All dates and times are subject to change. All tournaments have a $10.00 entrance fee per person which will be used for closest to pin contests and prize money. Tournament prizes will be based on the number of member participation and prizes are determined by Tournament Committee. Registration deadline is one week prior to the event. April 22 nd, 2018 Scramble 18 hole scramble format Each partner hits a tee shot, select the best tee shot and hit shots from there. Continue this process until the ball is holed out. One club length placement without improving playing surface or stance. Team will get 50% combined handicap Must use each players tee shot twice on each nine. May 20 th, 2018 Better Ball of Partners 18 hole stroke play with competitors receiving 90% of their handicap. Strokes fall according to the score card. The lower net score of each hole is used towards the team s net score. All USGA rule apply June 10 th, 2018 Shamble 18 hole shamble style played from the blue tees. Players receive 75% of their handicap. Team selects which drive to use then play their own ball until the ball is holed out. Must use 2 drives per person not including par 3 s The two scores are then combined for your total score. I will then deduct handicap from your total score. Men 59 & younger- Blue Tees Men 60 & over- White Tees You may play the ball up in your own fairway throughout the hole and up in the rough your first shot after tee shot, then the ball must be played down in the rough the remainder of the hole. Total points in for each player 18 holes are added together to total your final team score August 12 th, 2018 6-6-6 Tournament 18 hole multiple format tournament. The team will get 25% of combined handicap. The combined handicap total is deducted from the 18 hole score. Holes 1 through 6 are played as scramble. One club length without improving playing surface or stance. Must use each players drive at least once on these 6 holes. Holes 7 through 12 are played as better ball of partners. Partners play their own ball and the better score is used for the team. Holes 13 through 18 on White are played as alternate shot. Partners tee off and choose which to play. Player whose tee shot was not used will hit the next shot, and then alternate until the ball is holed out. Must use each players drive at least once on these 6 holes. September 16 th, 2018 Red, White, Blue Scramble 18 hole scramble format played alternating red, white, or blue tees. Holes 1, 4, 7, 10, 13, & 16 are played from Red Tees Holes 2, 5, 8, 11, 14, & 17 are played from White Tees Holes 3, 6, 9, 12, 15 & 18 are played from Blue Tees. All players tee off from the appropriate red, white, or blue tee. Team then proceeds in a scramble format. One club length placement without improving playing surface or stance. Players play their own ball on the par 3 s. The two balls are used to make team score on par 3 s. Tournament will be played with 50% on par 3 s and 20% of combined handicap for the holes with scramble format. October 21 st, 2018 Combined Score Championship 18 hole stroke play Each player will receive 100% of their handicap. Each player will play their own ball throughout with both players score counting on each hole.
Play ball down unless ruled otherwise by the committee Bunkers will be played as lift, clean, & place. If your ball is in water within a bunker take a free drop within the bunker then lift, clean, & place (if necessary) Fescue areas will play as lost ball so if you hit it in there you may play it out of fescue, but hit a provisional to keep pace of play up. If all 4 players determine a ball did not enter a hazard but you cannot find the ball due to the ball plugging decide as a group closest point, no closer to the hole, and take a free drop and play in from there (confirm with committee). The combined handicap will be deducted from the team score at the end of play.
Mainland Golf Course 2-Person Rules & Procedures TOURNAMENTS Members in good standing may participate in tournaments by placing their names on the posted registration sheet located at the designated location. Members are considered to be in good standing when free of any and all debts owed to or suspensions levied by the Tournament Committee. The maximum number of players in a tournament will be determined by the Golf Course Staff. Registration deadline is 12 PM one week prior to the event. A member signing another member s name is responsible for that member s attendance. Failure to appear and play for a tournament once a player is assigned will result in a $25.00 fine plus 10 pt. deduction in total standings. A tournament will be canceled if carts are prohibited on the course. STARTING TIMES All tournaments have an 8:00 tee time start with starting times being posted by 4:00 PM the Thursday prior to the event. If the player arrives at his starting time, ready to play, within 5 minutes after his/her starting time, in the absence of circumstances that warrant waiving the penalty of disqualification as provided in Rule 33-7, the penalty for failure to start on time is 2 stroke penalty in stroke play. Penalty for lateness beyond five minutes is disqualification. SUBSTITUTES All substitutes must have a GHIN Handicap or they will play as a scratch. CARE of the COURSE Before leaving a bunker, rake and smooth over all holes and footprints. Repair divot holes and damage to the putting green made by impact of ball.
Replace fairway divots. Please obey all cart regulations or restrictions. Do not drive within 30 feet of any green. ETIQUETTE TEES Please make sure that any electronic device taken onto the course does not distract other players. It is the groups responsibility to keep up with the group in front. All tournaments will be played form the white tees unless modified by the Tournament Committee. CONDITIONS OF PLAY RULES The Tournament Committee will conduct and set the conditions of play for each tournament. Conditions of play will be posted and announced prior to each tournament. The Tournament Committee will settle any dispute arising from tournament play. Players must report infractions of the rules of golf during tournament play to any member of the Tournament Committee who shall investigate any such complaints. USGA rule govern all play except those modified by Local Rules. LOCAL RULES Unless otherwise stated by the Tournament Committee, a player may roll their ball in their own fairway. Stones in bunkers are moveable obstructions (Rule 24-1 applies). Drainage tubes and service pipes are immoveable obstructions. A player is entitled to a free drop in the bunker. A player whose ball rests in an agreed upon footprint while in a bunker may lift their ball without penalty, smooth the footprint, then place the ball back in the bunker.
A player whose ball rests in an agreed upon erosion rut is entitled to free drop in bunker. HANDICAPS Handicaps are maintained and issued through the Handicap Committee. Handicaps are established by registering a minimum of 5 scores to the golf course or Tournament Committee.
