Working with Education Authority with a view of developing a pitch on the site of the local primary school Unmet demand and identified projects The 2014 updated Bridging the Gap assessment identifies a need in and for the equivalent of 45 pitches (grass and all weather) using a standard based on per 1000 population. This is based on analysis including AGPs on education sites and education grass pitches (including education pitches significantly reduces the gap between identified pitch need, and existing pitch supply). When Education Grass pitches are excluded and just all-weather education pitches are included a deficit of 80 pitches was highlighted. This is based on a requirement for 451.77 acres of pitch provision in DCSDC, and there being a shortfall of 199.92 acres. (Note) 3 rd Generation pitches is calculated as being able to cater for x8 times greater usage than a standard grass pitch. In order to address this shortfall, Council have identified the following projects that can be used by the council to prioritise resources and continue to support the development of playing pitches in the new Council Area; & - Prioritised projects with timescales
