Envisioned by artist Anish Kapoor and designer Cecil Balmond, two renowned talents of their generation, the ArcelorMittal Orbit was originally constructed as a viewing tower for the 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games. Today we are proud to open our doors to visitors from the UK and beyond. Catering & refreshments On your break for lunch, our café The Podium Bar & Kitchen has a number of bespoke menu options, tailored specifically for groups. We are proud to serve, fresh, local, seasonal menus created in house by our Head Chef, Simon Monkfield. We can provide many options for your group ranging from coffee and pastries, to a relaxed lunch, afternoon tea or 3 course dinner. New for 2016! Anish Kapoor has invited Belgian artist Carsten Höller to create a giant slide for the ArcelorMittal Orbit in London. This is a unique collaboration between two of the world s leading artists and will be a major new art installation for the capital. The slide will be opening in the Spring of 2016 and will be the world s longest and tallest tunnel slide, with transparent sections so you can marvel at the view, as you make the 40 second descent.
Coach Parking The ArcelorMittal Orbit has allocated pick up and set down points for coaches, 5 metres from the attraction. Please inform us if you will be travelling by coach when making your booking. Coach parking facilities are located on the ground floor of the multi-storey car park in the north end of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, just off Waterden Road.
