New Hampshire Hunter Jumper Association Summer Festival Horse Show Information All participants must be current NHHJA members with current signature (membership forms available at Show Office). Horses are allowed on the show grounds no earlier than 9:00AM on Tuesday, July 3 th. Horses must be off the show grounds 1 hour after the show concludes on Sunday, July 8 th.. All entries accepted after Wednesday, June 21 st will be charged a post entry fee of $30/entry. All entries are required to pay $2 fee to NEHC and $1 fee to MHC. Returned checks will be charged a fee of $25. Payment of return fee and initial amount shall be made within 2 weeks of notification Payment by credit card will be accepted at the show. There will be a 3% fee of the amount charged for this service. Scratches prior to the close of entries will receive a full refund. Scratches after the closing of pre-entries will be refunded entry fees, however, a $50 scratch fee will apply, and stall fees will not be refunded. Derby Warm Up classes are open only to horses entered in the coinciding Derby class. There will be a scratch fee of $30 for all derby classes scratched after the derby warm up class. Horse show office will open 1 hour prior to start time, and close 1/2 hour after the end of show day. Any splits must be made by the end of the show day on Friday. Horses on the grounds but not showing, will be charged a grounds fee of $50. A $35 grounds/warm up fee will be charged to all entries. This will include all unjudged warm ups. Daily warm ups will be offered at times posted on the class list. All prize money will be applied to show bill. Excess winnings will be mailed within 30 days. Stabling will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. Stabling is limited, so please reserve early! Stalls are $225 each for the week if payment is made in full, and mailed with stall form, prior to closing date for entries (June 21st). Stalls not paid for by closing date will be $250 each. Open checks will not be accepted for stall fees. No refund of stall fees after the closing date of entries no exceptions. Hay and shavings can be pre-ordered on stall form. A mandatory night watch fee of $15.00 per stall occupied by a horse will be added to your show bill. This fee cannot be disputed. Helmets must meet or exceed ASTM/SEI standards and be worn at all times while mounted. Chin straps must be securely fastened. Dogs must be leashed at all times. NHHJA management reserves the right to limit entries, cancel, combine, or split any class, section or division; to add a dotted line; to reschedule classes, change rings, or change specifications in jumper classes due to time constraints.

Minors who do not have a valid driver s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver s license. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. NHHJA horse shows abide by the rules and regulations of the New England Horsemen s Council. All entries for NEHC medal classes must have their membership number or a copy of their temporary membership card with them. Entries without membership numbers will not be accepted. If you know you are a member and cannot remember your number, you can fill out a Membership Affidavit. There is a $25.00 fee which will be returned to you when your membership is validated. If you join NEHC at the horse show, please make sure you get your Temporary Membership from the show office. Lunging and schooling will only be permitted in designated areas. Please do not lunge or school on the grass! A limited number of RV spaces are available for weekly fee of $200. Electric and water are included. All RVs must be self-contained. SUMMER FESTIVAL CLASS DESCRIPTIONS As of April 1, 2010, the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF, www.usef.org) requires ALL persons mounted on a horse to wear properly fitted ASTM approved helmet with harness secured. The exhibitors age for competition will follow NEHC rules, age as of December 1. Points can be accumulated only in the age group indicated on the application for membership. The Stone Pony Junior Equitation Classic will be held at the following shows: Spring Show, Summer Festival, and NH Finals. Points accumulated at shows will count towards Year End award. Entry Fee: $40.00 44. EATON BERUBE AMATEUR ADULT EQUITATION CLASSIC - Fences not to exceed 2 6 with no combinations. Open to any amateur adult rider that has shown in any NHHJA equitation class over fences at this show. Top 25% of riders to be tested at judge s discretion. Scores to be announced. Points to accumulate at Spring Show, NHHJA Summer Festival and NH Finals for year-end award. Prizes for champion and reserve champion. Entry Fee: $40.00 45. NH EQUITATION CHALLENGE - To be run in a Washington International Horse Show Equitation Classic format, including a hunter phase, jumper phase and work-off. To be judged on style and execution with respect to the hunter and jumper disciplines. This class is offered to and junior or young adult riders who have not reached their 21 st birthday. Fences are to be 3 high, with spreads not exceeding fence height. Competitors must ride the same horse in all phases. Numerical scores to be given in the hunter and jumper phases. Standing Martingales are permitted. Hunter Phase: To be ridden over a hunter classic-type course with at least 8 fences, at 3. The course must include at least 2 changes of direction after the first fence, at least 3 spread fences, and a combination. To be judged on overall style and execution with regard to the hunter discipline. Ribbons for first through sixth place of the hunter phase will be awarded. Jumper Phase: Riders from the hunter phase will return in reverse order for the jumper phase. To be ridden over a timed jumper-type course with at least 8 fences, at 3. The course must include at least 2 changes of direction after the first fence, and at least 3 spread fences, and at least one combination. A time-allowed will be determined using the speed of 360 yards per minute. Time and jumping faults should be taken into consideration in the judge's evaluation of the rider. To be judged on overall style and execution with regard to the jumper discipline. Ribbons for first through sixth place of the jumper phase will be awarded. NH CHILDREN S MEDAL - fence heights not to exceed 2 6. Open to junior and amateur adult riders who have not shown higher than 3 at any recognized show. USEF Tests 1-8. 52, 53. NH MODIFIED CHILDREN S MEDAL fence heights not to exceed 2 3. Open to junior riders who haven t shown higher than 2 6 at a recognized show. USEF Tests 1-7. 56, 57. NH NOVICE MEDAL fence heights not to exceed 18. Open to junior and amateur adult riders who haven t shown higher than 2 at a recognized show. Testing is optional.. 58. DOWNEAST WALK-TROT POLES MEDAL - Open to riders 14 years and under. Must not have shown over fences higher than 18. Contestants shall be required to show at a trot over a minimum of four rails (poles) on the ground. Testing optional. Verbal testing recommended. 59. DOWNEAST SHORT & LONG STIRRUP MEDAL - Open to riders 17 years and under competing on horses or ponies. Riders must not compete during the year in equitation classes over fences that exceed 18. Contestants shall be required to perform a minimum of six fences with at least one change of direction. Fence height will be 18. Testing optional, verbal recommended. USEF tests 1-8. 60. DOWNEAST CHILDREN S PONY MEDAL - Open to riders 17 years of age and younger, competing on ponies. Contestants shall be required to perform over a minimum of six fences with at least one change of direction. Fence heights shall be 2 for small & medium ponies and 2 6 for large ponies. Testing optional. USEF tests 1-8. 61. DOWNEAST MODIFIED JUNIOR MEDAL- Open to riders 17 years of age and younger, competing on ponies or horses.
