If it is nt lit up green yu will be getting an alarm, press the buttn and it Oxygen use with yur child s ventilatr: On the left side f yur child s ventilatr yu will find a green rubber nipple cver. Pull that ff and yu will find a gld nipple. Cnnect the xygen tubing t the gld nipple and the xygen will flw thrugh the ventilatr and t yur child. When t clean/change the circuit and supplies: Yur cmplete circuit shuld be changed ut nce per mnth and dispsed f. The filter inline f the circuit shuld be changed ut weekly t prevent water damage t the ventilatr. Using an internal and external battery: The vent has an internal battery which will be used if n external pwer surce is being used Yu will find the pwer surce and battery level indicatr at the tp right and will lk like the picture. The internal battery level is indicated by a clr Indicates battery level is gd there is apprximately 45 minutes left f use. Indicates battery level is lw and there is apprximately 10 minutes left f use. Indicates battery level is critically lw and there is apprximately 5 minutes left f use. Indicates that the battery is nt in use and using external r AC pwer surce. Charge status f Amber indicates yur internal battery is charging. Charge status f Green indicates yur internal battery is fully charged and ready fr use. External pwer surces: Wall utlet is yur best chice. Sprint Pak/Lithium battery If pwer utage ccurs we prvide a marine battery and pwer cnverter t yu at the time f yur child s setup. Apnea- The time perid between breaths is exceeded the APNEA alarm is generated. The ventilatr will autmatically g in the backup mde that is set by yur physicians rder. The vent will cntinue t alarm until the apnea is reslved r the Silence/Reset buttn is pressed. Stimulate yur child t ensure yur child is k. If they DO NOT respnd, fllw the steps f CPR which includes when t cntact 911. If they DO respnd watch yur child t ensure their safety. If this prblem cntinues call yur physician and CHHC respiratry therapy fr assistance. Sme f yur child s settings may need t be changed. T stp alarm press the Silence/Reset buttn nce t silence and twice t reset. Alarms cntinued: Disc/Sense- When the ventilatr detects ne f the fllwing cnditins, the DISC/SENSE alarm is generated: When a pressure line is pinched r blcked. Check the 3 pressure lines t ensure they are nt pinched r blcked. When a pressure line has becme discnnected. Unscrew and screw each f the pressure lines t ensure they are all tight. When a pressure line is ccluded (e.g., excessive cndensatin in the line). Fllw each line all the way t the end f the circuit t ensure there is n water in the line. If yu find water yu must change the entire circuit t fix this prblem. T reset this alarm press the Silence/Reset nce t silence and twice t reset the alarm If the alarm cntinues perfrm a leak test if it desn t pass change the circuit If alarm cntinues call CHHC respiratry therapy fr assistance. High Pres. (Pressure) - When the pressure in the patient circuit is greater than the high pressure limit setting the HIGH PRES alarm is generated. Lk at yur child, are they cughing. If s this can cause the high pressure alarm t sund. Suctin yur child t ensure their airway is clear. A mucus plug culd be causing the high pressure alarm. If yu can t pass the catheter remve the trach and place the backup trach in. If prblem cntinues call yur physician r call CHHC respiratry therapy fr assistance. T stp alarm press the Silence/Reset buttn nce t silence and twice t reset. Lw Min Vl. (Minute Vlume) - When the exhaled minute vlume (VE) is less than the lw minute vlume setting the LOW MIN VOL alarm is generated. This alarm indicates that sme f the air it delivered was nt exhaled back int the tubing fr measurement. Yur respnse shuld be t lk fr discnnected tubing r an air leak. Check the circuit fr any leaks Check t ensure there isn t a large leak arund the trach. Repsitin the trach if s. T stp alarm press the Silence/Reset buttn nce t silence and twice t reset. Lw Pres. (Pressure) -When the peak inspiratry pressure fr a selected breath is less than the Lw Pressure setting, the LOW PRES alarm is generated. This alarm indicates that either the ventilatr did nt reach the pressure it expected. Yur respnse shuld be t lk fr discnnected tubing r an air leak. Check the circuit fr any leaks r the tubing has been discnnected frm the trach. LTV 1150 Instructins Updated 8/07/2013 Page 7 f 9 This fact sheet is intended as a training guide fr families. Trubleshting: If yu receive an alarm that is nt stated abve please place yur child n the backup ventilatr and call CHHC respiratry therapy fr assistance. Aut Cycling: The vent is cycling a breath withut patient effrt causing it. Water in the circuit- the slshing f the water causes a pressure change which will cause the vent t cycle breath. Pur the water int the water trap and empty. Lw sensitivity setting- If the sensitivity is set lw just mving the circuit can cause a breath t cycle. Sme children need their sensitivity set lw it is determined by yur physician if the prblem cntinues let yur physician r CHHC respiratry therapist knw.
