1 The Event The Parade Once again, downtown Tulsa becomes a place of wonder and magic with hundreds of dazzling lights and smiling faces at our one and only Tulsa Christmas Parade. You ll see families region-wide line the spectacular one-mile parade route in historic downtown Tulsa as they cheer the sights and sounds of the season. Boasting over 75 Christmas themed entries, including brightly decorated floats, giant balloons, marching bands, equestrian units, nonprofit groups, horse-drawn carriages and a cast of magical Christmas characters, Tulsa s favorite parade is an event you don t want to miss. Participation Fee: Non Profit: $200 if turned in by September 30, 2015; $300 if after that date For Profit: $800 if turned in by September 30, 2015; $1,000 if after that date Quick Details Time and Date 6:00 pm on Saturday, December 12, 2015 Theme An Old-Fashioned, Family Christmas Line-up Time: 4:00 pm additional details will be given closer to parade Line-up Location: 7th and Boston Parade Time: 6:00 p.m. Parade Route The rectangular parade route will begin at 7th Street and Boston Avenue, traveling north to 3rd Street, west to Boulder Avenue, south to 7th. Rules For the safety of parade on-lookers and participants, please respect the following parade rules and regulations: Any parade unit that performs exhibitions en-route must be a moving demonstration as not to cause gaps in the parade. Unsafe motorcycle demonstrations are not allowed and the motorcycles must maintain the pace of the parade. To increase the safety of the children watching the parade, no candy or other items may be thrown at spectators on the sidelines during the parade. You may walk alongside your parade unit and place candy or trinkets in the hands of the attendees. All float units are to be in their assigned space in the parade staging area no later than 4:00 pm. A copy of the rules, signed by the person in charge of the entry, must be in their possession at the time of inspection, and a copy is to be attached to the parade application. Tulsa Christmas Parade 2014 Features Well-advertised downtown event, nearly 100 parade entries, an estimated 50,000 plus spectators. And, of course, the one and only Santa Claus! Broadcast Full LIVE broadcast of the complete parade on our Media Partner at 6:00 pm on December 12! Attendance Estimated 50,000 Presented by American Waste Control, the largest waste collection, recycling and waste-to-energy company in Oklahoma. 3 Decoration All entries should decorate units with our Old Fashioned, Family Christmas theme or decorations. Your entry will not be allowed in the parade if it is not decorated. Be creative and use your imagination! Let the spirit of the Christmas season guide your decorations! Tulsa Christmas Parade will provide the official Santa Claus for the parade. Please do not include Santa or Mrs. Claus in your parade unit. You will not be allowed to participate in the event if someone in your party is dressed as Santa or Mrs. Claus. Everyone in your group whether on the float, walking or riding must wear Christmas décor. For example dressed as elves, or wearing Santa hat, Rudolph nose, Christmas Sweater, etc Judging All float units are to follow the instructions given by the Parade Marshall. Award winners will be announced during the parade. Categories include Best Commercial Entry, Best Non-Commercial Entry, Best Religious Entry, Best Marching Unit and the Judges Choice Award. You will be contacted prior to December 7th to inform you of your position in the parade line-up organized by the parade committee. If for some reason you do not receive a phone call, there are people designated at the event to make sure you get to your position in the line-up on the day of the parade.
