Join Sport Systems 505 Cycling and The ALS Association of NM for the 9th Annual 505 Cycling Classic (formerly the Adoption Exchange Classic) Omnium and fundraising event. The 2017 505 Cycling Classic will have 3 events in 2 days, and the winner will be determined by the rider with the most points in each category. The road race and criterium events are included in the New Mexico Road Series. All proceeds of this race will be donated to The ALS Association of NM, in support of their mission to help people living with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, and to leave no stone unturned in the search for a cure. Late registration and packet pick up on Friday, March 31st, from 4-7 pm at Sport Systems, 6915 Montgomery NE, Albuquerque, NM, 87109 NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION. Packets pick up ONLY on race day. Costs Omnium (all 3 events): $90.00 dollars. Collegiate Racers (all 3 events): $80.00 dollars One event (Either the RR, the TT or the CRIT): $50.00 dollars. Collegiate Racers one event (Either the RR, the TT or the CRIT):$40.00 dollars. Any 2 events combination: $80.00 dollars. Collegiate Racers: any 2 events combinations: $70.00 Dollars Juniors 16 & under will race free if register in their own category. Late registration: add $10.00 dollars to all racers except Collegiate Racers. Extra CRIT: $5.00 dollars. Team Registration: Team registration will be available for the Omnium only. Five riders minimum. Cost: $80.00 dollars per rider. Donate $250.00 dollars or more to The ALS Association of NM and your race registration will be waived. One race entry will be waived for each $250.00 dollars donated to The ALS Association of NM. One-Day Beginners License: $10.00 dollars p/day. One-day Beginner Licenses are for beginners and riders that have never held a USAC annual license with a category higher than category 5 men road, track or cyclocross or category 5 women road, track or cyclo-cross. One-Day License for former racers: $25.00 dollars. Any former member with a racing category excluded by the Beginner One-day Race license is eligible to purchase an Experienced One-day Race license once per year. Saturday, April 1 st - Morning The Doug Schneebeck Memorial Time Trial (TT) *First rider goes off at ~ 7:30 AM.* *The riders starting order will be posted on race day.* Doug Schneebeck died peacefully in his sleep Oct. 17, 2016 surrounded by family members at the age of 56. Doug battled ALS for 5 long years, and throughout that time he continued to ride his bike with various modifications. Throughout that journey, he became a national Paralympic champion. He established Oso High Endurance Sports, which raised more than $405,000 for ALS research and simultaneously started a blog in which he used insight and humor to chronicle his struggle with ALS even as he prepared for cycling competitions. Doug is a big part of the heart of 505 Cycling. Course Description: The 20K course (out and back) along Atrisco Vista Blvd, starting just to the North of Albuquerque Freightliner, going north towards Double Eagle Airport and returning to start area. The pavement is in very good condition and there is a wide

bike lane both directions. Please use bike lane except to pass. Course is open to traffic. Directions: From the Big I (I-25/I-40) take I-40 West to Exit No. 149, now named Atrisco Vista, formerly Paseo Del Volcan (top of Nine Mile Hill west of Albuquerque) and proceed north 1/4 mile. Parking is on the west side of Atrisco Vista (Paseo Del Volcan). Start will be on Atrisco Vista (Paseo Del Volcan). No parking on the Frontage road. Category M & W Juniors (U16) & Tandem/Team TT (Cat 2/3/4) Womens Citizen/Cat 4/5 & College Women B Mens Citizen/Cat 5 & College Men C Mens Master 45+ (Cat 2/3/4) Womens P1/2/3 & College Women A Mens Cat 4 & College Men B Mens P1/2/3 & College Men A ~ Start Times ~7:30 AM ~7:45 AM ~8:00 AM ~8:30 AM ~9:00 AM ~9:30 AM ~10:00 AM With the exception of the first rider for the Time Trial, all other times are approximate and depend on turnout. DO NOT MISS YOUR TT START TIME. You will be relegated to the next available time slot; however, the clock will start ticking at your assigned time. For the TT, riders will leave on 30 sec intervals. No warm ups on TT race course. Para/Hand Cyclist or Tandem Time Trial The 505 Cycling Classic is able to add Para/Hand Cyclist & Tandem time slots for the Time Trial. Please contact the race director if you are interested in participating. There will NOT be a separate category or separate prizes for Para/Hand Cyclist or Tandem. Para/Hand Cyclists are allowed to register for the RR and ITT only. Tandems are allowed to register for the ITT only. Registration will be done per rider. Juniors Junior gear roll out will be conducted as per USAC requirements.

Saturday, April 1 st - Afternoon The 505 Cycling Criterium *First race goes off at ~ 10:30 AM.* Course: The 505 Cycling Classic Criterium will be held at the Sandia Speedway on a paved 1.1 mile road course. The 36 foot wide road course incorporates technical and sweeping turns as well as a bank turns. Directions: From ABQ: Take I-40 west and take the Atrisco Vista, formally known as Paseo de Volcan, exit (exit 149). Turn left, heading South, cross the freeway, and make your first right. Head west on the Frontage road for four miles, turn left at the stop sign, Shelly Rd., and head south. The Musco lights should be visible from the road. At the stop sign, Speedway Blvd., turn right and then pull into the gate on your left. Take exit 175 toward NM-14/Cedar Crest. Merge onto NM-333 E Turn left onto NM-14N/NM-14 Scenic N Turn Left toward Paako Dr. Drive down approximate 2 miles and the Paako Community Center will be on your right hand side. Course: The road race course will have a long loop and a short loop. Depending of the category, riders will race either loops or laps on the short loop. The long loop will be a 42 miles comprising of HW14, HW344, going up Heart Break, HW 306(Frost Road) and the Gutierrez Canyon. The short loop will be a 31.25 mile loop comprising of HW14, HW344, going up Heart Break Hill and HW306 (Frost road).

Long Loop (LL): 1. Start: Paa-ko Community Center 2. Racers will take a left turn on NM 14 and they will travel east until the intersection with NM 344. 3. Riders will make a right hand turn on NM 344. 4. They will follow NM 344 up Heart Break Hill, thru Cedar Grove until the intersection with NM 306 (a.k.a Frost Road). 5. Riders will make a right hand turn on NM 306. 6. They will follow NM 306 up to the intersection with Riders Rd. 7. Riders will take a left turn on Riders road. 8. Riders will proceed on Riders Rd., which will change to Gutierrez Canyon Rd up to the intersection with N. Zamora Rd. 9. Riders will take a right turn on N. Zamora Rd. 10. Riders will proceed on N. Zamora Rd; go under I-40, to the intersection with NM 333. 11. Riders will take a right turn on NM 333. 12. Riders will proceed on NM 333 until the intersection with HW14 (Traffic light). 13. Riders will make a right hand turn on NM 14, 14. Riders will proceed on NM 14, up Mail Box Hill. 15. Riders will continue on NM 14, past the triangle, to the finish line @ mile marker 11. Short Loop (SL): 1. Start: Paa-ko Community Center 2. Racers will take a left turn on NM 14 and they will travel east until the intersection with NM 344. 3. Riders will make a right hand turn on NM 344. 4. They will follow NM 344 up Heart Break Hill, thru Cedar Grove until the intersection with NM 306 (a.k.a. Frost Road). 5. Riders will make a right hand turn on NM 306. 6. Riders will proceed on NM 306(a.k.a. Frost rd.) until the intersection to NM14. 7. Riders will make a right hand turn on NM 14. 8. Riders will proceed on NM 14 to the finish line @ mile marker 11. Neutral zone: The road race will start on NM14 for all races. Neutral zone will be observed throughout the Paako neighborhood. Yellow Line Rule: The road race will be taking place on open roads. Yellow line rules will be enforced. DO NOT CROSS THE YELLOW LINE OR YOU WILL BE DQ FROM THE RACE. NO EXCEPTIONS!!

Leader s Jersey: A leader s jersey, provided by Castelli, will be handed out on Sunday morning to the rider leading the Omnium race at the end of the criterium and for the overall winner of the Omnium race on Sunday in each category. Omnium leaders must wear the leader s jersey at the road race. Feed zone: The feed zone for the RR will be at the top of Heartbreak Hill. It is the rider s responsibility to provide a feeder. King/Queen of the Mountain (Cat P/1/2/3 Races) The Men P/1/2/3 and Women P/1/2/3 will be competing for the King of Heartbreak Hill (KOHH) & Queen of Heartbreak Hill (QOHH) purse of $200.00 dollars total, being $100.00 dollars for the Men P1/2/3 KOHH and $100.00 dollars for the Women P/1/2/3 QOHH. The King and Queen of Heartbreak Hill will be determined by adding the points awarded at the top of Heartbreak Hill. Riders will receive 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 point to the first five riders to reach the top of Heartbreak Hill in each lap. The riders that accumulate the most points will be declared King and Queen of Heartbreak Hill. To be eligible for the prize for King and Queen of Heartbreak Hill, the winner must have been registered and completed the road race. If two or more riders have an equal number of climbing points, the rider having obtained the highest number of first places at the top of Heartbreak Hill will be declared the winner. Should the riders still be equal, their order shall be determined by the number of second, third, fourth, fifth places obtained at the top of Heartbreak Hill. If still tied, the rider with the better placing in the individual general classification by points will be the winner. Collegiate Racers Out of courtesy to any Collegiate Racer looking for upgrade points, I will provide a separate result for Collegiate Racers. These results are parallel to the official race results and will not count towards the OMNIUM. There will NOT be a separate prize list for Collegiate Racers. They will be competing for prizes as USAC riders. Collegiate Racers will receive a discounted rate for their entry fees and they will be not being charged any late fees. Juniors Juniors 16 & under will race free if register as a junior. Juniors 17-18 will race their own category. Junior gear roll out will be conducted as per USAC requirements.

Omnium Scoring In order to be included for the overall OMNIUM prizes, the rider must be registered and he/she must complete all 3 events. For the purpose of scoring, 0 points will be added to your OMNIUM tally score in case you do not participate in all 3 events. The top 25 placed riders in each category will score points towards the OMNIUM. The rider with the most numbers of points in each category will be declared the winner. For the Time Trial and the CRIT, the top 25 placed riders in each category will be scored according to the table below: PLACE POINTS 1 st 25 2 nd 24 3 rd 23 4 th 22 5 th 21 6 th 20 25th 1 For the Road Race the top 25 riders in each category will be scored according to the table below: PLACE POINTS 1st 50 2 nd 48 3rd 46 4 th 44 5 th 42 6 th 40 25 th 2 Ties in the number of omnium points will be decided by the number of first place finishes. If competitors are still tied, the placement in the time trial will determine the overall Omnium winner.

Prizes The cash purse for the race will be $2,200.00 dollars total, including King and Queen of Heartbreak Hill and they will distribute between the Men P/1/2/3, Women P/1/2/3 & Master Men 45+ (Cat 2/3/4). All other categories will receive gift certificates from the race various sponsors. The 505 Cycling Classic will award cash prizes for the best 5 place riders on the overall Omnium for Men Pro/1/2/3 & Women Pro/1/2/3 categories. The 505 Cycling Classic will award cash prizes for the best 3 place riders on the overall Omnium for Master Men 45+ categories & gift certificates for the 4 th -5 th place. The 505 Cycling Classic will hand out merchandise for the best 3 place riders in the Omnium race in the Men & Women category 4, Men category 5 and Juniors. The winner of the Omnium race in each category will receive a Jersey from Castelli.
