Referee s Report: Attached is District 3 incident reports as of January 5, 2018 Way too many issues with younger level coaches o Multiple associations involved o Mostly inexperienced/younger level coaches: Squirts/10U's a big problem o Lower level hockey is used to train and teach officials Our officials will make mistakes and that is OK. Coaches need to relax and not confront/yell/intimidate officials especially young and/or female officials

Annual Mite Pancake Breakfast being held Saturday, January 13 th Delano: Hosting THFF March 3 rd and Kids Day at the Rink during a Boys High School Hockey Game February 10 th Hosting 22 team Mite Jamboree on March 16-18 th open to all associations Utilizing outdoor ice at Rockford city rink for practices Traveling teams participating in some kind of Give Back event this season Mites to participate in outdoor Jamborees at Rockford city rink and at Delano s Puck-inthe-Park event January 20-21st Hopkins: Nothing to report Minneapolis: State tournament planning well underway Mound-Westonka: District 3 Board of Directors Meeting 2 of 5
Travel team season is moving along with varying degrees of success. No significant problems thus far. Mite teams may participate in a jamboree @ Waconia. MWHA Fire and Ice social event being held at Lord Fletchers on 1/27/17. North Metro: hosting MLK tournament this weekend Orono: Rink Update: All locker rooms are up and running now, working on the upper level and should be done in 6-8 weeks. Osseo Maple Grove: St Louis Park: report received; however, technical issues Wayzata: Locker room monitors and the proposal we had discussed at the District level which Wayzata instituted with their coaches handling that responsibility; Greg Gibson is retiring from 16 years as President of Wayzata Youth Hockey Registrar s Report: Final Rosters are available and all managers are required to print off a copy after 12/31 to ensure that all of the updated CEP information is reflecting on their roster. Redlined Coaches total: Armstrong/Cooper 7, DAYHA 1, Mound 2, Mpls 7, Orono 1, OMGHA 4. SLP 1, Wayzata 8; all registrars were sent this list Coach in Chief: Nothing to report Membership & Development Report: Early reports indicate efforts will likely lead to another year of growth and record breaking season at the 8 & Under level. Register ASAP for Try Hockey For Free Day on March 3rd: USA Hockey s annual late winter Try Hockey For Free Day is set for Saturday, March 3 rd, which is the first Saturday after the Olympics. NBC will be helping promote these events throughout the Olympics so this is a great opportunity to reach new families with the help of mass media! The deadline to register as a host site is Monday, January 8 th. Even though this deadline has passed, it may be possible to still register late. Please contact USA Hockey immediately. o Try Hockey Host Site Registration: o https://portal.usahockey.com/tool/tryhockey_signup SportsEngine Programs: One of the primary ways NBC will be promoting hockey during the Olympics is by driving people to SportsEngine.com. To ensure your association and its programs are at the top of the search results, we encourage you to review your association listing and add any programs (ex: Try Hockey For Free, Learn to Skate, etc.) that would be of interest to new families. Girls League Coordinator s Report: Introduction of Rob Roy; everything is going smoothly Grievance Committee Report: Two hearings were held. Scheduling Coordinator s Report: Mark sent an email to all reps about a company supporting Max Ice and Max Enterprise Mark is looking into pulling together all associations within the District to make the scheduling process smoother Max Galaxy is a product more conducive for ice arenas/park and rec dep ts District 3 Board of Directors Meeting 3 of 5
Tournament Coordinator s Report: February 1 st is the deadline for application for invitationals; this includes mite jamborees (which needs to go to NB first) District tournament update in New Business District President s Report: Administrative info as things slow down at the Exec Comm level we are looking at finding a new treasurer and handling the bookkeeping functions; the Exec Comm will come forward with some options at a future meeting Standings review there are several teams that have not yet had a victory; competition committee will review all standings data for team placement next year; Jill P Hopkins has five teams that have not yet had a victory and they are establishing a strategic planning committee to gather data and formulate a plan prior to comp comm Jim T it would help greatly if the larger associations would determine early on where their teams are being placed general discussion of things that impact team placement numbers, goal tenders District Director s Report: Mite Update all Jamborees need to be approved by Nicole; 5on5 has started and they need to let NB know; limited to six 5on5 games; anyone playing outside their association needs to receive approval/let her know. Winter Board Meeting MN Hockey January 26-28 anyone has any items please send them to NB; rules changes/clarifications need to be talked about at this meeting Squirt game count and controlled scrimmages Squirt/10U game count is 33 with 2 reserved for District Year End; only can play two tourney games in one day Directors Meeting in December redistricting year so anyone with thoughts/comments please send them to NB; Tim H will that allow the Mpls issues to be decided? Yes; changes would be discussed at the meeting in January and throughout; NB is not expecting any large changes; any changes would need to be voted on at the spring MN Hockey meeting Question about goalie substitution policy; we could do something within the district with our own policy Seedings for AA and girls the number of seeds we receive is based on the total number of seeds available and how many teams we have at that level; 12A and 12B two seeds; 15A two seeds; Bantam AA three seeds; PeeWee AA two seeds Old Business: Gentry Academy: top level team in your association is allowed/not required to have a controlled scrimmage (coaches on the ice, no officials, no scoreclock) with Gentry; NB should receive notification of these scrimmages New Business: District Tournaments brackets have been received back from most associations and will be posted as soon as possible; all reps are encouraged to attend the Tournament Meeting next month before the board meeting; notify tournament chairs of this meeting as well (TO DO) Region and State Tournament updates o Minneapolis - now on a weekly meeting basis; the only potential change will be moving the banquet from the Guthrie (due to cost and size issues) o St Louis Park ice is reserved and moving forward o Armstrong Cooper - Jim T are the brackets finalized; ice is reserved for the Regions District 3 Board of Directors Meeting 4 of 5
o Wayzata National High School; meeting regularly and planning is moving smoothly; High Performance Programs 2018 moving forward with the planning for 2018; waiting for approval of Deviation Plan from the 15 boys side; girls coaches being confirmed and the boys side will follow the Rules and Regs; discussion about the selection of coaches Mark motioned to adjourn the meeting, Dean seconded; motion passed.
