This meet will be a Division I, II, III, IV, V State Qualifying Meet. (Single team is $175.00) Payments made to : Corona del Sol Athletics Mail to: Corona del Sol Athletics/Aztec Invite 1001 E Knox Road Tempe AZ 85284 Entries Each school will be allowed four (4) entries per individual event and one (1) relay team in each relay event. Because of the size of the meet this year, entries will be entered on Athletic.net. Please use times from last year for best entry marks. If your athlete does not have a time/mark from last year please enter by hand time/mark from your time trials if you had one this year. We will be contesting Javelin this year and that will count as one (1) of the athlete s four (4) total events. Please have your names spelled correctly or how the kids want in both Max Preps and Athletic.net and both match up Thank you! Entries need to be entered on Athletic.net no later than Thursday, March 1st at 11:59pm Heat sheets should be available by late Friday. Substitutions will be allowed. If you are substituting an athlete, you will be required to complete change form at the coaches meeting and turn in. The form will require that you replace the athlete in the same heat and same lane, those should he reflected on the form. In field events, make changes at the event for the substituted athlete. Events All track events will run as finals (heats against time). Reasonable effort will be made to keep same school athletes separated in lane races. Track athletes must check in with the clerk of the course in the bullpen at the north end of the track. Three (3) attempts will be given in the horizontal jumps & throws. Top 9 to Finals. Javelin athletes will receive (4) total throws.
Throwing Implements: Weight -ins will take place on the south end of the track under the bleachers from 7-8:15 am. All implements will be become mutual property until completion of the meet and be able to be used by all competitors. Please make sure your implements are marked with your school name. CdS is not responsible for lost or damaged implements. Javelin As this is a new event in the state meet we want to ensure athletes get the chance to compete; however please ensure the athlete has a basic understanding of the event and safety considerations before entering them into the meet. Pole Vault Will complete coaches weight verification forms provided and tum in at the coaches meeting Saturday. Miscellaneous 4x200m: 4 turn stagger 4x400m: 3 turn stagger will be used 800m, 1600m, 3200m: Waterfall will be used for seeding, the game management may place them in boxes at the start of the race in conjunction with the starter's & timer's recommendations. Girls 3200m run will be run in the am as the first event. *Coaches Meeting: Will be in the West Bleachers (Home Side) on the South End at 8:20 am* Awards Medals will be given to the top 4 finishers in each event. Trophies will be awarded to the top Two (2) Girl's and Boy's teams. Team scoring will be 8 places (10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1). Javelin will be scored! Miscellaneous Trainers will be available next to the Track Shed on the South end near the Finish Line Concessions and T- Shirts will be available Only competing athletes will be allowed on the infield. Warm up area will be on the Varsity practice field west of the stadium Admission for Adults is $6.00, Under 10 years of age- Free, AlA passes allowed. Teams will be allowed canopies on the east side visitor bleachers only. Camps should be based on the east side or under west side bleachers. Coaches Hospitality room available all day for coaches and lunch and dinner will be provided
Bus Drop Off Please refer to the attached map regarding the bus lane on the North side of the school off of the Knox Road. Busses will be able to Park at the Mormon Church Lot just east of the school parking lot during school hours (until 2:30pm). Parking in the Rural and Knox Lot will be open after 2:30 for buses and spectators. White Mini Buses May park on the concrete pad next to the racquetball courts. Enter off of Rural Road lot on Alexander (the Light) and security in the lot will direct the buses.
