Program & Fees Fees Competition with Estimated Additional Costs (NOT included in registration fees) Optional Tournaments / Travel 19U Boys USA Tournaments Birth Years: 2000-2002 Coach: Gyula Toth Athletes require strong swimming and water polo skills and must have a high level of commitment. Athletes will participate in tournaments throughout northern California in support of the high performance Long Term Athlete Development Program. Age bracket for USA tournament participation in 19U category is 2000-2003. LTAD Alignment Train to Compete $1400 Additional Cost $3000-$4500 Travel to 4 US tournaments, providing Exposure to USA college s coaches (better option for NCAA sport scholarships), playing outdoors, as well as better quality and development of water polo skills (more variety of teams and better quality, change of the experience). Providing the club the liberty to choose dates and tournaments (to best adapt to school off days). Costs may be reduced as parents have the flexibility to purchase airline tickets on points. As well, the club could potentially rent a house vs using hotels. Alberta Water Polo Association (AWPA) Youth League for athletes (born in 2004-2001) who are interested in recreational game competition. Estimated $300/team divided amongst interested athletes. 16U Boys National Championship League (NCL) Birth Years: 2003-2004 Coach: Gyula Toth Athletes require strong swimming and water polo skills and must have a high level of commitment. Athletes will participate in the National Championship League that is run by Water Polo Canada in support of the high performance Long Term Athlete Development Program. Age bracket for NCL participation in 16U category is 2003-2005. LTAD Alignment Competitive Foundations & Train to Compete $1400 Additional Cost $2500-$4000 NCL involves travel within Western Canada Oct- May for weekend competitions (Thurs-Sun) against other Western teams and National Finals. Schedule TBD mid-october. Based on 2017-2018 season, there will be trips to Regina, Surrey, and Edmonton with Western Finals in May 2019. Top two teams from that tournament go to National Finals (location TBD). NCL costs will be estimated when the schedule is finalized and paid in 3 installments prior to travel. Final adjustments will be based on actual costs. Volunteer & Fundraising Commitments All fundraising dollars are included in the club s overall budget and are not used to subsidize any one age group. Tournament fees and travel costs are shared and paid for by the participants in those age categories. Volunteer Mandatory Participation as a Volunteer at League (City or Provincial) and/or NCL Games. This can be as a minor official, gate monitor, videographer, or hospitality room supervisor. Hospitality Room donations may also be needed. Bingo Shifts per Family AND.. Casino Shifts per Family Date:TBD AND.. Other Fundraising Additional Volunteer Assistance as requested: Trip Chaperone, Board Positions, Managers, web master, etc. (see Handbook) THANK YOU! 19U Events hosted by the club may require your assistance, as well as helping out the younger teams is always appreciated. Chaperoning trips will be required for this team. 3-4 Bingo Shifts PER FAMILY Assignments will be made based on membership numbers in September. 16U 14U NCL Games: minimum 3 shifts per game team plays (approx. 6-8 shifts per weekend). The club does help provide a list of individuals willing to work, however choosing to pay those workers is the decision of the member, not the club. 1-2 Casino Shift PER FAMILY every 18 months Participate in 1-2 Fundraising activities per year to raise a minimum of $150/year via 60/40, Wine or other raffles, Grocery card fundraising, etc. 12U/10U City or Community Games: minimum 2 shifts per assigned day that Wild is considered the host team. Minor officiating only Provincial Games: minimum 2 shifts per game team plays (approx. 6-8 shifts per weekend). Same positions as NCL but no videographer City or Community Games: minimum 2 shifts per assigned day that Wild is considered the host team.
