Minor Football Championship Trophy THE FRANK KING CUP Frank was a native Rock man from Tralee and played both Hurling and Football with the Austin Stacks Club from 1949 to 1955. Then, on marriage to Peggy O Sullivan from Ballyduff he went to reside in Ballyduff for a few years and worked in the family business there. He played Senior Hurling with Ballyduff and, won two Senior County Championships with them in 1959 and 1960. He won Tralee divisional championships, the Houlihan-McCarthy Cup, with Austin Stacks and he was a selector with The Rock when they won the All Ireland Club title in 1977. He took over as County Chairman in 1979 and during his eight year tenure he presided over a golden era in Kerry football. His greatest influence however was at ground level where his dignified encouragement was a huge boost to less talented players. In 1991, his wife Peggy and family presented a Cup in his honour to the Kerry County Board and it is presented each year to the winners of the Minor Football Championship.
