Course Clippings As we are all patiently waiting for spring to get here, wrapping up the winter projects has been our focus. When the weather was good, the staff accomplished several items this winter. 26 new trees were planted. We also managed to plant several Leyland cypress trees behind #3 and #15 green - to create a nice border between the golf course and the greens and grounds department. Several trees that did not survive 2017 were also removed, and the stumps ground. On the Greens We have also managed to get the entire fence painted along 49th street, and installed new poles at the tennis courts for the backboard which allows people to practice themselves. The entire golf course has been sprayed for winter weeds, and for the annual pre-emergent to prevent potential upcoming weeds. Staff did a great job here working around the cold, and especially the wind. Please mark your calendars for the spring aeration dates. We are set to aerify on both March 5 & 6, and March 11, 12, & 13. Dan Robinson, Ground Superintendent 6
