Occupational Health Safety and Welfare Our Policy

OCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY Management of QI Electrical Services is committed to ensuring, as far as responsibly practicable, that all employees are safe from injury and risk to health while they are at work. QI Electrical recognizes that it is responsible for the health and safety of all employees in the workplace. To establish this QI Electrical must provide and maintain a working environment that is safe to its employees. To maintain this QI electrical is committed to regular discussions with the employees to ensure that health and safety issues are regularly reviewed. THE COMPANY Is responsible for the effective implementation of this policy Will fulfill their responsibilities under the Act and regulations, which apply Will ensure regular discussions are held with the employees Will make regular assessments of health and safety performances and sources Shall provide information training and supervision to employees for the correct use of tools, testing, and equipment used EMPLOYEES Follow safe and healthy work practices Report dangers in the workplace to supervisors Not put themselves or others at risk Not affected by drugs or alcohol Follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment Report all accidents and near misses to supervisors immediately The policy will be regularly reviewed and the company seeks the assistance of employees to ensure all health and safety objectives are maintained to create a safe working environment Managing Directors Stuart Donaldson Peter Eckermann DATE

EQUIPMENT SAFETY It is the responsibility of all employees to ensure that any equipment they use is in safe working condition, in the event that equipment is deemed unfit for use it is to be tagged out with an out of service tag, outlining the fault with the equipment and the person reporting it. It is then to be reported to a supervisor immediately. It is the responsibility of the employee to use the correct personal protective equipment for each device. For grinding ear plugs and safety glasses should be worn, with a preference for safety goggles or mask When drilling safety glasses must be worn A spotter shall be used when grinding Welding a mask and gloves is required with a spotter When lifting with a crane, gloves should be worn Using any hydraulic equipment gloves and eye protection to be worn Any equipment that discharges swarf requires eye protection to be worn PPE Steel capped boots to be worn Eye protection to be worn when required Ear protection to be worn when required Gloves to be worn when required Grinding masks, welding shields, correct gloves to be worn when required High visibility shirts or vests to be worn Hard hats to be worn when required Hats to be worn when in sun and no hard hat required Proper protection from the sun, sun cream and long shirts to be used when in direct sun It is the responsibility of QI Electrical to provide PPE to its direct employees; contractors are to supply their own PPE

Working with Electricity All equipment should be electrically isolated Tested with the correct testing equipment The equipment should be tagged with a personal danger tag The correct PPE should be used, i.e. eye protection and gloves in cases In the event of working on live equipment there should be a spotter, but it is advisable that if possible all equipment be isolated to prevent electrocution If considered too dangerous to work on report to your supervisor, never take unnecessary risks Be aware of what is been worked on Always asses the situation first before working on it, take time to see the electrical dangers present and try to eliminate them REPORTING INCIDENTS All near miss accidents and actual accidents to be reported immediately to your supervisor All electrocutions, no matter how minor are to be reported immediately to your supervisor The correct paperwork to be carried out immediately, medical attention shall be sought The reports shall go straight into the safety minutes The accident will be assessed and action on how to minimize it happening again will take affect straight away With any accident it s the supervisors role to notify the correct authorities as soon as practical
