Thursday, April 11 th 6:00 p.m. Running Events Finals Track and Runways: The track is an eight lane 400 meter all weather surface, as are the runways and jump areas. No tape may be used on the track. No spikes longer than 1/4 inch will be permitted. Shot and Discus: Concrete surfaces. Every attempt will be measured for varsity divisions. We will decide on the JV division at the scratch meeting. No shots or discs on the game field please. Shots and discs will be pooled. Starting Blocks: Will be furnished. Dressing Facilities: There are no dressing facilities available. Please come dressed. Restrooms will be open. Bus Parking: All buses need to be parked across from the tennis courts. Entrance to Track: Fans and athletes can enter the track on the north side of the stadium. Admission: Admission will be charged. Adults - $3.00 Students - $2.00 General Information: Contestants can warm-up on the infield of the game field. Please keep all shot puts and discs off of the game field. All coaches and contestants are asked to stay away from the finish line and to stay behind the fenced area. Contestants who are not competing or warming up will need to be seated in the east bleachers (visitors side). We will reserve the west bleachers for spectators only (home side). No camps on the infield. Please have your athletes pick up after themselves. Trash cans will be placed throughout the stadium.
Rules and Policies: UIL rules apply as found in the current UIL track and field manual and the National Federation Rule Book, Case Book, and Officials Manual. Entries: Official entry forms are required with a list of eligible participants (5) five days before the contest. Deadline for entries is April 5rd, 2013. (no exceptions allowed) Note: 1. A list of eligible athletes should be postmarked or faxed to Canyon Lake by April 5th, 2012. At the organizational meeting, you may enter any eligible student whose name was listed on the eligibility list. Heating and lane assignments will take place at this time. No other students can be added at this meeting. 3. At the coaches meeting on the day of the meet, you may scratch any participant entered, but you may not substitute. All entries on the day of competition must be eligible under UIL/TEA guidelines. Entries: Entries will be handled by Seth Brower at Track4life. These entries need to be entered into Athletic.net by April 3 th at 12:00pm so he can have the meet seeding for our meeting on April 5 th. More information will be coming from Seth Brower. 4. We will enter all divisions through Hy-Teks Team Manager or Team Manager Lite. This allows us to put the kids into the desired races ahead of the heat and lane meeting. Only scratches will be allowed after the meeting for Varsity. Junior Varsity you will be able to scratch and add just like an invitational on Tuesday morning. After Tuesday morning it will be scratch only. The Varsity and Junior Varsity Divisions will be seeded by times, and the field event order will be rotated. JV as in the past we will allow up to 6 competitors in an event, however we will only take a maximum of 3 from any one school to the finals. 5. Names: Use full names for entries just as you have them listed on the eligibility form. GAMES COMMITTEE: The athletic director of each school will serve on the games committee. Any school involved in a controversy that requires a decision will not be allowed to participate in making that decision. If there is a dispute, the dispute needs to be put in writing and given to the meet referee. The meet referee will then call the games committee if
necessary. Dispute slips will be made available to all head coaches at the morning meeting. TIMING Track4life will be handling the Finish Lynx timing system. Please remember that all field event personnel, timers, pickers, and curve judges need to be coaches from the school, not parents or friends of the program. Bandera Curve judges- Remember that the white line is the inside of the track, not the curb. Also be aware of hurdlers hooking their leg around a hurdle rather than going over the hurdle. We will abide by the UIL rules and the National Federation Rule Book on this matter. It will be the backup starter and the finish clerk s job to monitor the 1600 relay exchanges and the finish line area. It is vital that the curve judges are in place for all curved races, not just relays. Workers need to furnish their own stopwatches, tape measures, etc. Rakes, clipboards and exchange zone flags will be provided.
