INVITATION YOUTH NATIONS CUP 3 rd - 4 th June 2006 PROMOTER: ORGANIZER: World Minigolfsport Federation Dansk Minigolf Union PLACE OF COMPETITION: Location of courses: DK-5200 Odense, Moellemarksvej 84 concrete course A eternit course B TEAM COMPETITION: QUALIFICATION ROUNDS: The teams are set to two groups according to the team results of YEC 2005 in Pombal as follows: best + fourth ranked nation: team 1 in group A, team 2 of these nations in group B, team 3 of these nations in group A second + third ranked nation: team 1 in group B, team 2 of these nations in group A and team 3 of these nations in group B A draw will be done with remaining nations; two teams of same nation are set to different groups. The nations ranking according to the results of the previous year is calculated as follows: 1. team rank boys + girls each 5 nation points 2. team rank 3 points, 3. rank 2 points, 4. rank 1 point Points of boys and girls of each nation will be added together. A draw will be done between nations with identical points. The number of rounds depends on the number of participants; there is a maximum of 6 rounds for the first competition day and a maximum playing time until 6 p.m. The second competition day is started with shotgun start / maximum 2 rounds. End of qualification-rounds: 2. competition day, 11.00 a.m. SCORING QUALIFICATION ROUNDS INSIDE 2 GROUPS: Per round and 4-player team the worst of 4 results is cancelled. After each round points are given to all teams. For each beaten team a team gets 2 points For each equal score a team gets 1 point For each loss against another team a team gets 0 points If teams have same number of total points at the end of qualification rounds, the total shot score will decide on the ranking. If one or more teams have also the same shot score, a team sudden death will be played on course A with the rules of preliminary rounds (worst result per lane cancelled for 4-player teams). QUALIFICATION FOR THE FINALS: MODE OF THE FINALS: From each group the first 2 teams will be qualified for the semifinals, the teams ranked 3 and 4 will continue with the games for places 5-8. The finals are played with cup-system. Composition of the playing-groups: team 1 player 1 - team 2 player 1 team 2 player 2 - team 1 player 2 team 1 player 3 - team 2 player 3 team 2 player 4 - team 1 player 4 After 18 lanes the order inside each player-group is changed. Winner is the team with the lowest total score. Per round and 4-player team the worst of 4 results is cancelled. If there are no 3-player teams playing for the same rank (1-4, 5-8, in final round all matches), all 4 results will be counted and cancellation does not apply. Necessary play off: sudden death at the last played course. Per lane for a 4-player team the worst of 4 results is cancelled. 2
SEMIFINALS: semi-final 1: winner group A 2. group B semi-final 2: 2. group A winner group B FINALS: game for rank 3: loser semifinal 1 loser semifinal 2 final: winner semifinal 1 winner semifinal 2 GAMES FOR RANK 5 8: game 1 3. group A 4. group B game 2 4. group A 3. group B game for rank 7 loser game 1 loser game 2 game for rank 5 winner game 1 winner game 2 RULES IN CASE OF FINAL INTERRUPTION BEFORE THE PLANNED END: If the tournament is stopped before its planned end, the ranking will be done according to the decisions of WMF Youth Committee from 14 th 16 th November 2003 as follows: 1 final interruption during preliminary rounds Places 1-4: From each group the two teams with highest number of points are ranked according to their shot scores on double rounds, which all teams have completed (reason for example: in groups with different numbers of teams (i.e. 7 and 8 teams) the teams can win different numbers of points.) Placed from rank 5-8: analogously to rank 1-4 The other rankings are done as follows: All teams from rank 5 down in each group will be put in one pot and ranked according to their shots of double rounds, which all teams have completed. 2 final interruption during semi finals Interruption before all teams could finish the first 18 lanes The 4 teams will be ranked according to shot scores of preliminary rounds, worst ranking for each of these teams is rank 4. Ranks 5-8 analogously. Interruption, when all teams have finished 18 lanes Ranking according to the result of the the first 18 lanes of the semi final 3 final interruption after semi finals Winner is the one of the semi-final winners, who has the lower score in the semifinal. Ranks 3,5 and 7 will be defined analogously. 4 final interruption during the final All lanes played from both players in a playing-group are counted and shots of all players are added together and they form a team result. (It is not necessary anymore to compare different matches) PERMISSION TO TAKE PART: TEAM SIZE: all active members of the WMF, as long as they have come up to their obligations towards the WMF Per national federation are allowed maximum 3 teams. The composition of the teams is free. The start of up to 2 single players is allowed, the maximum number of starters per nation is limited to 12. Further male and female kids are welcome (born 1991 and later). Each team has 4 players, of which at least one has to be female. Teams with 3 players can participate, also only with male players, but worst result will not be cancelled per round. 3
ADDITIONAL INTERNATIONAL KIDS COMPETITION All participating female and male kids will be ranked, regardless of if they play in teams or only in single competition. The rounds of the first competition day and the first two rounds of the second competition day are counted. A separate category for female children is played, if there are at least 4 participants.
