Suspension Standing Orders FNSW Presentations Member Protection and insurance Changes for 2014 Michelle Hanley gave a presentation on changes to Member Protection and Insurance in 2014. Key points included: o Club must have an MPIO main point of contact o See the website www.playbytherules.com.au for useful information including the video presentation seen tonight. Also FNSW MPIO Pages which contain both FFA and FNSW policies o Insurance note insurance covers more than Personal Injury but also General Liability including Public Liability and Professional Indemnity. See www.jltsport.com.au/fnsw for more details o New Claim Form Note QBE form is out of date do not use unless for previous years injuries. o New Match Day Check List revised down from 4 page to 2 page and now designed for Grass Roots Club Use. Need to complete each match day. o New Flyers and Product Disclosure Statements available on Website. o TLB confirmed with Michelle the requirement for First Aid Officers to be on the ground. Michelle confirmed that yes it is a requirement going forward but that FNSW understands that this may take some time to implement. Sporting Pulse Admin meeting tomorrow. Sporting Grounds now covered by Workplace Safety regulations and FNS is offering a kick start program and First Aid Intro Courses. Sam Denmeade gave a presentation on the use of Fox Sports Pulse see FNSW website for more details. 1. Adoption of Previous Minutes a. Delegates 02/2014 (03/02/2014) Passed - Graham Morris & Andrew Barnes MC Minutes 03/02/2014 Passes - Mike Millen & Tony Woods 2. President a. Glen Turner from Norths Passed away Minutes Silence. Note Norths are planning to wear Black Arm Bands in round 1 Acknowledged Ghayath (from Spears) for his Order of Australia Award Medal for serving the youth in Bankstown in the Australia Day Awards c. Discussion with Sydney Olympic Juniors Canterbury Association turned them down as a club asked for vote to what the delegates think? A delegate asked can we take this back to our Clubs for their input? TLB indicated he can see their Point but would rather get answer tonight. Clubs voted - No. d. Constitution EC Representatives have met with FNSW Legal and are planning to propose the adoption of the FNSW model with some minor modifications. EC is getting a number (3 or 4) of Life and Senior Club members to assist the EC over the next couple of weeks to assist. e. Met with BCC a couple of times and the Heads of Agreement has been passed by Council and we now have shared Jensen access for the next 5 years. f. Meeting with Council next Monday to discuss a BDAFA office / home etc. g. TLB received a 12 page legal letter from Berries following the severing of the MoU with them. BDAFA EC Representatives were asked to attend with the Council to discuss with Berries. h. Discussion with winter sports associations about the 30 / 22 week split with Cricket and a joint proposal to council to look at changing the split to be more equitable. i. TLB - Noted that Rugby League locally is funded 6 times what BDAFA s profit was last year. j. During the next week or so EC will send out a copy of the plan and the 2014 Budget. TLB / GR will meet to summarise on what the $15 goes. (see Actions) k. Cards proposing no cards for SSF and will be issued with a laminated sheet instead. And trial it 12 / 13s to see if it works. If after a few weeks we can print the cards. (see Actions) l. Cards exchanged 15 minutes before the game between the managers in a folder. m. Clubs asked if Trials are called off please let BDAFA know so we can tell BFR - to avoid BFR turning up to empty park. n. There will be a Pre Season Launch at a venue TBA on Thursday 27th March 3. Secretary a. Trial Games All forms playing other associations that have come in have been sent off. Keep sending them in. FNSW apparently has been quite busy with these. G12 Girls looks like we will have at least 7 full teams this year. Therefore U12 Girls will be played on full size field as per normal competitive rules. c. Panania G11 Child with Autism they have asked if to be allowed EC has agreed with Arm Band. Easts also have a G12 Girl with Autism Also discuss with opposition Manager and referees / Game Leaders. Special Needs player allowed to take field without team having to make a replacement. This will make the game into a 12 v 11 whilst the player is on the field. d. Several requests for players playing up more than 2 years - each will be examined on its merits. e. It has been noted that some Clubs have grown significantly in numbers especially Rovers (up to 293 this year) who only have one field BDAFA EC looking for an additional grounds. Currently working with Council for extra grounds where club numbers have grown: Criteria: Historical tenancy at the field / facility; 2013 winter season usage; (look at Lighting) Size of each applicant club (e.g. number of teams or players); Overall booking request of the applicant (e.g. how many other fields have they requested, can their needs be met at another field/s Alternative (and suitable) fields available. Based on each assessment, a recommendation will be made as to the strongest application for each field. f. Delegate Questioned re passing players / teams to other smaller and struggling clubs. There are clubs that are struggling can we steer them to the weaker / smaller clubs. g. TLB take back to clubs to refer overflow players to other clubs. h. NSW Government offering money to Grass roots sports (Glen Brooks) coming tomorrow to the FNSW Association Admin Meeting.. i. Eric (RWC) Are G45 likely to occur? SF / GR at this stage looks like a yes but will be decided during Grading. j. Yagoona Lions New Strip (Photos) were presented Colours ok but questions over sponsor logo Bankstown Hotel?? (against FFA / FNSW regulations) and size of Logo. SF will discuss and let Yagoona know. (Actions) k. Winter permits have been sent to clubs, any changes will require a re-submission of times to the Secretary to forward onto council. 4. Senior Vice President (Judiciary) a. No Report 5. Junior Vice President (Appeals) a. Reminder of Skins Shorts / Shirts to be same colour as Shirt Shorts they are under. We need to inform BFR. (Action) Region League playing trials now can we get the clubs to get there and support them. 6. Treasurer a. 266,469.04 in the bank 7. Competition Secretaries a. Josh gave Dave apologies. Overall Draw Structure coming out next week after Grading. c. G30 ladies will allow up to 3 under age also proposing same with G45 d. Dave will be sending out Competition Structure details paper shortly e. TLB asked clubs to let BDAFA know if there are problem teams or sensitive matches in their club well in advance and they will work with BFR to get them officiated where possible. f. Andrew Barnes is there a Competition Structure document as discussed and is the Friday 7 th 5pm deadline strict. GR Grading starting 7pm Friday night so 7pm to get them in by then. g. Waratah Cup those who get past round 1 - Dave L will give some leniency and flexibility regarding when the may play their BDAFA Games. h. Bill Balsamo Can we also consider moving games for State Cup as Bankstwon Clubs often at a disadvantage over other associations that allow deferment of rounds for teams playing State Cup. Josh indicated that he and Dave are very flexible on this and agrees that Wednesday nights would be suitable for games instead of Saturdays when State Cups games on. i. Kindy Soccer is BDAFA running it or is the Clubs running it This year Clubs but BDAFA will support. Info doesn t need to be in for grading / rego deadlines. j. SSF preference is for home and away. k. Grading info due on Friday 7 th 5pm Grading starting Friday Night. l. TLB 12 Team Comp for PL2 Highlighted the Villawood Appeal decision and then EC asked Norths if they still wanted to join Notification will come out this week to clubs. (Action) 8. Registrar a. GP spoke to his mail out to clubs Clubs to Hold on to Birth Certificates he will request them if necessary. c. Will lock teams on 6pm Friday after that changes will be by form submission once a week. d. Grading results issued on Monday 10th e. PL1 / PL2 registration due this week by 5pm Friday and Waratah Cup teams will get card printing priority. f. Requests that any waiting lists (excess registrations) contact clubs nearby. Coaching Courses 31/03/2014 at Kinch at 6pm Grass roots Expo get your coaches to at least turn up to grass roots. Designed to teach rules as well as drills. f. Times / Dates / Grounds coming out soon also looking for grounds to host them. Looking to spread the love and share the coaching around the clubs and grounds. i. Looking to start Development Squads with BC Lions (8 to 10yo) details to follow to clubs will be a small charge per player. j. FNSW have a promotion to approach each of the primary schools in the area. Free 2 hour clinic for up to 100 kids asking for coaches, parents to support and promote. Already planned at 4 schools. 16. General Business a. Villawood Ladies have requested to wear Black Shorts as they couldn t get the suitable matching royal blue shorts. Approved. Did BDAFA advertise in Foreign Language papers Yes the Arabic paper, Macedonian (with help of BC Lions) and Vietnamese and mandarin soon. c. TLB - We need to look to get some of these players in our association. d. SF discussed translation of website difficult e. SF thanks to Spears for the Arabic Translation. f. SSF Goals Clubs own them all now. It was noted that there are still a couple of sets at BDAFA Office if clubs are looking for some. g. Any Lights out let Secretary know h.
