Navy League Summer Camp LCdr (NL) Steven Drury Operations Orders: Navy League Summer Camp Event 1. Navy League Summer Camp 2. Summer Camp this year will be held at the Ukrainian Youth Camp in Grafton Ontario. Directions at the end of these Ops Orders. From Saturday Aug 16 (staff arrival) Sunday Aug 17 (Cadets arrive) to Saturday August 24 (cadets depart) to Sunday August 25 (staff depart) Purpose 3 To augment the cadet-training program provided by the Navy League of Canada. Conduct 4 This week will be completed in three phases: a. Phase One Arrival and cabin assignments b. Phase Two Conduct of training: and c. Phase Three Closing Ceremony and dismissal of Cadets 5. Phase One Cadets are to arrive at the summer camp location from 1400 (2:00PM) 1500 (3:00pm). Medications for cadets are to be given to the medical officer upon arrival. 6. Note: Boatswain, and Sail training material needed by such candidates are to be brought with each candidate. Training material is available on the web at www.magnificentsquadron.com and click on the Manual button on the left side. 7. Phase Two - will begin upon the completion of phase one. The timings will be as laid down in the schedule section of this order. 8. Classes will be conducted in 10 Divisions. Port x 2, Starboard x 2 (Regular Camp), Boatswain x 2, Marksmanship, Sail and First Aid x 2 Powerboat. The courses are put together by the squadron officer staff and all candidates will have been nominated by their Commanding Officer. 9. Phase Three - Upon completion of phase two all personnel will muster for the closing and awards ceremonies. These ceremonies are done to acknowledge the hard work and accomplishments by all members.

Administration 10. Registration all registration forms shall be endorsed by the Corps Commanding Officer. Application forms and cheque for the corps required total funds shall be forwarded to the Navy League of Canada Ontario Division by July 15. Medical forms are to be sent with the application forms 11. Accommodations Cadets will bed down in assigned cabins at the campground. Each cabin holds a certain number of people and for this reason we are assigning the cadets to cabins. Cadets are to bring a sleeping bag, pillow and a foam or single air mattress as the cabins have wooden bunks to sleep on. 12. All Participants are reminded that: a) the program shall be strictly adhered to and no variations shall be entertained to accommodate travel time. b) Any candidates with specific medical or dietary restrictions requiring special programming, access, or time for medication application shall identify it in advance. 13. Meals shall be taken in the Mess. It is imperative that proper protocol and deportment be demonstrated in this facility. 14. Dress Candidates are to arrive in their complete uniform. Officers are to arrive in summer alternates. (short sleeved white shirt and slip-ons, and black trousers.) This is for a camp photo and the opening ceremonies. Everyone will be allowed to change into camp clothing as listed in the kit list, which was included in the camp application. Uniforms will be hung up in cabins and as part of the cabin inspection will be inspected daily. Uniforms will also be worn for closing ceremonies. Upon dismissal those candidates wishing to change will be give the opportunity to do so. 15. Timings the timing shall be as follows: a) Phase One 1400 to 1500 Sunday arrival and cabin assignments b) Phase Two 1500 Sunday until 1000 Saturday c) Phase Three after 1200 Saturday 16. Duties Staff and PO2 and above will perform watch duties, and other activities, as assigned throughout the week. Watch schedule will be posted in the Mess. 17. Colours and Sunset will be completed daily with the Officer of the watch in charge.

18. Transportation All corps are to provide transportation to and from the camp. All Commanding Officers are to ensure that the OD1 (Intent to Travel) is filled out and sent to appropriate people. 19. Emergency Contact In case you need to contact the camp for an emergency please call the following number 613 797 1058 please be aware phone is a cell and may not be monitored all the time. Please leave a message and someone will return your call as soon as possible. 20. Hospital Information The nearest hospital to the camp ground is located in Cobourg, Ontario. The address is 1000 Depalma Dr. Cobourg, Ontario K9A 5W6. The phone number is 905 372 6811. In the unlikely event we have to transport a cadet to the hospital we will notify the parents and advise them on the situation.
