Cycling to Work Challenges Try-Out Roadshows Regional Beginners Guides extreme Try-Out Special Needs Schools Programmes Community Events and Festivals Pedal-Powered Deliveries Megabikes and More

BikeBoost Cycle to Work Challenges Web-based, but with recruitment roadshows, incentive gifts, multimedia marketing and some strategic supported bike loans for specific workplaces. As an example look at our work in Chester (website below), where we recruited 616 participants from 78 workplaces in three weeks. They cycled 42,000 miles during the challenge period. BikeBoost Loan and Support Scheme This programme puts more emphasis on the hardware. We lend high quality bikes and accessories for four weeks to boost cycling commuter numbers at workplaces. It involve a web-based element, plus recruitment roadshows and ongoing support. It s an ideal addition to any existing salary sacrifice scheme, and can work at a single workplace, or city-wide. Our Sheffield project, for example, is recruiting new or returning cyclists, to create 600 new, regular cycling commuters. Continuation rates are around 70%. Community BikeBoost Challenges Similar to the schemes for workplaces but operating (usually) in lowincome neighbourhoods, supporting people in gaining access to work and enjoying better health An example is our work in parts of Dundee, where where 91% of participants are continuing to cycle regularly. We have also run similar schemes to support cycling to school. www.bikeboost.org/chester www.bikeboost.org/shefield www.bikeboost.org/dundee www.getcycling.org.uk

Activity Days for Schools Children ride thirty or so cycles on the yard, while another group enjoy our amazing bikes video and dramatic role play sessions. An hour of activity, entertainment and education to each of up to 300 children per day. Sometimes we operate in a sports hall and schools come to us. Recent feedback from a tour of ten Lewisham schools gave us ten out of ten in all assessment criteria. Dynamo Challenge for Schools Here we use the excitement of our schools cycling activity day to set a challenge for the children to try one new physical activity within the following two weeks - with school and parental support. Our presenter returns to discover how they have all done, listen to their stories, give out certificates etc. One recent programme was within Tewkesbury s Count Me in Programme. Universities and Colleges Our Unibikes programme gives students a new, fully-equipped bike ready for them on the first day of term. We support with coaching, getinto-cycling classes and bike checkups on campus. There s also an optional bike buy-back at the end of summer term. We have a wide range of other tried and tested services for colleges and universities. www.getcycling.org.uk www.dynamochallenge.org.uk www.getcycling.org.uk/unibikes Get Cycling is a Registered Community Interest Company

Bike Try-Out Events We bring a selection from our 600 or so cycles, plus confidence building skills. Our Get Cycling Roadshows for the public are fantastic fun and a great way to bring the cycling message to your area. They give everyone, from very small children through to 70-plus-year-olds, the chance to try out both conventional and more specialised cycles, in a safe and very supportive environment. We originated bike try-out roadshows over ten years ago, and continue to refine them. We work in city centres, sports halls and at public events. Clients include events companies and charities. KMX Karts Track Our KMX Karts Experience is a colourfully branded track, with 15 to 25 exciting KMX Karts for adults and children. An event in its own right, or an exciting addition to any of our other events and programmes. KMX Karts perform well on grass, and are a healthy, action-packed novelty for any event. We also use them in our healthy-living roadshows and on team-building events for businesses. Park Events and Play-Days For the under-fives: a set of up to 40 very varied and unusual childsized trikes, rickshaws, tandems, handcycles, etc. Ideal for playdays in parks, or as an adjunct to any of our events. This attraction is perfect for events in sports halls over the winter, and can be configured as a charity fundraising event. A selection of these cycles can be a great attraction in a separate arena next to our main roadshow track. www.getcycling.org.uk

extreme try-out An exciting new bike attraction for teenagers and young adults. It s a portable MTB skills track, giving an interactive event including skills challenges, within the ability of almost all young people. The sessions consist of three courses (easy medium and hard). We bring ten Diamondback mountain bikes. extreme Try-Out is perfect for schools work and youth inclusion. It s hosted by an ex downhill mountain bike and snowboard pro, a current mountain bike 4X and BMX Champion, and an international downhill rider. We supply a design template for a poster and leaflet in the style of the event. Megabikes Our ten exciting megabikes are mainly multi-seat, humanpowered machines, some with their own professional driver. We usually bring a spectacular bike along to our larger public bike try-out roadshows, but can also supply them in their own right. We also have pedal-powered Scalextric racing games, and people-mover rickshaw services. Cycle Study Tours for Professionals In conjunction with Transport Initiatives we offer, for public sector professionals, study tours by bicycle of the cycling infrastructure projects delivered in York. These will give participants a chance to see and experience what it s like to cycle in a highly rated cycling friendly city with one of the engineers who contributed to its success. You can also visit Get Cycling s HQ for a guided tour. Testimonials and references readily supplied

Special Needs Try-Out Events and Sales We have the UK s only touring try-out fleet of adapted cycles. Up to thirty amazing machines, to meet every special need we have come across. We run these roadshows in schools, or in sports halls or parks for the whole family. We have also developed a very successful and innovative Bikes not Barriers loan, support and guided rides programme. We are often called on by special schools and charities to acquire and deliver fleets of special needs cycles. We do this after assessment visits, and also supply training and servicing. Green-Link Delivery and Distribution Our Green-Link emission-free delivery and distribution service was set up to meet the needs of local authorities. It saves money, increases efficiency, and gives well-deserved green PR. We estimate that Green-Link services have replaced almost a million van journeys in total. There s lots more information on our main website, and on www.green-link.co.uk Customised PromoCycles Get your message to where the people are. A mobile communication platform for the city centre, local events, workplace foyers, etc. We make these to order, complete with your own graphics. www.getcycling.org.uk

Festivals and Extended Tours We have proven experience in the project management of major cycling festivals. We can operate literally hundreds of cycles, on five or six themed try-out tracks. We do everything: strategic planning, local liaison, publicity, design, show website, facilities hire, stewarding, exhibitor management, stunt show, etc. The emphasis is on cycling for all, rather than cycle sport. As an example: over 8000 attended the two-day York Festival, and almost half of them rode our bikes. See specific websites for our previous and current cycling festivals, at www.getcycling.org.uk We also supply extensive and varied touring events, largely based on bike try-out opportunities and community involvement. Regional Cycling Guides We have produced many varieties of these, for local authorities, colleges and NGOs. Some clients are on their third edition! Our job is to make things easy for you, giving you a first class product with sharp local stories and information, which looks like you did it all yourself. We visit you, and guide you through a choice from 48 pre-designed pages, and add six or so of your own. Our standard formats are 32 pages and 16 pages at A4. A Welsh version is also available. You can, of course simply order our non-customised generic beginners guide to cycling, complete with display boxes. To discuss your ideas call us on 01904 636812
