A. INFORMATION FOR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICANTS... The PGA of Canada will offer academic scholarships and other awards, which will assist students with the cost of tuition, room/board and/or books. The PGA of Canada Foundation Scholarship Committee invites applications from Canadian women and men who have demonstrated scholastic ability, enthusiasm and need and have made contributions to their community and/or to the Association. B. SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA... The PGA of Canada Foundation Scholarship will grant scholarships and awards for post-secondary study to assist with costs. Who is Eligible To Apply? 1. PGA of Canada Members, Candidates for Membership, Sons/Daughters or Grandchildren of PGA of Canada Members (alive or deceased) currently enrolled full time in a University or College Program or in the final year of High School and will attend full time University or College studies within six months. Applicants to demonstrate a high level of academic standing and participation in extracurricular or community activities. 2. PGA of Canada Members, Candidates for Membership who is engaged or will be engaged in a full time formal education program that will advance the applicants standing within the profession and able to demonstrated a high degree of enthusiasm and professionalism within the golf community and has or can provide concise documentation including references and recommendations of his/her abilities as a leader or prospect of being a leader in promoting the game within their community C. SCHOLARSHIP POLICIES... 1. The PGA of Canada Foundation Scholarship is granted for one year of college level, undergraduate or graduate study. 2. A scholarship award is contingent upon an applicant being enrolled or accepted and registered at a university, college or other approved educational facility. Applicants not yet enrolled, accepted or registered may make application for consideration, but no award will be paid until registration is confirmed. 3. Applicants will be judged on the basis of substantiated information contained in their applications and support material. Applicants may be interviewed by the Scholarship Committee. 4. Effective January 1 st, 2012 a maximum number of 2 scholarships may be awarded to any individual applying throughout the course of their studies. Please note: Scholarships that were granted prior to 2012 will not count towards this maximum. D. REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION... (To be received with Application form unless otherwise specified) HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS 1. Applicant must submit an official transcript of their high school grades for their last two (2) years. 2. The Principal's Evaluation Report must be completed by the high school principal and returned by him/her to PGA of Canada Foundation Scholarship Committee (to be received by June 8 th, 2018). Page 2

3. Three letters of recommendations (not related to the applicant) including: a) A PGA of Canada Head Professional at large. b) A member of the community identifying the applicant s extracurricular, and/or community involvement. c) A high school teacher. COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY STUDENTS 1. Applicant must submit an official transcript of university or college grades for the recent year completed. If currently enrolled in first year studies, applicant to submit an official transcript for their last two years of high school. 2. The Evaluation Report must be completed by the Dean or a Senior Program Professor or Coordinator and returned by him/her to PGA of Canada Foundation Scholarship Committee (to be received by June 8 th, 2018). 3. Three letters of recommendations (not related to the applicant) including: a) A PGA of Canada Head Professional at large. b) A member of the community identifying the applicant s extracurricular, and/or community involvement. c) A college instructor or university professor different than that completing the evaluation report. PGA OF CANADA MEMBERS OR CANDIDATES FOR MEMBERSHIP In an effort to promote and foster on going education for PGA of Canada Members and Candidates for membership, the PGA of Canada Foundation Scholarship Committee will offer Scholarship Funding of varying amounts to qualified and selected applicants who are engaged in continuing their education through full time studies at either the University, Community College or other approved Educational Facility level. To qualify for these awards, applicants must: 1. Applicant must submit an official transcript of university or college grades for the recent year completed. If currently enrolled in first year studies, applicant to submit an official transcript for their last two years of high school. 2. The Evaluation Report must be completed by the Dean or a Senior Program Professor or Coordinator and returned by him/her to PGA of Canada Foundation Scholarship Committee (to be received by June 8 th, 2018). 3. Three letters of recommendations (not related to the applicant) including: a) The applicant s employer (can be, but not restricted to being a PGA of Canada Member). b) A PGA of Canada Head Professional at large who is neither related to the applicant nor an employer. c) A member of the community identifying the applicant s extracurricular, community involvement, or golf leadership role. E. DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS... Deadline for application is June 1 st, 2018. The Application Form and supporting documentation and letters of reference as required must reach the PGA of Canada by this date. The Confidential Evaluation completed and submitted by your Principal/Dean/Senior Professor or Instructor must be received no later than June 8 th, 2018. Announcements of the Scholarship recipient(s) will be made approximately one month after the deadline. Page 3

F. LETTER OF INTRODUCTION FROM APPLICANT... Each application must be accompanied by a letter of introduction from the applicant. The PGA of Canada Scholarship Foundation is interested in the applicant's background and objectives, achievements and aspirations. The letter may be as detailed or as brief as he/she wishes. This letter should include reasons for obtaining a post-secondary education; goals; and how this scholarship will be of assistance. This letter must be submitted with the application. G. AWARDS... The PGA of Canada Scholarship Foundation reserves the right to make awards of varying dollar value based on the applicant s academic achievement, level and difficulty of study, extracurricular or community involvement.
