R Bomb Threat 1. If you see a suspicious object or potetial bomb o campus, DO NOT TOUCH THE OBJECT. Clear the area ad immediately call 911. 2. The reasos for this could be fire alarms, bomb threats, atural gas leaks, etc. Whe you are otified to evacuate, follow these procedures: 1. Aytime a evacuatio order is issued, either by alarm or verbally, evacuate immediately. 2. If possible, close all widows ad doors ad walk to the earest exit (see posted evacuatio maps). If the alarm stops soudig, cotiue evacuatio ad war others who may attempt to eter the buildig. 3. Assist disabled persos or visitors to leave the buildig. 4. Do ot use elevators. 5. GENERAL PROCEDURES Fire Activate the alarm by pullig the fire alarm ad/or call 911. Oly properly traied employees should attempt to extiguish a fire. Walk quickly i a orderly fashio to the earest buildig exit ad promptly vacate the facility. DO NOT USE ELEVATORS. USE THE STAIRS. Try to assist ayoe who is disabled or ijured to evacuate. To reduce fire or smoke damage, close all doors ad widows whe leavig the room ad the hallways if you have time. Report ay hazardous coditios to the Reo Fire Departmet or call 911 dispatcher. Do ot re-eter the buildig util istructed to do so by emergecy respoders. IF YOU ARE TRAPPED IN A BUILDING DURING A FIRE: Stay close to the floor where the air is less toxic. Shout at regular itervals to alert emergecy crews of your locatio. If smoke is eterig the room through cracks i the door, stuff wet clothig i the cracks to slow the flow. Call Facilities Services: (775) 784-8020. Advise the dispatcher of exact locatio ad severity of the leak. Notify your supervisor of the extet ad locatio of the leak. If there are electrical appliaces or electrical outlets ear the leak, use extreme cautio. If there is ay possible dager, evacuate the area. (See buildig evacuatio page 7) If you kow the source of the water ad are cofidet of your ability to stop it (i.e. uclog the drai, tur off water, etc.) do so cautiously. Be empathetic ad show your cocer. Try to sit dow with the perso, as sittig is a less aggressive posture tha stadig or movig aroud. Be helpful. Schedule a appoitmet for a later time, take otes. Provide positive feedback such as, We ca get this straighteed out, or I m glad you re tellig me how you feel about this. Keep a safe distace stay out of arm s reach. Miimize eye cotact.
