Showers/change/restrooms (male & female), concession stand and basketball court will be open for spectators and swimmers. The competition pool has not been certified according to article 104.2.2C (4) of the USA Swimming rules and regulations. From Bakersfield: go east on Highway 58 to Mojave. Go north on Highway 14 approximately 40 miles to the Ridgecrest/Inyokern exit (Highway 178 east). Follow Highway 178 approximately 12 miles to the NAWS front gate. Continuing straight, follow the traffic circle 3/4 of the way around and turn right on Knox Rd. At the stop sign turn right on Blandy Ave and go approximately 1/2 mile to the stop sign (Lauritsen Road). Continue approximately.1 mile past the ball field - the Sports & Fitness facility will be on the right just past the outdoor rink. From Victorville: go north on Highway 395 approximately 90 miles to the Ridgecrest/China Lake exit. Follow China Lake Blvd approximately six miles to Inyokern Rd. Turn right and go through the NAWS front gate. Continuing straight, follow the traffic circle 3/4 of the way around and turn right on Knox Rd. At the stop sign turn right on Blandy Ave and go approximately 1/2 mile to the stop sign (Lauritsen Road). Continue approximately.1 mile past the ball field - the Sports & Fitness facility will be on the right just past the outdoor rink. Requirements for access to the NAWS Indoor Pool: 1. Enter at the main gate from Highway 178 (Inyokern Road). 2. Inform security that you are participating in the Beat the Cold Indoor Meet at the Sports & Fitness Center. 3. Driver must provide driver s license, current vehicle registration and insurance. 4. YOU MUST SEND TONY SMALL (tjsmall2005@live.com) THE FULL NAME AND DATE OF BIRTH OF ANYONE OVER THE AGE OF 16 WHO IS ATTENDING THE SWIM MEET AND DOES NOT ALREADY HAVE ACCESS TO THE BASE BY JAN 15, 2015. IF NOT, WE CANNOT GUARANTEE ACCESS. 5. Passengers 16 years and older should have a photo ID available for the sentry. 6. The sentry will have a list of all people attending the swim meet over the age of 16 at the main gate. 7. Questions, concerns or problems entering for the meet should be directed to Tony Small (760) 382-5040. Warm-up: Rules: Warm-ups on Saturday will begin at 8:30 AM and the meet will begin at 10:00. On Sunday, warm-ups begin at 7:30 AM and the meet will begin at 9:00. Warm-up times will be assigned. An estimated timeline, team timing and WARM-UP assignments will be posted at www.iwvswimteam.org on Wednesday, January 21st. 1. Current USA Swimming and CCS rules will govern the meet. 2. All Swimmers must be 2015 registered members of USA Swimming and present their card upon request. 3. Swimmers 19 years or older may compete in the 13 & up age group but are not eligible for awards. 4. All swimmers may compete in up to 5 events per day and 10 events total for the meet. At the discretion of the meet referee, and in an attempt to comply with the four-hour rule, a mandatory scratch down from five events may occur. Please indicate on your team Hy-Tek entry form which event you would scratch in the event of a mandatory scratch down by circling that event. On-line entries should also designate which events you would prefer to scratch if nothing is indicated, swimmers with five events will be scratched from the last (5 th ) event entered for that day. 5. Age on the first day of the meet will determine age throughout the meet. 6. Swimmers must compete in their age group. 7. Meet will be deck seeded using a master check-in system. Swimmers in the first four events must check in 30 minutes prior to the start of the meet and swimmers in later events must check in at least one (1) hour before the estimated start of the event. 8. 9. All events will be seeded according to submitted times. Verification of entered times should be available upon request of the meet referee.
10. A USA Swimming registered coach must supervise all warm-ups. If you don t have a USA Swimming registered coach at the meet, report to the deck referee for lane and coach assignment. Warm-up assignments will be posted at www.iwvswimteam.org on Wednesday, January 21st, as well as on deck and in the meet program. 11. Smoking and the use of tobacco products are prohibited on the pool deck and all areas used by swimmers. 12. Propane heaters are prohibited. 13. All swimmers will enter the pool with a 3 point entry during warm up and warm down. 14. Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms or locker rooms. 15. For Athlete Protection, Central California Swimming prohibits the use of photography and audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, behind the starting blocks during the start sequence throughout the meet. 16. Changing into or out of swimsuits other than in locker rooms or other designated areas is prohibited. 17. All Coaches and Officials must be able to show proof that USA Swimming membership requirements are met as of the dates of competition. Such proof shall be presented upon request by the Meet Referee and may be in the form of USAS Membership Card or through USAS Deck Pass. 18. Events will be timed finals. Events may be combined regardless of age or gender at the discretion of the meet referee. 19. Swimmers in the 500 free must provide their own lap counter, counting device and timers. The 500 free will be swum fastest to slowest according to submitted times and will alternate between girls and boys. 20. If there are an insufficient number of officials to allow for rotation, a 10-minute break will be taken every two hours. 21. Teams will be assigned lanes for timing. Teams will be assigned timing slots based on number of swimmers they have entered in the meet. Travel teams unable to support timing should notify the meet director when entries are submitted. 22. Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming member-coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a member-coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer's legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement. Entries: All entries must be submitted electronically either through the CCS Online Meet Entry System or using Hy-Tek Team Manager system. To use the CCS Online Entry System, enter at: http://www.centralcalswim.org/. Once on the CCS website, click on the Enter a Meet option on the Swim Meets drop-down menu. Online entry requires payment by credit card using the CCS secure site. There is no additional cost for online meet entries. Online meet entry fees are paid to CCS. Online entries are available to all swimmers (if swimmer team s policy permits to do so) regardless of LSC affiliation. To submit Hy-Tek Team Manager entries send the entry file and meet entry report on disk to the address below. (Instructions on how to create an electronic Meet Entry Report are available on the CCS website under the Hy-Tek support button on the Coaches Corner page.) Meet entries are due by 11:59 PM Friday, Jan. 16 th, 2015. Late entries will be accepted until 11:59 PM Thurs. Jan. 22nd, 2015 with $10 late fee per swimmer. Late entries may not be included in the meet program. Number of meet entries will be limited to 250 swimmers due to size of facility. No On-Deck Entries. OFFICIALS: The Meet Referee shall be in charge of the meet. Any questions regarding the conduct of the meet should be made directly to that person. Officials outside of CCS are welcome. Events may be combined regardless of age and gender at the discretion of the meet referee. ANY DISPUTED CALLS SHOULD FIRST CHANNEL THROUGH COACHES, THEN THE MEET REFEREE. In order for CCS teams and CCS individual athletes to claim the CCS Outreach Splash Fee Waiver, entries must be made either directly into the CCS online meet entry system (either through family or team accounts) or by uploading a team entry file to the CCS online entry system. To accomplish the latter, the team can log into its team meet entry account and select Online Meets, Meet Entries, Upload Entries. Awards: Scoring: The following age groups will swim together but be awarded separately: 6 & under and 7-8 13-14 and 15-18 Ribbons will be awarded to 1 st thru 8 th as follows: Automatically for 6 & under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 Upon request for 13-14, and 15-18. High point awards will be given to the 1 st place girl and boy in the following age groups: 6 & under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, and 15-18. Individual Events: 9, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 points for 1 st through 8 th place, respectively. Open events will be scored according to age group.
