives, you will experience the many benefits to scuba...regardless of your injury. We work with all levels of the military from brain trauma, double and triple amputees to PTSD. Help a wounded veteran reach the water Linea de Fuego Linea de Fuego is a USPSA affiliated shooting club that runs regularly scheduled USPSA and 3-Gun matches at the North County Shootist Association Range in Pala, CA. Our matches are open to all shooters (membership is not required) and we welcome new shooters. Shooters, let it rain lead 2

Match Rules & Range Policies Cold Range Linea de Fuego has a cold range policy; all guns are to be loaded only when on the firing line under the direction of a Range Officer. Guns will be unloaded and holstered when competitors are on the range, except when the gun is taken out for checking, cleaning, or dry firing in a designated safety area. Safety Areas These will be clearly marked with Safe Area signs. In these areas you will be able to carry out repairs, do practice draws and dry firing, or just show off your gun to a fellow competitor. Do not handle live or dummy ammunition in any safety area! Magazines and speedloaders can be loaded at the stages or anywhere else but not in the safety areas. Violations will result in a match DQ. Holstering, Casing, or Handling of Firearms These may be done only in a designated safety area. Any gun handling in the car parking areas or anywhere away from a safety area is prohibited and may result in disqualification from the match under Rule 10.5.1. Alcohol No alcoholic beverages or non-prescription drugs are to be consumed on the range at any time. Hazard Areas Climbing on hillsides or berms is not permitted. Children should be closely supervised at all times. Eye and ear protection is required for all competitors and spectators. Please do not cross any hazard lines, which are clearly marked. Range Officers The RO s are there to ensure your safety. Please follow their instructions and heed any warnings they may give. If they believe your gun-handling has become unsafe, they will take immediate corrective action even if no prior warning has been given. If you hear the command STOP, FREEZE, or any similar command from an RO, STOP in place immediately with the muzzle pointed downrange, finger off the trigger, safety on, and await further instructions. Disqualification Policy Disqualification of competitors from the match will take place for violations of the USPSA rules. This applies to sign-in areas as well as the match stage areas. Rearranging, moving, knocking down, etc., any stage props such as barrels, walls, etc., will be considered unsportsmanlike conduct and dealt with accordingly. 5

Match Rules & Range Policies Unsafe Gun or Ammunition You are responsible for using safe ammunition in a safe gun. Any gun or ammo deemed unsafe by an RO will be withdrawn from the match. Unserviceable guns may be changed between stages with the permission of the range master. First Aid & Competitor Services The first aid station will be located in the Registration and Stats area, which will also serve as an information center. Lost and found will also be located here. Stage Diagrams The stage diagrams shown in this book may differ from the actual stages. Please inspect each stage carefully and ask about any changes. If you do not ask, we will assume that you have noted and understood any changes. All vision barriers and walls are classified as hard cover and are presumed to extend to infinity. Taping and Resetting Targets Competitors are expected to tape and reset targets. We will need everyone s help in order to keep the match on schedule. Please do not tape or reset targets until they have been scored. If in doubt, WAIT and ASK THE RO. Scores Scoring will be done using club supplied tablets running Practiscore. Please help ensure that the ROs have the correct shooter at or before the make ready command is given so that we can keep the match running on time. Scores will be posted to http://lineadefuego.net/scores at the conclusion of the match (after the last tablet has returned to the stats area), and to the Practiscore website (search for LdF) shortly after that. Cease Fires The North County Shootist Association range has a mine access road that passes just to the north (up the hill). In the event of vehicle traffic a cease fire will be called. Cease fire immediately; keep your muzzle pointed in a safe direction, and wait for the RO to clear you. You will be given a re-shoot. Significant Delay In the event of any unforeseen significant delay the range will be available on Sunday morning (October 16 th ) for shooters to complete the stages. 6

Range Map & Directions The match will be held at the North County Shootist Association range in North County San Diego on the Pala Indian Reservation (close to the Pala Casino). From interstate 15 take State Highway 76 east. Turn left at stop light for the Pala Casino and Resort onto Pala Mission Road. Proceed east on Pala Mission Road until you come to Henderson Road (just past the mission). Turn left on to Henderson Road. Follow this road about 1/2 mile until you arrive at a double swinging metal gate. Stay on the dirt road and drive through a gate past a sign that reads "SHOOTERS DOWN RANGE". Continue on the dirt road until you come to the parking area. If you're a GPS user the range entrance is located at 33.372425 North, 117.066321 West. 7
