HYUNDAI ARCHERY WORLD CUP RULES - 2018 Hyundai Archery World Cup Stages (AWCS) Hyundai Archery World Cup Final (AWCF) Hyundai Archery World Cup Ranking (AWCR) 1

(Version 1.0 printed 16 January 2018) 1. Hyundai Archery World Cup Stages (AWCS) 1.1. There will be four (4) AWCS in 2018 for recurve and compound divisions in outdoor archery, male and female. Shanghai, CHN (23-29 April 2018) Antalya, TUR (20 26 May 2018) Salt Lake City, USA (18 24 June 2018) Berlin, GER (16 22 July 2018) Samsun, TUR (29-30 September 2018) Athletes wishing to qualify for the AWCF should compete in the AWCS. 1.2. Each Member Association, including the AWCS organising host countries, may enter a maximum of four (4) men and four (4) women per category (i.e. 4 recurve men, 4 recurve women, 4 compound men, 4 compound women). 1.3. The following competitions will be organised in each of the AWCS: Individual (RM, RW, CM, CW) Team (RM, RW, CM, CW) Mixed Team (Recurve & Compound) 1.4 Points for the AWCR can be won at any of the AWCS. All four AWCS hold the same value for World Cup purposes, though they may have different factors for the World Ranking. 1.5 The competition format will follow the current World Archery Rules 2018. Please refer to the World Archery Rules Book and to the Question and Answer sections on www.worldarchery.org for more details. 1.6 INDIVIDUAL competition: Athletes ranked in the top 16 positions in each AWCS will win points for the AWCR. Points will be awarded based on the following table: 1 st place: 25 points 2 nd place: 21 points 3 rd place: 18 points 4 th place: 15 points 5 th place: 13 points 6 th place: 12 points 7 th place: 11 points 8 th place: 10 points 9 th 16 th place: 5 points 17 th 32 nd place: 1 point Only the athlete s best three results will count towards their AWCR. 2

1.7 In a tied situation to qualify for the Hyundai World Cup Final, ties will be solved on the following basis: The athletes position in the World Ranking issued immediately after the last AWC stage (Berlin, July 2018) If the tie persists, the athletes position in the latest AWCR in 2018 If the tie still persists or neither of the athletes were present in the previous year s AWCR, the result of the last AWCS in which they both participated; If still unsolved, a coin toss will be made 1.8 Athletes that win one of the 4 stages will automatically qualify for the World Cup Final. The remaining places will be awarded based on the final ranking list with the 8 th position, in each individual category, being awarded to the athlete from the host nation of the organising country. However, there is a limitation of two athletes from the same country in each category. In case there are more than two athletes from the same country among the top 7 places, then the next available athlete(s) in the AWCR will be selected. In case there are two athletes from the host country among the top 7 places, both will qualify. The organising country will not be able to choose a third athlete and the next available athlete in the AWCR will be selected. A position in the AWCR can be used only by the athlete who won it. It is not a position won for the athlete s country. This means that the athlete who wins a position for the AWCF cannot be replaced by another athlete from their own country. 1.9 If an athlete who has won a position for the AWCF is unable to participate, the next ranked athlete on the AWCR will be invited to compete in the AWCF. A deadline for confirmation of participation will be established and published by World Archery, giving time for substitution if necessary. 1.10 MIXED TEAM Competition: The mixed team competition will continue in 2018 in order to keep developing and promoting this competition. A mixed team is composed of one (1) male and one (1) female athlete from the same country and same bow division. 1.11 The best eight (8) mixed teams will receive points for the Mixed Team Ranking (MTR): 1 st place: 16 points 5 th place: 4 points 2 nd place: 12 points 6 th place: 3 points 3 rd place: 10 points 7 th place: 2 points 4 th place: 8 points 8 th -16 th place:1 point 1.12 All four AWCS in 2017 will count for the AWCR. 3

1.13 After completion of the AWCS, and the final MTR, the top team (first country in Recurve and in Compound Mixed Team Ranking) will qualify for the AWCF to play the teams from the host nation. In case the team(s) from the host nation are first in the AWCR, the second team(s) will be selected. The mixed team qualification doesn t automatically imply a qualification for the individual competition. The choice of who shoots in the mixed team is a choice of the Member Associations concerned. 1.14 Ties in the MTR will be solved on the basis of: The mixed team s position in the mixed team World Ranking issued immediately after the last AWC stage (Berlin, July 2018) If the tie persists, the mixed team s position in the latest AWCR in 2018 If the tie still persists or neither athlete of the mixed team were present in the previous year s AWCR, the result of the last AWCS in which they both participated If still unresolved, a coin toss will be made 2. Hyundai Archery World Cup Final (AWCF) 2.1 The 2018 AWCF will be held in Samsun, Turkey on 29-30 September 2018. 2.2 Qualified athletes and the Member Associations involved will be contacted by World Archery, to whom they will confirm their participation and agree with the participation conditions of the AWCF. After that, World Archery will officially confirm the participation and registration to this final event. 2.3 All athletes will comply with sponsoring and marketing requirements. For example, each athlete will have to include on their shirt an advertisement of two (2) World Archery Sponsors, which will be attached on site. Athletes will be asked to provide the shirt they will compete in upon arrival. 2.4 Single room, full board accommodation will be provided by the LOC at the official event hotel for athletes, who participate in the AWCF. Qualified athletes will be invited to arrive one (1) day prior the day of familiarisation (Friday 28 September 2018) and leave the day after their respective competition finishes. All local transportation will be provided by the LOC. 2.5 The roundtrip flight/journey to Samsun, Turkey needs to be arranged and covered by the athlete (or their Member Association, sponsor, etc.). World Archery will not cover this cost. 2.6 All matches will follow the World Archery Rules 2018. 2.7 The top two athletes in the 2018 AWCR, for each category, will be placed at the two opposites ends on the bracket. The remaining athletes position in the draw will be decided by mean of a random draw. Athletes, will be paired following the outcome of the draw starting at the quarterfinal final stage, followed by the semifinals finals and medal matches. 4

2.8 At the start of each match the highest ranked athlete, in the AWCR, has the decision in who shoots first to start the match. The lower ranked athlete decides who is to shoot on which target, i.e. target 1 or target 2. 2.9 All matches may be televised live on different TV channels or included in the TV production. 2.10 The finalised competition schedule and details of the AWCF will be communicated on www.worldarchery.org and to the finalists two weeks before the start of the competition. 2.11 In addition to the individual competition, the gold match of the Mixed Team competition-exhibition will be organised. The qualifying countries in compound and recurve will compete against the host nation mixed teams (two mixed teams, one mixed recurve and one mixed compound). 3. Prizes 3.1 The participants in the individual competition who rank 1 st, 2 nd or 3 rd in any of the AWCS categories will receive the following prize money amounts: 1 st place: 2,000 CHF 2 nd place: 1,000 CHF 3 rd place: 500 CHF 3.2. The original trophy - including the name of the winners of each edition engraved - will remain in possession of World Archery. During the AWCF, the winners will receive a copy of the trophy. 5

3.4. The 2 (two) mixed teams competing in the AWCF, both in compound and recurve will receive an award. No prize money is given for the Mixed Team competition. World Cup Stage & Final Prize Money In order to save bank transfer costs for World Archery and winning athletes, World Archery will only pay the prize money for the stages and the final at the end of the season, independently of the qualification of an athlete for the AWCF. The expected date of payment will be 17 December 2018, but World Archery reserves the right to postpone this date. Athletes are required to complete a prize money form for all the AWCS or AWCF in which they have won prize money. If World Archery does not receive a correctly completed form by 03 December 2018 with all the details correctly given, World Archery reserves the right not to pay the athlete. It is the responsibility of the athlete to provide correct and up to date bank details on time and as requested by World Archery. 3.5. Longines Prize for Precision As of 2010, our sponsor LONGINES created the Longines Prize for Precision. Two (2) prizes will be awarded each year to the most precise athletes (athletes who shoot the most 10s during the individual qualifications and the matches from the 1/16 final phase) of the World Cup can win the prize. The top Recurve Men and Women will win the prizes in even years (2018, 2020,...) and the top Compound Men and Women will win the prizes in odd years (2019, 2021, ). Thanks to the generosity of Longines, the prizes consist of a Trophy, a Longines watch and 5,000 CHF per athlete! 4. Nations Ranking 4.1 At the end of the Hyundai Archery World Cup Stage 4 in Berlin (GER), the nations ranking will be final. 4.2 All AWCS count towards the nations ranking based on points gathered by individual athletes, team and mixed team results. Points per individual and Mixed Team results for each Nations Ranking are the same ranking points used for the AWCR. Points per team results are as follows: 1 st place: 40 points 2 nd place: 32 points 3 rd place: 26 points 4 th place: 20 points A trophy will be awarded to the top three countries at the 2019 World Archery Congress in s-hertogenbosch, (NED). 6

5. Doping Control 5.1 There will be a minimum of ten (10) samples collected at each AWCS. 5.2 There will be ten (10) samples collected at the AWCF: the first two positions in each division plus two targeted among the other remaining athletes. 5.3 WADA/World Archery Anti-Doping Rules and test procedures will apply for all Anti-Doping tests in the AWCS and AWCS. 6. Legal Framework The Hyundai Archery World Cup Rules will follow the provision set in the Constitution and Rules, except for any specifications mentioned in these rules. In case of misunderstanding, due to translation of these rules, the English version will be referred to. World Archery reserves its rights to change these rules at any time.
