ARTICLES OF ASSOCIATION, BY-LAWS AND REGULATIONS: (a) The organisation of the Festival of Hunting is under the control of a Council, which consists of representatives of the participating Agricultural Societies. (b) The Show is held under the Articles of Association, By-laws and Regulations of the East of England Agricultural Society, which accordingly bind all exhibitors, members of the participating Agricultural Societies and all others attending the Show. (c) COMPLIANCE WITH GOVERNMENT AND LOCAL AUTHORITY REGULATIONS AND ALL CODES OF PRACTICE: All Shows, Exhibitions and Events organised by the Society on the Showground or elsewhere are subject to any relevant Orders issued by Government Departments and Local Authorities, and all Codes of Practice with which all exhibitors and other attending such Shows, Exhibitions or Events must comply. (d) Exhibitor s attention is also drawn to the breed regulations and competition conditions printed in this Prize List. (e) Copies of the Articles of Associations, By-laws and Regulations can be obtained on request to the Secretary of the Society. 2) PRIZE MONEY will be awarded depending on the number of CATALOGUED entries received: 1-3 catalogued entries: 1 st prize money only will be awarded 4-6 catalogued entries: 1 st and 2 nd prize money will be awarded 7-8 catalogued entries: 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd prize money will be awarded 3) SOCIETY S TROPHIES: Exhibitors are reminded that without exception the Society s Trophies are for Perpetual Competition. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to return all trophies to the showground at least 30 days prior to the date of the Show. 4) OBJECTIONS. Any exhibitor at the Show feeling himself aggrieved must make his protest in writing within one hour of the completion of the judging of the class and pay a deposit to the Secretary of 50.00 (or other higher sum as determined by any organisation to which this Society is affiliated or acts under the rule of). Objections will not be entertained from any person or organisation not exhibiting in the same class as the animal to which the objection is raised. An Appeals Tribunal will consider objections, (excepting those handled by other appropriate organisations) at a time and place to be fixed by them and the person making the objection must be available to attend or, be presented by his authorised agent at the appointed time and place. The decision of the Appeals Tribunal shall be final, and if the protest be not substantiated the deposit may be forfeited. The animal to which the objection is raised must remain on the showground until permission to leave has been obtained from the Secretary in writing. The Society reserves to itself the right to refer an objection to any authority or organisation to adjudicate, wholly or in part, in respect of an objection, on behalf of a Society. 5) INSURANCE (a) It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to insure all property and livestock on the Showground or elsewhere which is his own, or for which he is responsible. (b) The Society requires exhibitors to effect Employers Liability insurance where this is required by statute. (c) The Society also requires to exhibitors effect Public Liability and Products Liability insurance with a minimum indemnity of 1,000,000 to protect their liability. 2

EXTRACT FROM EAST OF ENGLAND BY-LAWS REGULATIONS SPECIFIC TO EQUINE EVENTS 1. All Classes are open unless otherwise stated. Entries are made at the fees stated in the Schedule. All stock exhibited for prizes shall be bona fide in the legal ownership of the exhibitor at the time of entry and the Event or for such a period as shall be set out in the Schedule under the conditions of the particular class concerned. 2. The Judge s decision is final. 3. Horses must have proper halters when on the Showground. 4. Animals sent for exhibition may at any time on the instructions of the Judges, Stewards or other Officials of the Society be inspected by the Vet. The Vet may order the removal from the Showground of any animal which, in their opinion, is affected by any disease likely to prove harmful to other animals or is in any way unfit for exhibition. The Vet shall hand a certificate recording their findings to the person in charge of any rejected animal. 5. It is strongly recommended that all horses, other than foals, receive a full course of Equine Influenza Vaccination as recommended by the British Equine Association within the 12 months prior to exhibition at an Event. Passports must accompany animals to the Event. The vaccination of foals is left to the discretion of the owner and his Vet. 6. The age of horses to be calculated from 1st January in the year of their birth. 7. Brood Mares must have their own foals at foot. 8. Concealing exhibits during Events: during the time an Event is open to the public no sheeting or other material may be affixed to any part of the livestock accommodation in such a way that any animal is concealed from public view. 9. HARD HATS. It is a regulation of the East of England Agricultural Showground that all riders (including Ride Judges) wear correctly fitting protective headgear which complies with the latest British Standard with a CE Mark at all times whilst mounted. The Company and Organiser accept no responsibility for any injury arising from a failure to comply with this regulation. 10. All Entrants are asked to be aware of animals on the Showground and ensure that all exhibits are fit and well. If any Entrant has reason to believe that an animal is unfit he should report this to the Equine Office. 11. Cancellation and / or alteration to classes: The Council reserves the right to cancel, divide or amalgamate or otherwise change any class or to limit entries in any class or section from the entrant. The Chairman and Vice Chairman of Council and Senior Steward or the appropriate section are given executive powers 12.!!! ENTRIES & VEHICLE PASSES PLEASE READ!!! Entries received by the close of entries will be acknowledged and numbers / vehicle passes and competitor information will be sent out. ENTRIES MADE AT THE SHOW ALL HORSE BOXES / TRAILERS ARRIVING AT THE EQUINE GATE WITHOUT A VALID VEHICLE PASS WILL BE CHARGED A 10 FEE. THIS WILL BE FULLY REFUNDABLE PROVIDING ENTRIES ARE MADE AT THE SHOW SECRETARY S OFFICE. All cars and passengers arriving at any gate will have to pay a non-refundable admittance charge unless they are clearly displaying a car pass issued by the Equine Office. Cars will only be allowed in to the equine areas if they have a valid vehicle pass for this gate. Producers who require a car pass for their owners must apply for a pass in advance from the Show Office. 3

Any horse that qualifies for Horse of the Year Show, in a Ridden Hunter class (not including Working Hunter classes) will not be eligible to compete in Novice classes from 1 st January the following year but horses that qualified for Horse Of The Year Show as a 4 year old are exempt. 2 NOVICE MWT / HWT HUNTER, mare or gelding, four years old and over, calculated to carry over 13 stone (82.6 kgs). A Novice Hunter must not have won a first prize of 60 or a total of 200 (or equivalent values) in any affiliated Ridden Hunter Classes at home or abroad, before 1 st January in the current year, excepting all prize money won as a four year old. Any horse that qualifies for Horse of the Year Show, in a Ridden Hunter class (not including Working Hunter classes) will not be eligible to compete in Novice classes from 1 st January the following year but horses that qualified for Horse Of The Year Show as a 4 year old are exempt. 1 st and 2 nd prize winners from classes 1 & 2 to compete for the Championship. 3 AMATEUR LWT / SMALL HUNTER mare or gelding, four years old or over, capable of carrying 79.5kgs (12 stone 7lbs) and under. 4 AMATEUR MWT / HWT HUNTER mare or gelding, four years old or over, capable of carrying over 79.5kgs (12 stone 7lbs). 1 st and 2 nd prize winners from classes 3 & 4 to compete for the Championship. SHOW HUNTER OF THE YEAR CLASSES: 5, 6, 7: PRE- ENTRY FEES: 45.00 ON THE DAY: 55.00 PRIZES: 1st: 55 2nd: 50 3rd: 45 THIS INCLUDES A 12.00 CONTRIBUTION FOR HORSE OF THE YEAR SHOW, NEC, BIRMINGHAM, 3 rd - 7 th OCTOBER 2018 This class will be divided into three sections as follows: Section A Section B Section C Lightweight hunter, capable of carrying up to 12 stone 7lbs. Middleweight hunter, capable of carrying from 12 stone 7lbs to 14 stone. Heavyweight hunter, capable of carrying more than 14 stone. Competitors must enter their horses in the appropriate sections, but section A will be judged first, and the judges shall have the power to transfer exhibits to section B or C if they deem it necessary. This class is a qualifying class for Horse of the Year Show, NEC, Birmingham, 3rd - 7th October 2018. Qualification will not pass below 3rd place. Qualification will be verified by the Horse of the Year Show office. These classes will be run in accordance with the general rules as set out in the Horse of the Year Show rulebook, a copy of which can be downloaded from www.hoys.co.uk. To take part in this class, horses must NOT have won an open class (inc SEIB/HOYS, BSHA, SHB(GB) RoR Tattersalls Show Series Qualifier, TARRA Ridden, RoR AMATEUR Ridden Show Series Qualifier or any other open class except RoR TBA Challenge Show Series classes. AMATEUR WORKING HUNTER A person is an Amateur for the purpose of classes if he/she does not, during the current or previous season: a) Engage in breeding, livery, buying, selling, dealing or hiring horses in a commercial capacity. b) Receive remuneration for employment in the connection with horses in racing, showing, livery stable or riding school (instruction at Pony Club and Riding Club excepted). This does not include the suppliers of ancillary services such as farriers and vets. c) Own/Part own an equestrian establishment including but not limited to riding schools, events centre, stud or livery yard in any capacity, or receive any form of remuneration for employment at an equestrian establishment. For the avoidance of doubt for the purpose of this rule, immediate family members of an owner or part owner of an equestrian establishment who work or are howsoever otherwise engaged or involved in any capacity, whether or not for remuneration at the equestrian establishment, will be treated as being an owner or part owner of that equestrian establishment. d) Show a Horse owned or sponsored by a company or a commercial firm, or act as a Brand Manager, in any showing classes, or a Horse for which his/her immediate family accepts livery or training charges from a person outside the immediate family concerned. e) A competitor is not eligible to compete in Amateur classes on an Exhibit, which has been ridden by a Professional Rider in any Open classes during the current year and the following year, up to but not including the Royal International Horse Show, unless the Horse has subsequently been re-registered under new Ownership. f) On the day when an Exhibit is competing in an Amateur class, Professionals are not allowed to ride or work-in the relevant animal. The course must contain a combination and should contain a water tray. This class will be judged in two parts. Part One (Jumping) will be judged first, without a jump-off. All clear rounds and any other horses the judges may require will go forward to the next part. A rider can ride up to two horses in the jumping phase but then must select only one horse to take forward into the ride and conformation section if so required (no change of rider is allowed).
