The International Swimming Meeting in Canet-enRoussillon is part of a unique swimming circuit, the Mare Nostrum Swimming Tour. It was founded in 1994 by the club de Natation de "Canet 66 Natation", along with Barcelona and Monaco. The Mare Nostrum Swimming Tour offers coaches and swimmers an exceptional technical environment and high-level meetings in a world class 50m swimming pool. Once again, Canet-en-Roussillon and its fabulous Arlette Franco complex will be to proud to welcome swimmers from more than 30 countries on Saturday, June 9 and Sunday 10 for its 31st edition Mare Nostrum in one of the most beautiful swimming meeting locations in the world. The Mare Nostrum Swimming Tour in Canet-enRoussillon promises some exciting competition this year, with over 400 world class swimmers and 80 delegations, including 35 medalist from the last Olympic Games in Rio, Budapest World and European Championships. Over 30 countries including Japan, Great Britain, Germany and the USA will be represented by their most prestigious swimmers, offering what we are sure will be a very exciting week end of world class swimming.

MEETING HISTORY 1988 With the creation of the Europa Center, the city of Canet-en-Roussillon organizes the International Swimming Meeting. 1992 The club Canet 66 Natation launches basis of a circuit associating its meeting with Barcelona and creates the Mediterranean prize. 1994 Monaco joined with Canet-en-Roussillon and Barcelona. Thus, the MARE NOSTRUM was born.

PRIZE MONEY Trophée MARE NOSTRUM A men's ranking and a women's ranking will be established by totalling the FINA points obtained at each Meet (Monaco, Barcelone and Canet-en-Roussillon). For each swimmer, only the best performance swim during the A Finals of each competition will be considered (any style and distance). Awards for the 4 first male swimmers and the 4 first female swimmers will be presented during the Closing Evening at Monaco (last stage of the Mare Nostrum Tour 2018).
