THE BURGH: The Dodgers continue their seven-game road trip (3-1) tonight with the second of four games against the Pirates at PNC Park following last night s 6-5 win in 12 innings. The team will return to Los Angeles Friday for a brief three-game homestand against the Brewers over the weekend. The Dodgers have already clinched the season series over the Pirates by winning all four matchups between the clubs this year, but have gone just 9-15 (.375) against Pittsburgh since 2014. From 2001-13, Los Angeles posted a National League-best 67-26 (.720) record against the Pirates. STATS DON T LIE: The Dodgers, who are a season-high tying 53 games over.500, own the best record in baseball with an 88-35 mark (.715), 12.5 games better than the Astros, and also hold the best record in the NL through 123 games since the 1944 Cardinals (91-32,.739). Los Angeles holds a franchise-record high 20.5-game firstplace lead.
