This field trial was conducted to observe and document the effects of supplemen,ng Bio,n 800 Z in equines. Bio,n 800 Z is a pelleted extra strength hoof builder. It is formulated with concentrated, essen,al ingredients to help build and maintain healthy, strong and resilient hooves. These essen,al ingredients will also improve the overall condi,on of skin and hair coat in horses. Each one ounce daily dose provides 50 mg of Bio,n, 300 mg of Zinc, 75 mg of Copper and 1,000 mg of Methionine. This product contains essen,al amino acids, chelated minerals, vitamins, Omega 3 & 6 FaWy Acids and Yeast Cultures. For the purposes of this field trial a five (5) year old quarter horse stallion was selected as the test subject. The horse is double registered AQHA/APHA and is named Golden Casanova. The stallion is a fairly easy keeper who is in good health. He is fed a high quality alfalfa hay, with no grain, or other supplementa,on to the diet. He does have free choice access to salt. This horse is stalled in a 10 X 20 stall and is turned out daily for a period of 2-4 hours. He has free choice access to water. This horse stands 15-2 and weighs approximately 1100 pounds. The stallion is used primarily for breeding and is saddle broke. He was bred approximately 20,mes in the spring and early summer of 2010. This horse currently has poor hoof growth and poor hoof quality. The stallion is owned by Debra Campbell. Debra is the owner of Campbell s Paint Horses located in Elkhorn, Nebraska.

Field Trial Timeline Phase #1 - Day 1 July 6, 2010- photos obtained depic,ng all four hooves prior to supplementa,on of Bio,n 800 Z. Supplementa,on of one (1) ounce, per day, of Bio,n 800 Z ini,ated on a daily schedule. Phase #2 - Day 100 October 16, 2010- photos obtained showing posi,ve effects of supplementa,on, aler 100 days. Test horse hooves were trimmed once during this,me period. Test horse had no illnesses or injuries during this,me period. Normal feeding regime was maintained. Supplementa,on of one (1) ounce, per day, of Bio,n 800 Z maintained on a daily schedule. Phase #3 Day 245 March 12, 2011- photos obtained showing 100% posi,ve effects of supplementa,on, aler 245 days. Test horse hooves were trimmed twice during this,me period. Test horse had no illnesses or injuries during this,me period. Normal feeding regime was maintained. Supplementa,on of one (1) ounce, per day, of Bio,n 800 Z maintained on a daily schedule.

Abscess erup,on occurred where old, poor quality hoof wall was met by new, high quality hoof wall. Without the new, high quality hoof wall, the abscess possibly could have migrated all the way to the coronary band, poten,ally causing damage to the coronary band where all new growth originates.
