This does not apply to Novice Working Hunter Classes.Any horse that qualifies for Horse of the Year Show in a Ridden Hunter Class (not including a working hunter class) will not be eligible to compete in Novice Classes from the 1st of January the following year, but horses that qualified for Horse of the Year Show as a 4 year old are exempt. Horse of the Year Show Qualifying Classes Held under the rules of the British Show Horse Association, however Horse of the Year Show rules take precedence, a copy of which can be downloaded from www.hoys.co.uk. Horses must be registered with the British Show Horse Association and all Owners, Producers and Riders must be British Show Horse Association Members. Riders must be 15 years of age or older. Registration numbers must be quoted on entry form. This is a Horse of the Year Show Qualifier, all data given upon entry of this class is provided to Grandstand Media Limited and stored on the Grandstand Entries System. For full policy details please visit www.grandstandentries. com. HUNTERS Classes (1, 3, 4, 5, 14 and 15) are qualifiers for Horse of the Year Show. NEC, Birmingham 3rd 7th October 2018. The first prize winner will qualify to compete at the final. If already qualified the second will qualify, if the first and second are already qualified then the third will go forward. No Horse lower than third place will qualify. Entries in classes 3, 4 and 5 may not compete in class 1 (Small Show Hunter) and vice versa. Competitors in 3, 4 or 5 must enter their horses in the appropriate sections, but class 3 (lightweight) will be judged first, and the judges shall have the power to transfer exhibits to class 4 or 5 if they deem it necessary. CUDDY WORKING HUNTER OF THE YEAR This competition is for Working Hunters, any weight, mares, geldings or stallion (competing stallions must have a red, white and blue ribbon displayed in their tail) four years old or over, exceeding 148cm, to be ridden. Any horse which has qualified as a Grade A Show Jumper or Advanced Event Horse as at 1st January in the current year is not eligible to compete in Working Hunter classes. All Riders, Owners and Producers must be Members of the British Show Horse Association. Horses must be registered with the British Show Horse Association. Fences will not exceed 1.14m (3ft 9ins) in height, there should be a minimum of 8 fences and a maximum of 12 fences. The course must contain a combination and should contain a water tray. This class will be judged in two parts. Part One (Jumping) will be judged first, without a jump-off. All clear rounds and any other horses the judges may require will go forward to the next part. A rider can ride up to two horses in the jumping phase but then must select only one horse to take forward into the ride and conformation section if so required (no change of rider is allowed). This class will be run in accordance with the general rules as set out in the Horse of the Year Show rulebook, a copy of which can be downloaded from www.hoys.co.uk. Marks must be awarded in the following way: PHASE I (60 MARKS) 14 A: JUMPING POINTS 40 MARKS B: STYLE WHILE JUMPING 20 MARKS PHASE II (40 MARKS) C: CONFORMATION 20 MARKS D: RIDE 20 MARKS In the event of equality the CONFORMATION MARK from Phase II will take precedence, followed by the RIDE MARK, and then the STYLE MARK. If there are two Working Hunter Classes then the classes must be split as follows and then there must be a Championship to determine which one horse qualifies. Section A Lightweight Working Hunter Mare, gelding or stallion, 4 years old and over, capable of carrying 12 stone 7lbs and under. Small Hunters are to be included in this category. Section B Heavyweight Working Hunter Mare, gelding or stallion, 4 years old and over, capable of carrying over 12 stone 7lbs. Middleweight Hunters to be included in this category. Failure to jump in the correct section will result in elimination. Both classes will be jumped over the same course and height. When judging the Championship, judges will use the marks they have already allocated as a guide. The highest placed unqualified horse in the Championship will qualify for Horse of the Year Show. The Championship is only open to the first and second prize winners in the lightweight and heavyweight Working Hunter classes respectively. The four horses forward in the Working Hunter Championship must all be placed as any one of the top three could be eligible for HOYS qualification. These classes are a qualifying class for Horse of the Year Show, NEC, Birmingham, 3rd 7th October 2018. Qualification will not pass below 3rd place. Qualification will be verified by the Horse of the Year Show Office

Competing stallions must have a Red, White and Blue ribbon displayed in their tail. Fours years old and over mare, gelding or stallion. Horses not having a total of 200 excluding championship prize money, (or equivalent values) in prize money in any SHB(GB) affiliated Working Hunter Class or more than 25 BE points or 200 BSJA Show Jumping, at home or equivalent abroad before the 1st January in relevant year. Fences will be a minimum height of 0.85cms (2 9 ) and a maximum height of 1.00m (3,3 ). Working Hunters may compete Hors Concours in novice working hunter classes in the jumping phase only at the discretion of the show secretary, but the horse cannot compete in any other working hunter classes for the duration of the show.

Cob and Riding Horse Classes These classes are held under rules of the British Show Horse Association. Horses must be registered with the association and all Owners, Exhibitors and Riders must be Association Members. Riders must be 15 years of age or older. For Amateur Owner/Rider status, please refer to Rule 7B in the BSHA Rule Book 2018.Registration numbers must be quoted on entry form. No entry will be accepted unless accompanied by the Registration Numbers. Classes 8, 9, 11, 12 are qualifiers for Horse of the Year Show, NEC, Birmingham, 3rd 7th October 2018. The first prize winner will qualify to compete at the final. If already qualified the second will qualify, if the first and second are already qualified then the third will go forward and so forth to fifth place. In accordance with BSHA rules the annual BSHA Horse of the Year Show fee of 15 must have been paid to BSHA before the entry is made if the exhibitor wishes to qualify. The BSHA Horse of the Year Show fee cannot be paid in retrospect. The fee is not the Horse of the Year Show contribution, which goes to Grandstand Media Ltd. These classes will be run in accordance with the general rules as set out in the Horse of the Year Show rulebook, a copy of which can be downloaded from www.hoys.co.uk. This is a Horse of the Year Show Qualifier, all data given upon entry of this class is provided to Grandstand Media Limited and stored on the Grandstand Entries System. Horses competing at Horse of the Year Show and qualifying shows in The Hunter sections of The Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain classes at their Affiliated Shows cannot compete in Hack, Cobs and Riding Horse classes at the same show, on the same day and vice versa. This does not apply to SHB (GB) Ridden Sport Horse classes. The three highest placed prize winners in all Open Affiliated classes will qualify to compete in the BSHA Classic Supreme classes at the National Championship Show 2018. The BSHA offer a Novice, Young Rider and Amateur rosette in each Open class and a Champion rosette for each section (with the exception of Open Working Show Horse, Ladies Show Horse & Horse of the Year Show Hunter classes). The Association will also award an Amateur Home Produced rosette in all Affiliated Open Cob (Light & Heavyweights only) classes. These rosettes have been kindly sponsored by TSG, Mr L Turley. The awards will go down the line; there is no limit on how many of these rosettes can be claimed in a year. Hack, Cob and Riding Horse Classes Judges: Ride Rachel Thomas, Conformation Gilly Jones Class 6 Amateur Owner/Rider Hack Class 7 Amateur Owner/Rider Cob Class 8 The Colosso Family Lightweight Cob Class 9 The Colosso Family Heavyweight Cob Mare or gelding to be 4 years old and over, exceeding 148cms. RoR/Tattersalls, Thoroughbred Show Series & The Retrained Racehorse Challenge supported by RoR & Tattersalls Judges: Ride Robin Sharp, Conformation Judith Balding Class 17 THE RoR/TBA (THOROUGHBRED BREEDERS ASSOCIATION) RETRAINED RACEHORSE CHALLENGE. Mare or gelding 4yrs old or over and of any height. Riders must be 15 years old or over on the 1st January. Horses to be ridden in any suitable bridle and should be plaited. All entries must be registered with RoR and HAVE raced in GB. Racing injuries and blemishes ARE IGNORED in this series The first three go forward to the final at the RoR Championships, Aintree in August 2018 or 2019 for shows after 1st August 2018. Horses will NOT be ridden by the judge. Horses may be stripped for conformation at the discretion of the judge. Competitors must wear a safety/kite mark hard hat with a chinstrap. All those entering horses and/or participating in the show agree to be bound by the Retraining of Racehorses Rules and Regulations from time to time in force The class to be judged 50% jumping, 20% Style while jumping and performance and 30% awarded for show, manners and suitability to be retrained. PHASE 1 Jumping to be judged: 8 rustic jumps ( 2 6 to 3 foot with a maximum spread of 85 centimeters ) The following points to be deducted at the end of each jumping round: 10 points to be deducted for a knock down. 15 points to be deducted for a refusal. 20 points for second refusal. Elimination for third refusal or fall PHASE 2 Class returns without boots and judged for an individual show/conformation. (In some classes, at the judge s discretion, horses might be asked to do a show following their jumping without leaving the ring. This is often the case with a large number in the class) Each horse to complete an individual show of no longer than 1 ½ minutes. Show to include the following movements: Walk, Trot, canter showing change of leg, extended canter (gallop) halt and stand, walk off on long rein. Total marks out of 30% for Show, manners and suitability to be retrained. Fences for the final at Aintree can be up to a maximum of 3 6 Entry 18 Prizes : Rosettes 1st-6th and Vouchers 1st to 4th place. 1st 50 plus voucher for jacket, 2nd 25, 3rd 20, 4th 10. Veteran prize (15+): 25 voucher to be redeemed from RoR office and qualification for the Veteran Final at the RoR Championships at Aintree

Horses should be ridden in a snaffle, pelham or simple double bridle. Horses should be plaited. To take part in this class, horses must NOT have won an open class (inc SEIB/HOYS, BSHA, SHB(GB) RoR Tattersalls Show Series Qualifier, TARRA Ridden, RoR AMATEUR Ridden Show Series Qualifier or any other open class except RoR TBA Challenge Show Series classes. Unaffiliated Show wins are not taken into account. Horses will be ridden by the judge. Horses will be stripped for conformation. Horses may remain in Novice classes from January 1st to 31st December 2018. They are de-noviced when they win an open class but are still eligible to compete at the RoR National Show that August. The first three go forward to the Final at the RoR Championships, Aintree in August 2018 or 2019 for shows after 1st August 2018. All entries MUST be registered with the RoR and have RACED in GB. The class will be run under the rules of RoR. All those entering horses and/or participating in the show agree to be bound by the Retraining of Racehorses Rules and Regulations from time to time in force. Please be aware that the show will split the class on the horse s last run in a race (NH or Flat) should the entries exceed 20. Please mark your entry form accordingly. Competitors must wear a safety/kite mark hard hat with a chinstrap. Racing injuries and blemishes are NOT ignored in this series. Class 19 - The RoR Tattersalls Thoroughbred Ridden Show Series Qualifier 2019 Thoroughbred mare or gelding, 4years old or over, any height. Riders must be 15 years or over. Horses should be ridden in a snaffle, pelham or simple double bridle. Horses should be plaited. The first TWO go forward to the championship in 2019. All entries MUST be registered with the RoR and include their registration number on entry form and have RACED in GB. All those entering horses and/or participating in the show agree to be bound by the Retraining of Racehorses Rules and Regulations from time to time in force There will be a prize for the highest places horse that is ridden by an Amateur. Please be aware that the show will split the class on the horse s last run in a race (NH or Flat) or will provide 2 ride judges should the entries exceed 20. Please mark your entry form accordingly. Racing injuries and blemishes will NOT be ignored in this series Entry 18 Prizes : 1st 60 plus voucher for jacket, 2nd 40, 3rd 20, 4th 10. Rosettes 1st - 6th and Vouchers 1st to 4th place. Veteran prize (15+) 25 voucher to be redeemed from RoR office and qualification for the Veteran Final at the RoR Championships at Aintree.
