The six-run frame was the Cubs biggest ninth-inning outburst since June 16, 2015 at Cleveland when the club scored seven runs to close out a 17-0 victory against the Indians. With a victory tonight or tomorrow, the Cubs would win a series on the road for the first time in more than six weeks when they took two of three games here in Pittsburgh April 24-26. In fact, the Cubs began the season by winning their first four series on the road they have since lost six series in row starting with their three-game set in Boston April 28-30. At 33-33, the Cubs have nestled upon the.500 mark for the 14th time this season by way of various circuitous routes the Cubs were also 1-1, 2-2, 6-6, 7-7, 16-16, 17-17, 18-18, 19-19, 25-25, 27-27, 30-30, 31-31 and 32-32 the Cubs have not been more than four games over.500 or two games under.500 at any point this season the Cubs are one of only six teams in the National League with a record at or above.500. THAT S EITHER HERE OR THERE: The Cubs are 20-15 at home compared to a 13-18 road mark this season Chicago started 4-6 at the Friendly Confines, but has gone 16-9 in its last 25 games at Wrigley Field since May 2 conversely, the Cubs began their road schedule by winning eight of their first 11 games through April 25, but have since gone just 5-15 away from home, a stretch that included their first ninegame road losing streak since 2012. At the plate, Chicago is batting.243 (284-for-1,170) in 35 home games, 14 points higher than its.229 average (245-for-1,069) in 31 road games the team is averaging 4.91 runs per game at home and 4.55 runs on the road Chicago has a 4.14 home ERA (151 ER/328.0 IP) and a 4.30 road ERA (127 ER/266.0 IP).
