LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR WELCOME! Wow, where has the summer gone? Here at the Eaton Recreation Department, we were as busy as ever, shattering previous participation and enrollment records for any season and we could not be more proud of this community. One of my favorite quotes and one that fits with the culture of our department is, If you re going to be your biggest critic, make sure you are also your biggest fan. While we consistently look at ways to improve and make our programming better, it s also nice to take a step back and value some of the great moments, programs, and memories created by our staff and participants, so thank you! For the past year, we have offered new programming, adjusted old programming and done our best to communicate our goals, values and expectations. Moving into year two of my tenure as Recreation Director, we look forward to not only adding to our programming, but also making large strides as far as communication, efficiency, and convenience. With each of those in mind during the planning process and throughout each program, it is our hope that the quality we are able to provide is second to none. Fall registration will begin on July 27th it is earlier this year so make sure to mark your calendars. All of your favorite athletics are back including volleyball, soccer, flag football and basketball ranging from grades 1 through 6 depending on the program. For those future athletes who are not quite to 5 years old, we are excited to bring back PE Mix, Start Smart Flag Football, and Little Kickers. (Our Little Kickers program doubled in size from 4 teams last fall to 8 this spring!) Finally, do not forget about our Fall Special Events! Last year over 300 youngsters dressed in every costume imaginable participated in our first ever Trunk or Treat. This year we will up the ante with more trunks, more giveaways, and more FUN don t miss out!!! It is truly a pleasure to serve as your Recreation Director and we hope that what we provide lives up to the very high expectations set by this community. Please continue to provide us with feedback, questions, comments, or concerns.
