GENERAL RULES Participants must be students currently enrolled in their respective university. Teams and Individuals will be disqualified from the event if any misconduct is found. All participants must carry a valid Student Identification Card in order to participate. Kindly obey the on-campus rules and maintain decorum. Report to the organizer at the venue at least 20 minutes prior to the start time of the event you are participating in. Overall trophy would be awarded to the university with the highest number of points at the end of Jashn. The distribution of points would be as follows: FIRST POSITION- 5 POINTS SECOND POSITION- 3 POINTS THIRD POSITION- 1 POINT If more than one team from a university secures positions, the university will only get points for the highest position secured. 2

Event Description JASHN FASHION SHOW This is an event where each team gets to showcase their designs and ideas which should be based on a theme of their choice. Participants Time Limit Theme Judging Criteria Maximum 20 models 15 minutes Open Theme, Costume, Walk, Attitude, Props, Stage Presence RULES Use of water, fire, pets, animal skin or any hazardous materials are not allowed. Vulgarity of any kind would lead to disqualification of the team from the event. The decision of the judges and organizing committee will be final. Green room will be provided per team. No props and costumes will be provided by us. Teams have to bring their own. The music or track for the show should be provided to the well in advance by the team heads. Event Description DRAPE This will be an inter-college event where individual designers get to showcase their designs which will be based on a theme of their choice. It is a competition for all the budding fashion designers out there. Time Limit Judging Criteria 10 minutes per contestant Theme, Costume, Creativity (Materials Used), Design. (Note: Walk of the models will not be judged) RULES There can be any number of participants from each college. The designers can either wear their own design and walk or they can have another model wearing their design. There will be two rounds; first round will only have the models walking to show the designers work and the second round will have the designer walking with her/his model. RULES All participants must assemble 20 minutes before the respective event and inform a council member of the music club (under-signed) about their presence. Each participant must not exceed time limit. Failure to adhere to this will result in a penalty which will affect the final score. Use of inappropriate language will lead to an immediate disqualification. Use of instruments or a background track (without backing vocals in the track) to support your performance is permitted (only for singing - solo & duet) The decision taken by judges will be final and will not be changed under any circumstances. QUIZZING 11

MARVEL v/s DC Event Description An event for all those superhero fans out there. Come put your knowledge to test in an intensive 2 hour quizzing event. Number of Participants Time Limit 2 per team Preliminary Round: 60 minutes Final Round: 60 minutes RULES Preliminary Round: A Written Round that will test the contestants on their knowledge of technical facts, figures and trivial information. Final Round: A stage finale with the Top-6 teams in the Written Round qualifying to compete against each other for the top spot split up into 3 to 4 sections. Participants arriving later than the allotted time will not be allowed to participate. If a Team fails to turn up for Final Round of the Quiz, the next Team with the highest score in the Preliminary Round shall proceed to the Final Round. In the case of a tie in the Preliminary Round, whoever makes the first mistake in the Preliminary Round shall be eliminated. All correct answers in Round 1 shall give the team a +1. No negatives. PROSCENIUM Event Description This will be an inter-college event where teams get to showcase their talent through acting which will be based on a play of their choice. It is a competition for all the budding actors out there. Time Limit Participants Judging Criteria 15-20 minutes Maximum 10 members excluding the director and writer Story, Props, Costumes, Creativity, Coordination, Overall Performance RULES Failure to abide by the following rules will result in disqualification: Multiple Teams from each college are allowed. However only one play is allowed per team. No foul language or gestures allowed. The play can be an adaptation of an already existing play or an original play. The play should be in English. A tech script should be provided to the organizers beforehand with the light, audio and prop details clearly mentioned. 14

STREET PLAY ( NUKKAD NATAK ) Event Description Street play is an outdoor performance to spread awareness to the public. Time Limit Participants Judging Criteria 10-15 minutes Minimum 6, Maximum 10 members excluding the director and writer Story, Props, Costumes, Creativity, Coordination, Overall Performance RULES Every team can have 6-10 members excluding the director and the writer. No mics shall be provided/ No pre-recorded audios are allowed. Musical instruments are allowed in the play. The play must cover a social message. Teams should minimize the use of props. ONE MAN SHOW Event Description One man show is a two round competition having Stand Up Comedy as the first round and Improv as the second round. Time Limit Participants Judging Criteria 5-10 minutes each 1 member only Content, Comic Timing, Fluency, Stage Presence, Spontaneity, Overall Performance RULES It is an individual competition. The duration of Stand Up Comedy is 5-10 minutes. Each participant shall be given a topic for Improv for which they will have to come up with one liners on the spot. No vulgar content is allowed. RULES Mixtapes and mash-ups strictly not permitted. Remixes are permitted, can be official remixes as well as bootlegs. SD Cards, USBs or CDs containing required tracks need to be brought by the participants themselves. Participants are not allowed to bring their own equipment except their respective headphones. Any DJ software such as Traktor, Virtual DJ, Serato Live etc. is strictly not permitted along with the use of laptops/tablets for live mixing. Tracks with explicit lyrics should be cancelled/filtered out while live mixing. Participants should refrain from using obscene/explicit words to incite the crowd while performing on stage. The order of DJing in the event will be done by randomized paper chit system in front of the judges and organizers to maintain fair play to all participants. A member of the organizing team will always be present on stage with the DJ performing to ensure no mashups / pre-recorded track list are played. Participants may repeat tracks at their own will but this will lead to deduction of marks in the appropriate criteria. PIXELS Event Description Pixels is the annual inter college competition for photography. The three categories are: Street Life Portraits Mobile Photography Category Street Life Portraits Mobile Photography Technical proficiency, Composition, Look and feel of the image, Creativity Judging Criteria of the shot Marks Judges 80% Judges 50% Judges 100% Distribution Social Media Likes 20% Social Media Likes 50% Send in your pictures to reflexions@dubai.bits-pilani.ac.in with the subject of your email being Pixels 18 along with the following details: Name, University, Age, Mobile Number The deadline for submission is 12 th, April 2018. RULES Contestants can submit at most 2 images in each category. All photos should have EXIF (Metadata) embedded in them. Photos should not contain any watermarks. All photos should be in JPEG format, and at least 2MB in size (Exclusion: Mobile Photography) Please name the file in the following format: ParticipantName_Category_IMGX.JPG IMGX is the submission number. For 2 images in the same category, IMG1 & IMG2. Decision of the judges will be final and binding. No appeal for reconsideration will be acknowledged. POETRY SLAM Event Description People will be asked to submit written poetry pieces without any restrictions. The ones selected will be performed on stage. The second round will involve an impromptu poetry show down. Number of Participants Time Limit 1-3 per team 1.5 Hours RULES: 1. Round 1- Each team will first present their original pieces. 2. GAME ON: ARENA Tournaments across multiple games Game Number of Participants Estimated time per match DOTA 2 5 per team 1.5 hour Counter-Strike: Global Offensive 5 per team 1.5 hours FIFA 18 (1v1 & 2v2) 1 person; 2 per team 15 minutes (usually 12) Rocket League 3 per team 20 minutes Mortal Kombat X 1 person 20 minutes RULES: Players must provide a list of all members along with their contact details. Participants are responsible for their timings during that are assigned to them ahead of time. Teams that are unable to make it for their allotted matches will have their match marked as a loss, awarding their opponent the win. All equipment (System, monitors, headphones, mice & keyboards) will be provided for the participants. If the participant insists on using their personal equipment, the administrator at the scene will arrange for the switch Peripheral equipment (Headphones, mice & keyboards) are available at the peripherals desk are given to participants in exchange for a piece of identity (Student ID card, Driver s License etc) Any participants found using external methods, modifying game files or using programs that access game data will be deemed as Unfair methods and the team in question will be immediately disqualified. No registrations fees will be refunded. The admin s word on any and all matter are final. Individuals who have not registered before the registration deadline will not be permitted to participate in the tournament. 24

THE LOUNGE Casual, walk-in gaming area Number of Participants Based on availability of seats/systems Customers can purchase tokens that allow them to avail a system for one match (of any game) 1 token for 3 AED 2 tokens for 5 AED 5 tokens for 10 AED RULES Customers can purchase tokens from the stall in the area and avail those tokens at the systems for playing one match. All individuals do not need to avail a token to play a match, just one token is needed to access the system. Respect your surroundings and the people around you. Customers who are affecting the general atmosphere of the area will be asked to be more considerate their surroundings. Repeat offenders will be forced to leave. If a customer wishes to adjust the system, it s hardware or even switch disks, please contact the volunteers in-charge of the area and they will handle it. CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION Event Description This event caters to the most inquisitive minds and the detectives within each one of us. If you ve ever wanted to be a part of an investigation this is your chance. Solve 3 mysteries by inspecting the crime scenes, finding evidence and clues and narrowing down the suspect list to find the criminal master mind.
