Stan Lemon rode as Stan Johns Hailsham Cup This year the competition was based on the results over the whole season scored in all events. Result was Danny Lee 109pts, Charlie Page 99, Stan Johns 83, Harry Saunders 59, Charlie Dugard 54 Easter Sun 17.04.38 : Eastbourne EG 20.4.38; E Cour 22.4.38; E Chron 23.4.38 Att: 2,000. "Unprecedented shortage of riders and track difficulties" meant that an "impromptu programme had to be arranged with the team competitions in the first half (this was a Probables v Possibles match) and handicaps in the second".
