Joining Edgewood Thank you for your interest in the Edgewood Country Club. Our membership offers a host of recreational and social activities for you, your family, friends, and associates. With first-class facilities for dining, golf, swimming, tennis, and paddle tennis, Edgewood has something for everyone to enjoy. Consider Edgewood your home away from home a place to unwind, relax, meet new friends, enjoy favorite pastimes and recreation, and to gather with fellow members for special events and holiday celebrations. The Club is also an excellent resource for your business meetings or entertaining from casual dining to large parties. How to Apply For Membership You are encouraged to visit Edgewood Country Club with a current member or our general manager prior to applying for membership so you can experience the club s ambiance and its dining and recreational facilities. After you have decided to join, you need to have two resident members propose your membership using the application form supplied by the membership committee. The membership committee will then meet with you to discuss your membership in the club. Following that meeting, your application will be sent to the Club s Board of Directors for approval. Please allow at least 14 days for us to complete our membership process.
Golf The Edgewood golf course was designed in the 1920 s by Donald Ross, one of the all-time great golf course architects. Since that time, the course has been updated several times. The most recent renovation, completed in 1993 under the guidance of Arthur Hills, consisted of upgrading the bunkers and greens while maintaining the integrity of the original Ross design. Playing privileges and starting times may vary by membership classification. Starting times are required on a daily basis during the official season, April through October. The chart below outlines the play privileges from May through September. These become more relaxed during April and October. Golf Guest Policy Members are permitted a maximum of three guests at any time the member is permitted to play. The exception is only one guest per member is permitted on Saturdays during the morning crossover or Sundays, and holidays before 11:00 am. Members may have an immediate family member as their guest for a reduced greens fee. This reduced fee may be used 12 times per member in one fiscal year (Oct-Sept). Guest greens fees are published in the Green Book. Other discounts may be available during the non-golf season (November-March). Golf Related Fees The prevailing cart fees will be charged for either 9 or 18 holes year round. Caddies are also available during peak times upon request. The golf committee has established a pay scale (basic fee plus gratuity) which is based on the experience and skill level of the caddy. This pay scale is posted in the golf shop to reference. When caddies are not available, members may walk and carry their own bags. In this case, there will be a walking fee charged.
Golf Events There are many planned member events for men, women, mixed couples, and juniors. These include invitationals, club championship tournaments, and a husband/wife tournament, member/guest events, and a parent/child tournament. Dining The Edgewood Country Club boasts a variety of areas for dining and entertainment! The Donald Ross Grille & Lounge This casual dining and bar facility overlooks the patio and features a full golf course view. The expertly prepared menu includes full course, a la carte and special theme buffets. Casual dress, golf shoes, and denim are permitted. Dining room hours vary from season to season. The Fireside Room The absolute Heart of the Club. It s named for its large fireplace. Reserved for both Member dining and private functions this room is a delight to behold; particularly in the winter. It is also used as an extension to our ballroom for larger events. The Porch Shaded by large awnings, this area overlooks the No. 9 fairway. It accommodates up to 50 people and is perfect for summer dining and private party entertaining. It also can be used conjunction with the ballroom for larger events. The Men s Grille A bar and grille exclusively for male golfers, this facility is directly adjacent to the men s locker room. It is open for business whenever golfers are on the course. Private Party Entertaining Club facilities are available by reservation for members private business meetings or personal entertainment needs such as weddings or receptions. Areas most often used for these events are the Ballroom, which accommodates up to 400 guests; the Vista Lounge, an intimate setting for 150 people overlooking the golf course; and the Reflections Room, a gracious formal dining room accommodating 70 diners that has a lovely view of the golf course. Advanced reservations and planning are required. The chef will accommodate diners whose diets require special foods or preparations
Platform Tennis Facilities There are three regulation lighted and heated aluminum deck platform tennis courts. Our Tennis Hut makes for a cozy, comfortable setting for warming up, viewing play and socializing. Season The season runs from mid-september to mid-march, but courts are available year round. Activities All men s & women s teams play other teams in interclub league play. There are also mixed events each season. Instructional clinics are available. Reservations Courts can be reserved for casual play or parties. Guest Policy Guests are permitted to play twice/month except for special days that will be announced. A per person guest fee applies. Tennis Facilities The Violet H. Wright Tennis Center consists of three lighted Har-Tru courts, the paddle/tennis hut, and a shaded patio area. The hut is great for cooling off and socializing. Activities Events include interclub team play, Friday night parties, invitationals, and mixed round robins. Instructions, clinics, and private lessons are available for all levels and ages. Guest Policy A per person guest fee applies. A weekly pass can be arranged for houseguests through the finance office.
Swimming Facilities The pool area features a regulation size swimming pool, a baby pool, sunbathing & bathhouse. Our Poolside Café offers a pleasant opportunity to sit, relax and enjoy refreshment. The main swimming pool is 25 meters long, six lanes wide, 11 feet deep (max), and has two onemeter diving boards. A lap lane is also designated daily. Season & Hours The pool opens Memorial Day weekend and closes on Labor Day. Pool hours are 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday-Thursday on Friday until 9:00 pm, Saturday 11:00 am to 9:00 pm on Sunday until 8:00 pm. Designated lap lane hours are Monday through Thursday, 8-9 pm. The pool may close any time due to inclement weather. Teams The Mighty Moose Swimming and Diving Teams, comprised of members children, represent the Club in meets with other country clubs. Supervision Red Cross Certified lifeguards are on duty whenever the pool is open. The entire pool staff is under the direction of a full-time pool manager. Lessons Swimming lessons are available for all ages. Special Events Holiday events, family nights, and year-end parties highlight the summer pool schedule. Guest Policy A per person guest fee applies. A weekly pass can be arranged for houseguests through the finance office. Members may have up to four guests per day, but any one guest is limited to four visits per month.
