2015 Gymnastics For All SMC AGM Reports Team Gym Co-Ordinator I have been enjoying my role as Team Gym Co-ordinator and I would like to thank Natalie, Ben and all the GfA committee for their hard work and constant support. We have held many Team Gym Coach/Judge workshops over the past 2 years. This year many were held in conjunction with LaunchPad Zoom Workshops at various locations. 4 Competitions were held this year 14 th August GNSW Team Gym Invitational SGAC 15 Teams 6 th September Engadine Gymnastics Team Gym Invitational Engadine 8 Teams 4 th October GNSW Country Championships incorporating Team Gym ORANGE 31 st October GNSW Team Gym State Championships SGAC 29 Teams from 12 clubs 247 competitors. As the numbers indicate, these events were very well patronized. Some of our events ran very smoothly, whilst others had hiccups and glitches. They challenged our ability to both think outside the square and maintain our composure in difficult circumstances. They provided some great learning opportunities and valuable lessons towards the goal to make every Team Gym experience a positive one. The appearance of KIP at Team Gym Country Championships and her/his interaction with the gymnasts was highlight this year. Thanks KIP!!!!!!!!!!!! We welcome Lightening Ridge Gym Club into the Team Gym family, competing in Team Gym for the first time this year. I am grateful to have been part of the Committee as we head towards the nationalization of the program next year. Education in the Team Gym Program (coaching and judging) is and will continue to be a high priority both in New South Wales and Interstate as more clubs join the Team Gym Family I delivered a coaches / judges workshop in Adelaide in October and hope to continue to spread the love of Team Gym in 2016. Kindergym Co-ordinator report 3 KG courses were offered this year, at Gosford, & Cessnock, Sutherland all very successful and adding about another 30 new Kindergym accredited coaches to our discipline. Kinderfest was cancelled for 2015. Preparations were underway for Kinderfest and we did have a great response from clubs and coaches who expressed their interest in setting up a station to the theme When I Grow Up, however due to the lack of children who were booked in to attend the event, it was decided we would have to cancel Kinderfest for this year. I think the location and time of the year both had a big impact on this event especially for country clubs whose parents would not travel the distance for 45mins. We had reduced the cost of entry & I do know that although this was appreciated, we still could not come up with the numbers. I would like to thank all the coaches who did commit to Kinderfest and perhaps we can reassess the future of Kinderfest at a later date. A new Kindergym Facebook Page has been started and is proving very successful. It would be appreciated if all the Kindergym coaches out there in the community added something of interest to keep this page prominent in the Kindergym world. The Cookbook of ideas was held again this year with lots of interesting items being offered for the book. Unfortunately, there were not as many Kindergym coaches in attendance as expected due to Kinderfest being cancelled. Lesley Gilbey GFA SMC Kindergym Co-ordinator 5
