Indoor Kickball Rules & Regulations 2014 Gameday Sports Leagues, Inc. Setup Teams are required to wear their assigned team shirts (custom or official Gameday shirts) to each game. Teams are penalized 1 run per player not wearing their team shirt or team color (solid colors only, no designs, stripes, etc.). Maximum 3 runs given to opponent per game. Athletic, non-marking shoes must be worn at all times, no exceptions (i.e. no barefeet, sandals, cleats, etc). Official kickball is 10.5 in diameter and will be provided at each game by referee. Each game will have (1) kickball referee trained by Gameday Sports Leagues. Basics All players must sign Gameday Sports Leagues waiver of liability prior to participating in any activity. Team rosters are limited to a maximum of 15 players. Each team will roshambo (Rock, Paper, Scissors) for home and away. Teams must have a minimum of 6 players to field an official team. A team needs a minimum of 2 males, 2 females to avoid forfeiting a game. To field a full team, i.e. 8 players on defense, a team needs at least 3 females and 3 males. A team may pick up (2) substitutes to field a team. If a team is short players, missing players do NOT count as an out. Teams may add a player to the game until the 4 th inning. At the start of the 4 th inning, no players may be added. Players may not be added mid-inning. Teams may not pick up substitutes for playoffs. All playoff players must be on the official roster via www.gamedayboise.com and have played at least one game during the regular season prior to the playoffs. o Note: In the event of a player participating on two separate teams within the same league, said player must choose one team for the duration of the playoffs. This rule is intended to prevent teams from stacking rosters as they win/lose. Each game is 50 minutes or 9 innings, whichever comes first. A game will be counted as official after 4 complete innings. 8 runs max. per inning.

No run limit in the final inning (referee will call final inning). Kicking Mercy Rule: If a team is ahead by 10 runs after 5 complete innings, the LOSING team has the option to end the game. In the case of inclement weather, Gameday Sports Leagues will have discretion in proceeding with or cancelling the games for that evening. Extra innings may be played as time allows. For playoffs only, tiebreakers will be announced. Every player on a team must kick. Teams must maintain the same lineup throughout the game. A player must wait until the ball crosses the front of the plate to kick it. The ball must be kicked in front of or to the side of the plate. It cannot be kicked backward. The ball must be contacted to qualify as a kick. Players may not stop the ball with their foot. The ball must remain in front of the designated team sideline area. Foot or leg contact must be made to qualify as a kick. Teams may not have more than 2 of the same gender in a row. A team may rotate men or women through the lineup as needed if there is an excess number of a gender. E.g. 10 men and 3 women, the 3 women will rotate in between every 2 men in the lineup so that every player can still kick (although they are restricted in the field). Example Incorrect Lineup (3 males in a row) Correct Lineup (No more than 2) F F M F F or M M F M F M F M F M Balls kicked backward (into bleachers/teammates) is a foul, 2 nd occurrence is an out. A ball that is kicked off the ceiling is an automatic out. Balls that hit the ceiling on secondary contact are valid, i.e. balls kicked off a sidewall and then hitting the ceiling. The ball is still live and runners may advance as usual.

3 balls results in a walk (if a player of the same gender is on base, that runner advances). Bunt Rules (Men Only): The ball must reach a side wall or the infield/outfield line within 3 seconds to avoid being ruled a man bunt. A man bunt is an automatic out. Outs Three (3) outs end the team s half inning. Two strikes and the kicker is out. A kicked ball caught in the air is an out. A kicked ball that bounces off any surface, other than the floor, may be caught for an out. E.g. Balls kicked off the walls may be caught for an out. A ball kicked on top of the net is an out; however, if the ball touches the back or side wall prior to resting on top of the net, it is a ground rule single. A ball that simply touches the net is LIVE and is not an out. A ball thrown to a fielder touching a base that a runner is forced to is out. Runners are forced to a new base if, and only if, there are already 2 runners on the current base (see baserunning for more detail). The ball is poison therefore any runner that is off the base during live play and is touched by the ball will be considered Out. Headshots are not legal and the runner will be called safe. If the runner ducks or dodges or slides to avoid the ball and then is hit in the head, the runner will be called out. Baserunning Up to 2 baserunners may occupy a single base. On a force play when a runner is forced to the next base, the leading runner (runner on base the longest) will be out but only if a runner has not left the base. No stealing. No head first slides, unless diving back to a base. Runner is out when sliding headfirst, but play is still live (NOT dead). While running the bases, if a ball is thrown at the runner, he/she may catch the ball to avoid being out. If the ball is caught, the runner may kick the ball against any of the 3 walls in fair territory within 3 steps or 3 seconds. More than 3 steps, 3 seconds, or kicking the ball against the gym divider, even if the ball ricochets off a side wall, results in an out.

o Note: A player on defense (fielder) may attempt to block the ball, but cannot make contact with the runner or interference will be called. If a defender touches the ball after it has been kicked, and then the ball touches the gym divider, the runner is NOT OUT. A runner cannot catch their own kicked ball, even off of a deflection. The ball must be thrown or kicked intentionally at the runner by a fielder in order for a runner to catch the ball. If a runner is on base, a ball kicked by a teammate cannot be caughtnnn If the kicked ball by the runner is caught in the air (before touching the ground), the runner will be called out. If a runner attempts to catch the ball but fails, i.e. ball is dropped, the runner is out. Runners may not strip the ball from a defensive player. Runners do not have to tag up on a fly ball. Runners may pass their teammates on their bases. A ball thrown out of play will grant the all runners one extra base from the last reached base. The referee will stop play and enforce this rule. Any contact by a runner with a fielder who is making a play on the ball, will result in an out (interference). The fielder has the right to make a play on the ball. Unintentional contact will be determined by the referee. Runners may advance at their own peril until time is called by the referee. Pitching/Catching When rolling the ball, one foot must be on the pitching until the ball is kicked. The pitch must be made with your hands. No curves! If a ball bounces above the knee at any time during the pitch, it will immediately be called Bouncy, in which case the kicker has the option of kicking the ball or taking the pitch as a ball. A strike is called when any part of the ball crosses home plate or a kicker whiffs at the ball. The referee will determine if it is a strike or not. 2 strikes is an out. Pitchers only may act as an infielder or outfielder (see Fielding). Fielding All players must remain behind their respective lines (outfield and infield) until the ball is kicked. If a defensive player crosses early, i.e. outfield crossing into infield territory, play will continue if

it advantageous for the kicker, i.e. a safe hit. If the ball is caught or a runner is called out, play will stop and the kicker will re-kick. Note: Players will not re-kick in the event of a runner attempting to gain extra bases is called out on a tag play, i.e. runner stretching a single into a double, double into a homerun, etc. Fielders must remain behind the Halo (see diagram below) until the ball is kicked. Pitchers may choose to be infield or outfield and do not have to choose before the ball is kicked. Teams must have at least 1 male and 1 female in both the infield and outfield at all times. A minimum of 3 defensive players must remain behind the midline (behind the pitcher) at all times. A minimum of 3 defensive players must remain in front of the midline. A fielder cannot obstruct the runner from reaching a base unless the fielder is making a play on the ball, in which case fielding interference would be called on the runner. If the runner is hindered in the baseline, they will be ruled safe unless the fielder is making a play on the ball. Sportsmanship Each Gameday Sports League official has final ruling on plays in a game. In the case of a disputed call after the game, a protest may be submitted within 24 hours to the League Director, Eric Leaman, eric@gamedayboise.com.
