SPORT AND HOW I GOT THERE My addiction and love of triathlon is relatively recent, having never been a big sportsman in my earlier years. I played a bit of rugby and altogether a strong tendency for anything involving an adrenaline rush, with 10 years of freestyle roller-skating and skateboarding before a very short mountain biking spell which, similar to skateboarding, didn t end too well, but I gave it a try. Also had a very brief shot at motorsport racing but unfortunately, this was cut short due to the fact that I discovered I was epileptic. Having stopped all sort of physical activities as soon as I turned adult and party animal, having been a smoker and a great beer fan, I just took up running at the end of 2012 as a way to try and make myself feel better and shed a few kilos. It made me feel better but no improvement was really made other than in my head. In 2013 I tackled my first half-marathon and finished under two hours so I started to run more intensively, but still keeping up the smoking alongside. My big move from Paris to Geneva in 2015 gave me the perfect opportunity to make more radical life changes. I took sport to another level and shed over 20kg in the second-half of 2015. Basically, I looked at myself and everyday strived to be the best version of myself. It all really came together in 2016 with much more road running, as well as having a go at mountain races, trails and taking up cycling and just generally racing a lot more. The clincher was in 2017 with the final and best decision I ever made, quitting smoking and getting into the triathlon training. All the rest, is clear just by looking at the results. Allover, I feel that endurance racing through the combination of swimming, cycling and running is the playground I had been looking for since I was forced out of motorsport and honestly what s not to love?
LIFESTYLE If I had to describe myself, I would say that I m a relatively solitary animal, not completely but I like having my own world and playground and don t mind grinding out the hard hours alone. I live an easy and happy life, food is an important factor, as are quality beers, but putting it simply, I m a maniac: if I take on something, whether it is work, sport or even fun, I like to give it my all. As I like to say, anything you want does not just come easy. It s all about hard working and making it happen. It rather fits with my professional and personal life as I see or imagine it. If thinking of my spare time, I must admit that most of it is dedicated to training. The remainder I spend reading and enjoying culture, anything from music to films and cooking, or simply wandering around town and enjoying a good ice cream. To summarize it all, as my idol Ayrton Senna once said: «With mind power, determination, instinct and experience as well, you can fly very high.» So yeah, that s my everyday motto. TRAINING It is a big part of my everyday life, winter (NOV-MAR) is mostly about building strength and working on technique through the three disciplines, although most of the cycling is done through indoor turbo sessions. Then comes the best part of the year (APR-OCT), which permits all of this to happen outside and where possible through group training. I like to make riding and running social but in the water, it s not so important - fish don t talk as far as I know, right? Altogether, I train an average of 15hours, 5-6 days a week training aside from my work when peaking, and a little less during winter. I have recently started working with a coach as my goals need even more work and strength. That said, I m part of various groups and like training in good company or socially let s say. On making it happen, I like to work on feeling and mental performance in accordance with what the coach tells me to do. I spend a lot of time working-out my training plan and monitoring myself. So far, all I ve done and built is partially attributed to the benefits of being in good company, training and listening to what I m told. Also, I have a mental approach that helps myself in achieving a result. All in all, it s all about listening to yourself and putting your strengths, both mental and physical, packaged together correctly on a given day.

As detailed previously, it works as a package. Equipment plays a significant part in it, as do finances. Entry fees, hotels, travelling and above all, coaching and making it happen takes a lot of time but above everything else, it cost a significant amount of money to keep it going. I m looking for any partnership and finance that might help my racing and season planning to be shaped more easily so I can focus as much as possible on the training. Social media visibility, product review through my website and blogging as well as direct visibility on my outfits are part of what I can propose. Also, my work background has allowed me to develop my skills as a public speaker, addressing a public and confidently communicating is therefore an added value for any sponsor. Of course, anything is possible so don t hesitate to let me know what you re looking for so we can put a deal together.
