This is obtaining the 2009 AAU registration card. Step 2: Go to the AAU National Boys Basketball Web Site www.aauboysbasketball.org Click on enter a team or roster or go to the AAU National Girls Basketball Web Site www.aaugirlsbasketball.org Click on enter a team or roster. Step 3: Follow the instructions on completing the player and coaches roster forms. This will enter your rosters. Print a copy for your file. Step 4: Go to the AAU National Boys Basketball Web Site www.aauboysbasketball.org or the National AAU Girls Basketball Web Site www.aaugirlsbasketball.org and Click on District Championship. Complete the entry form and mail a copy of the entry form and your check made payable to VA Boys and Girls AAU Basketball to: Bill Woleslagle 12915 Cohasset Lane Woodbridge, VA 22192 This will complete your entry in the district 2009 qualifying tournament. NOTE: Remember for 2009 it is the responsibility of each coach to bring with them copies of birth certificates, walker ID, age/grade exception forms, medical release forms, and ethic forms. If you have a player that is challenged and you cannot produce a birth certificate, your team will be forfeited from the tournament. This can occur up to and including the championship game.
2009 VIRGINIA DISTRICT AAU BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS BOYS DIVISION I 9U HOSTED BY: Boo Williams Summer League DATES: Tournament Dates: April 3 5, 2009 Entry Due Dates: March 20, 2009 SANCTION: ADVANCEMENT: ENTRY FEE: Virginia District AAU sanction numbers are listed on the entry forms. The Boys program will utilize a pool play to single elimination tournament. This will guarantee each team a minimum of three (3) games. A non-refundable entry fee of $275.00 for Boys Division I will be required to participate. This fee must accompany the Team Entry Form. Please make check payable to VA DISTRICT AAU BOYS AND GIRLS BASKETBALL. *************THERE WILL BE NO ENTRY REFUNDS************ ENTRY DEADLINES: There is a single entry deadline. The deadline for the team entry form is the date received via E-mail. A copy of the entry form and the $275.00 check made payable to VA District AAU Boys and Girls Basketball must be received via regular mail no later than five (5) days following the electronic date. No team will be officially entered in the tournament until payment is received. Team entry forms received after the deadline date will not be accepted. The only form to be mailed will be the entry form and the entry fee check. The deadline for the team roster is due electronically on or before the entry Date. The team roster will be completed on-line via the boys national basketball web site. All individual supporting documentation such as birth certificates and age grade exception forms will be hand carried to the tournament by the head coach. If challenged it will be his/her responsibility to produce the proof of age birth certificate or age grade exception form. Failure to produce the required document(s) will result in the challenged team not participating in the tournament. The format for all Division I tournaments will be a pool play to single elimination tournament. Tournament schedules will be mailed out prior to the tournament date. At That time you will receive directions and maps to game sites and hotels. An Attempt will be made to post all schedules on the web site if possible.
RULES OF PLAY: All games will be played in accordance with the rules outlined in the 2009 AAU Boys and Girls Basketball Program handbook and under Virginia HS Rules (modified). PROTEST: HOME TEAM: DATE FOR AGE DETERMINATION: TEAM ROSTER: AAU REGISTRATION: CONDUCT: ACCIDENT: Protests may only be petitioned regarding the eligibility of a player. The top or left team in the game schedule is considered the home team and Shall wear light colored jerseys. Each team MUST have both light and dark colored jerseys. If a team does not have light and dark colored jerseys, they should have either reversible numbered pinnys or see thru pinnys. The tournament director is not responsible for furnishing pinnys. September 1, 2009/school grade shall be the age determination date for boys. All players proof of age will be verified by the on-line registration. The head coach must have copies of players birth certificates at the tournament as well as age/grade exception forms. Team rosters will be limited to 15 players and four coaches throughout the Virginia District tournament. Note: Only those persons listed on the team roster may sit on the bench. All players and all coaches must have a valid 2009 AAU registration card. Coach means any adult person listed on the team roster is permitted to sit on the bench. AAU registration must be verified by submitting each person s AAU registration number in advance to the tournament coordinator in the space provided on the team roster. AAU registration is made on-line. The head coach listed on the team entry form is responsible for the behavior of team, its players and its fans. The tournament director will eject any person whose actions seriously interfere with the conduct of the tournament or are a blatant violation of the AAU Code. Please refer to the Parents and Coaches Code of Ethics. The head coach, not the tournament director, is responsible for attending To the medical needs of his/her athlete(s) in the event of accident, injury, or illness. A simple agreement to participate, which includes a medical release clause, is enclosed. Forms must be completed and maintained by the head coach. You may need this form or a similar form to authorize medical treatment, especially if the parents are not available. This form is provided for your convenience. If medical treatment is required in connection with any AAU sanction event, you may obtain an AAU insurance claim form from the tournament director or the Virginia District AAU office. AAU insurance is secondary insurance unless The patient has no other coverage, in which case the AAU becomes primary insurance. TEAM CHECK IN: All teams must check in at their scheduled gym sites at least one hour prior to their first scheduled game. GAME BALLS: Tournament host will provide game balls. Practice balls will not be provided. ADMISSION: Tournament passes will be available with prices in accordance with the 2008 Virginia Boys and Girls Basketball Handbook.
ACCOMMODATIONS: Teams are responsible for their own transportation and accommodations. A special discount rate may be available by some area hotels/motels.
