Judges Education Summary This course is designed strictly to offer a basis in judges education. Offering general knowledge on how to present oneself professionally, understand the responsibilities and objectives of judging, comprehend the elements of a scoresheet, scoring, critiquing and what to look for in each genre. It in no way determines or ranks a judges ability level. For comprehension purposes within the ICU Disciplines, there are two (2) separate ICU Judges Education Courses (see below) - 1. Cheerleading 2. Performance Cheer. The Phase criteria of each course is nearly identical with the exception of the content reflective of the respective disciplines. ICU Disciplines 1. CHEERLEADING Includes: Club, All Star, Recreational (Rec), Scholastic, Special Athlete, ParaCheer, National Team (all respective age levels within each sector) a. Team Cheer Novice (L1) - Premier (L6) Divisions b. Partner Stunt c. Group Stunt d. Team STUNT 2. PERFORMANCE CHEER Includes: Club, All Star, Recreational (Rec), Scholastic, Special Athlete, ParaCheer, National Team (all respective age levels within each sector) a. Team Cheer Pom b. Team Cheer Hip Hop c. Team Cheer Jazz d. Team Cheer High Kick e. Team Cheer Doubles- Pom, Hip Hop, Jazz, High Kick

Explanation I. Judges Education - Phase One (1) Summary: Student must complete the Phase One (1) two (2) day course with exam Term: Valid for four (4) calendar years following course completion Register online with payment Complete the Phase One (1) course Complete & pass the Classmarker Phase One (1) on-line Exam Results and scores are available immediately on the downloaded certificate. Phase One (1) Certificate is presented to all students pass or fail upon completion of the Phase One (1) Course and Exam (certificate lists the student s score) II. Judges Education Phase Two (2) Summary: Student must complete the Phase Two (2) Practical Course / Exam including but not limited to video judging of six (6) teams in each Team Division, as well as six (6) teams in one (1) Doubles Division Term: Valid for four (4) calendar years following course completion Register online with payment (included with Phase One (1) Registration) Complete the Phase One (1) Practical Course Pass the Phase Two (2) Judges Proficiency Practical Exam The student s scores, rankings and comments will be evaluated and a Phase Two (2) Proficiency Certificate will be awarded to students who have already completed Phase One (1); and Phase Two (2) - demonstrating a general working knowledge of the scoresheet, the ability to write constructive comments/ feedback, as well as the ability to rank the teams in an acceptable order At this time, the student has the option to create a personal ICU Judges Profile for a $25 annual fee (at no cost until 1 January of the following year) by submitting the following materials: a. Student s Contact Information (full name, mailing address, phone, email address)

b. Student s Head Shot/Photo c. Student s Judging Experience CV (one (1) page or less) d. Optional- Student s Coaching CV and / or Student s Athlete CV (with three (3) references each CV), if applicable Note: Upon the Student s completion of Phase Two (2) and set up of the Student s ICU Judge Profile, the Student will receive the following items: - ICU Judge Lanyard - ICU Judge ID Card (valid for four (4) calendar years) - Email updates on ICU Courses and News III. Judges Education - Phase Three (3)* * Eligibility available to former and current Coaches OR Athletes only. CV with references must be provided Summary: Within one (1) calendar year of Phase One (1) & Phase Two (2) Course completion, the student must prove proficiency in successfully judging one hundred (100) teams comprising of the following: Cheerleading: A minimum of seventy-five (75) teams within the Junior, Senior or Open Median (L3) - Premier (L6) Levels, and a minimum of another twenty-five (25) teams from any other division (excluding individuals divisions). All related Scholastic, All Star, Rec, Club, ParaCheer, Special Athlete and National Team Divisions within the Median (L3)- Premier (L6) Division range will be accepted Performance Cheer: A minimum of seventy-five (75) teams within the Junior, Senior or Open Pom, Jazz, Hip Hop or Hick Kick Team Divisions, and a minimum of another twenty-five (25) teams from any other division (excluding individuals divisions). All related Scholastic, All Star, Rec, Club, ParaCheer, Special Athlete and National Team divisions within these respective Performance Cheer Divisions will be accepted Term: Valid for one (1) calendar following course completion Judge ICU approved competitions meeting the criteria mentioned above Once the full criteria is completed, submit the following items to the ICU: a. If not completed in the Phase Two (2) ICU Judge Profile set up, the Student s Coach OR Athlete CV with three (3) references (name and contact information)

b. Within one (1) month of the event, each respective competition s team performance schedule accompanied by the Student s event judging schedule sent directly by the Competition Director for each event of the Phase One (1), Phase Two (2) and Phase Three (3) requirements -and submission of the enclosed documents above ( a and b ), the Phase Three (3) Proficiency Certificate will be awarded IV. Judges Education - Phase Four (4)* * Eligibility available to former and current Coaches AND Athletes only. CV with references must be provided Summary: Within one (1) calendar year of Phase One (1) & Phase Two (2) Course completion, the student must prove proficiency in successfully judging two hundred (200) teams comprising of the following: Cheerleading: A minimum of one hundred fifty (150) teams within the Junior, Senior or Open Median (L3) - Premier (L6) Levels, and a minimum of another fifty (50) teams from any other division, excluding Individuals Divisions. All related Scholastic, All Star, Rec, Club, ParaCheer, Special Athlete and National Team Divisions within the Median (L3)- Premier (L6) Division range will be accepted Performance Cheer: A minimum of one-hundred fifty (150) teams within the Junior, Senior or Open Pom, Jazz, Hip Hop or Hick Kick Team Divisions, and a minimum of another fifty (50) teams from any other division, excluding Individuals Divisions. All related Scholastic, All Star, Rec, Club, ParaCheer, Special Athlete and National Team divisions within these respective Performance Cheer Divisions will be accepted Term: Valid for one (1) calendar following course completion Judge ICU approved competitions meeting the criteria mentioned above Once the full criteria is completed, submit the following items to the ICU: a.
