PRESENTATION The French round of the World Rally Championship The World Rally Championship was created by the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l Automobile) in 1973 and it comprises 12 rounds in 2017. This year s Tour de Corse is the fourth on the calendar; it has been repositioned and is now at the beginning of the season. It will be the first round on tarmac and above all, the first in Europe. The Tour de Corse, a legendary event The Tour de Corse was held for the first time in 1956 and it has been the scene of no-holds-barred battles between the greatest drivers and manufacturers in the world. It was called the Rally of the 10 000 corners for a long time and the 2017 staging will again be one of the most demanding and also one of the most exciting. In fact, Corsica is the ideal playing field for rallying. A look-back at the 2016 event At the end of a hotly-contested race full of twists, Sébastien Ogier and his co-driver Julien Ingrassia won the 2016 event.
