WFDF 2017 Asia Oceanic Ultimate & Guts Club Championships Manila Philippines 17 th 20 th August, 2017 AOUGCC Bulletin #1 (Issued 21 st Feb 2017) The Philippine Flying Disc Association (PFDA) is looking forward to hosting the WFDF 2017 Asia Oceanic Ultimate & Guts Club Championships at the Ayala Alabang Country Club in Manila, the Philippines from the 17 th -20 th of August, 2017 in the Men s, Women s, Mixed and Master Men s Ultimate divisions. The tournament will also include a Guts division. Participating teams and National Federations are kindly asked to please do everything you can to support the TOC by respecting deadlines and by responding with all the necessary data efficiently. In order to ensure the TOC can successfully plan and run the event payments must be made on time. We are working hard to make all processes as simple as possible, however we need you to understand that deadlines are in place for good reasons and therefore any teams not meeting deadlines could risk losing their division bid offer. All Asia Oceanic WFDF National Federation (NF) members are invited to register teams to participate at AOUGCC. The WFDF Ultimate Committee have created a bid allocation list and NF s are encouraged to accept or decline their bids as soon as possible. Only CLUB TEAMS from regular, organizational and associate member organisations may participate. All players on a club team roster must be members of the National Association. This event is a club team event and therefore teams should not be a selection of National representative players. Below are the details that you need in order to start registering your teams. In addition, we have included some basic information to help you with planning and to assist with making your travel plans. EVENT DATES The tournament will run from Thursday 17 th Sunday 20 th August, 2017 (4 days). Registration, the Captain s & Spirit Captain s Meetings and the Opening Ceremony will take place on the first day (Thursday). The Opening Ceremony will take place on Thursday the 17 th August at 19:00. The Captains & Spirit Captains meetings will take place following the Opening Ceremony at the same location. Attendance by at least one (1) representative for EACH TEAM is required to attend each meeting. The following days 2,3 & 4 will consist of tournament games and the finals. We do expect each team (in uniform) to participate in the Parade of Nations during the Trading Night on Friday 18 th August. Saturday 19 th August will be the Players Party. The Final Day will be Sunday 20 th August, with the Medal and Closing Ceremonies taking place immediately after the finals. Should weather cause delays to play, the schedule will be adjusted accordingly to ensure the finals are played as scheduled on day 4.
LOCATION & MAPS AOUGCC will use the same venue all week. The Ayala Alabang Country Club is an 8 hectare grass field site hosting 13 fields. The venue is located around 30 minutes South of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila, Philippines. The venue has hosted the successful Manila Spirits for the past years. CLIMATE The expected average temperature during August for Manila ranges from 25 30 degrees daily. The weather is a typical tropical climate with rain expected often. ACCOMMODATION AOUGCC TOC arranged accommodation will be limited. Please plan early. The TOC has partnered with hostels and serviced apartments for tournament Accommodation. Rooms will range from USD $20 to USD $60 per room (2 people). The accommodation will be in or around Alabang and Makati which is a 45 minute drive from the venue. To book your accommodation, please refer to the event Website in March for further instructions. Teams should book direct with the hotels using the code as supplied on the website.
TRANSPORT A transportation shuttle service will be provided for teams between the tournament hotels, the fields, registration venue and the parties. Please note: the shuttle bus is only available to those who purchase the event hotel package from the TOC. Access to buses will be clearly marked on your event accreditation. Buses will run on a pre-arranged timetable which will be advised closer to the event. There will also be additional vans available for teams to rent during the tournament. The Venue has parking available. FOOD & DRINKS Breakfast will be included in some accommodation options and available at your accommodation. Please check carefully when selecting your accommodation. Fruit will be available in the morning at the fields. Lunch during days 2,3,4 will be provided by the TOC. The cost of this is covered by your players fee. Sample lunch menu: rice, vegetable pork/ chicken/ meat & dessert. There will be a vegetarian option. Rice meals, eggs, sandwiches, fruit, alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverages and snacks will be available for purchase at the fields for anyone not wishing to pre-purchase a meal package. Fresh drinking water will be available throughout the venue and for players at each field. VISA s You are responsible for obtaining the correct paperwork to visit the Philippines to compete at AOUGCC 2017. Please note that we cannot provide specific advice on the process, but we do strongly recommend that you get started as soon as possible. www.immigration.gov.ph The TOC can provide your team administrator with a letter confirming your team s registration at the event. To do that we generally require confirmation of the following details for all the members of your group: full name (as shown on passport), passport number, date of birth and role on team (i.e. player, coach, manager, etc). Please make sure you leave us some time to produce this document: do not assume that we can send it back the same day! Find out if you will need a hard copy with original signature obviously that will take extra time so please plan ahead. Please note: we cannot and will not provide a formal invitation to attend the event and non-ability to enter the Philippines is not grounds for a request of a refund for a team and/or player fees.

This option should be chosen for anyone attending the event as part of a team who is not included on the team roster (ie- Administrative staff, coach, chaperone) All bank fees and transfer charges are at the cost of the payer if there are any outstanding monies they will be collected in cash during on-site event registration. STEP 2 On Saturday 11 th March, each National Federation will be sent the team bid confirmation and amount due via email. Full team fee payment (prior to the 17 th March, 2017) will secure your teams bid in each division. Any teams not meeting the payment deadline risk losing their bid. Teams are kindly asked to ensure that their payments and transfers cover the cost of any banking fees. MESSAGE FROM THE PFDA PRESIDENT Mabuhay from the Philippine Islands, We are looking forward to hosting the 2017 Asian Oceanic Ultimate and Guts Club Championships. We welcome all participating club teams and their supporters from countries all over South East Asia and Asian Oceanic in this prestigious event. We are also very excited to host a new discipline of disc sports to our country: GUTS. It will truly be something that both the Philippine and Asian Ultimate Communities will be interested to practice and master in time. This being the second WFDF event that Philippines in the last 5 years, you can be rest assured that we will do our best in providing all participants, spectators and partners an event to help further develop disc sports here in Asia.
