Safegate Group 1. INTRODUCTION Obstruction lighting is intended to reduce the hazards to aircraft by indicating the presence of obstructions. Fixed or mobile objects on super structures should be marked when they are in certain positions which might cause a collision risk near airports or heliports that can be used at night. Apart from the areas around an airport, it may be necessary to mark very high obstacles protruding into aircraft or helicopter traffic zones, such as radio antenna, chimney stacks or high voltage lines. Instructions concerning these requirements can be obtained from local airport authorities or navigation departments. The minimum requirements for obstruction lighting are specified by ICAO in Annex 14 Volume I Paragraph 6.3. According to these requirements, the protruding object must be marked using Low Intensity Obstruction Red Lights. F2.1 and F22 are omnidirectional elevated light. Utilisation Obstruction light Compliance ICAO: Annex 14 Volume I Paragraph 6.3 French STNA 2. MAIN ADVANTAGES Low cost. Low power consumption: Only 55 Watts. Power Supply: 230 Vac 50 / 60 Hz Lamp life greater than 8,000 hours (16,000 for the two lamps/f22). High speed lamp replacement by unscrewing the glass dome. Simple but sturdy design. Easy Installation and Maintenance. For F22: - Power Supply: A version of the F22 for supply in + 48 Vdc is available. - Security of the obstruction due to the 2nd safety lamp (automatic switching). - Main Lamp out back indication is possible, feed back of the voltage (230 Vac) present on the Safety Lamp. Safegate Group Check in to the future How many aircraft can your airport handle today? Can this number be increased without adverse effects on the airport s safety level? It is a known fact that traffic volume will rise in the foreseeable future. More movements will demand monitoring of the entire airport. Requirements will be sharpened and the development of an integrated system controlling not only ground movements but also air traffic close to the airport is of the highest interest. The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) already describes A-SMGCS, Advanced Surface Movement Guidance and Control System, as the answer to the future modern airport need to control the entire airport space in one superior system. To a larger extent than today s systems, A-SMGCS will rely on automated processes to give both pilots and traffic controllers exact information about positions and directions. Safegate Group delivers complete A-SMGCS solutions already, as well as all vital parts relating to it. Safegate Group can check your airport into the future today!
