Through this initiative which was kicked off using the Commonwealth Games activation site we have had almost 3,000 people try our sport. e have had more than 120 Clubs, from every discipline and in every State and Territory deliver Come And Try ay activities. Importantly we have reached thousands and thousands through our digital, print, and communication strategies. ake no mistake, this initiative has been hugely successful for our sport. ell done to all involved and particularly to the clubs and individuals that took part. You have done yourselves, your clubs, and our sport proud and this initiative has shown our power when we work together in a meaningful way. Thank you. And from Shooting Australia s Community Development Officer, Jaime Drumm, who coordinated the whole program: This has been more than a membership drive, although that has definitely been one of the many positive outcomes for the sport. e ve worked together, with one voice, nationwide, we ve said come and try our sport, we re really proud of who we are and what our sport is about and if you give it a try you ll understand and most likely be hooked too! During this event we ve had some of the oldest shooting clubs in the world engaging people, we ve had small regional clubs grow their membership by 50%. e ve broken down barriers with members of local government, state government P s, and Federal inisters. opportunities, you ve had radio, print media, and television coverage around the country. hile the numbers are important, they don t tell the whole story of the impact that you have all made within your communities, and together across the country. Sometimes it might feel like it s just you and your gun, or even your club. ISSF Pistol Australia Nationals Brisbane 2018 The PSQ Board and the Nationals Organising Committee wish to sincerely thank the PSQ members who put time aside to assist PSQ host the Championships. There were many volunteer roles to be had and we had a small but very dedicated group of members who stepped up to take on any task that needed doing. The dedication, cooperation, enthusiasm and willingness to be part of the volunteer crew was sincerely appreciated and helped share the responsibility of hosting such a major event for our sport. The Championships concluded with a Presentation Dinner at the East Leagues Club at Coorparoo on the Sunday night, where the Aggregate and other special awards were presented. Attendees enjoyed an excellent meal and great venue, and we were very pleased that our Patron Robbie Katter Jnr P was able to attend.
