THE EDHEC SAILING CUP In 1969, 3 students from the EDHEC Business School created the to broaden the sport of sailing. The event, organized by students for students, is now a reference in the sailing world and an annual meeting for universities. The 47th edition will be held from April 24 to May 2 in La Rochelle, France 2
LA ROCHELLE La Rochelle is located on the French Atlantic coast. It is one of the biggest marina in Europe The city welcomes every year big sailing events such as the Volvo Ocean Race, the Solitaire du Figaro or the International Sailing Week 3!
SAILING THE EDHEC SAILING CUP The 180-boats fleet is divided into two groups: One Design Boats: Grand Surprise (38 boats), J80 (40 boats) and Longtze (10 boats) IRC rating: All monohull boats with a Length Over All (LOA) from 8 to 16 meters and with a rating of 14 to 33.5 net handicap are admitted as well as Longtze boats 4
SAILING THE EDHEC SAILING CUP Three different rankings reward the winners: Overall Ranking 100% Student 100% International The race is supervised by the French Sailing Federation (FFVoile) national race committee 5
THE PROGRAM OF THE WEEK Friday Saturday: Registration and opening of the Village Sunday: Training regatta Monday: Tactical races Tuesday Wednesday: Port of Call, long-distance race between 16 and 25 nautical miles to Oléron Island (only for Grand Surprise and IRC boats) Thursday Friday: Tactical races Saturday: Final races and Closing Ceremony 6
